Hey fellow cruisers!
Katherine, I have been on a make pasta/sauce and pizza dough/sauce from scratch kick lately, so se should get together for a dinner party! :rotfl2:
Since there was some talk a little bit ago of rental cars, I started doing some research. Even with mousesavers, the least expensive rental I have found so far was $80 for a 23 hour one way rental! :scared1: DH and I rented a car this summer and found a Ford on Priceline for about $15 a day. I guess we won't be able to find something like that, but $80 is just outrageous to me. Hopefully we can find something better closer to sail date.
I like going to Palo dinner as a couple, just at sunset with a great glass of wine...very nice. But, brunch, I see more as a group thing. I have never done the tea.
Does anyone know if we will get information about the theme nights beforehand so we are able to bring appropriate attire if we choose to dress up? Mexican night sounds fun, and if we have multiple formal nights, I would want to bring a different dress for each night. Thankfully, Southwest will take the luggage worry out of the picture! (Thanks Alan! :thumbsup2)
DH and I saw Wicked for the first time this past Saturday, and it was amazing! We loved it so much, we bought tickets for next Thursday to see it again. If you have not seen it before, find a showing in your area, it is worth it! :flower3:
Because we bought the second round of tickets, we are keeping Valentine's Day low-key, maybe go to see Wolfman or something (very romantic). popcorn:: What are your plans?
Have a great day everyone!

I love making sauce from scratch, I got lucky and had an Italian mommy! I haven't taught myself how to make pasta yet, although it's on the list.

I love stories like Wicked that take a story and change the point of view. To make a storytelling point to my nephew once, I retold the story of Jaws from the sharks point of view. Watching the look on his face was priceless. It had literally never occurred to him that you could manipulate a story like that.

Katherine

I would love to try Palo but hubby does not like to pay for extra food. I tried to get him to do this on the Carnival Dream and no way. Made my first real payment for the cruise last week. Only 7 more to go and then I might can do something for the fall.
:cool1:This cruise is getting paid for by insurance policy due out, only way I can afford both so close, we usually pay a bit of pur mortgage with them, but were splurging this one!
We had a favorite server that we had for several cruises so it was an excuse to go up and see Anne Marie. I got sort of choked up when we said good bye to her after that cruise - what a sap I am.

And I hope everyone's weather stops with the precipitation, liquid or otherwise.

Everyone loves a sap, I would miss my table buddies too much, this time though I might try it since itsa longer cruise.

Disney cruiser, work, work, work, enjoy your film.

I would love to love my servers, but honestly? We've only had a great pair twice in 10 cruises. The other 8 ranged from ok to oh, brother. The hour and a half at the table is about 40 minutes too long for comfort, too. (I"ll NEVER be one of the last ones out of the diningroom, if I can help it, lol) I actually like to eat up in Topsiders/Beach Blanket at night. Then I can eat when I want to and not when Disney says I have to.

We've had some terrific table mates, though, and they're usually what compel me to dinner.

We have all of our navigator's from the 05 PC cruise. Let me see if I can't get Jeff to put them up on the website.

you should put up that menu too :rotfl: the one with the "essence of leeches"

I do dinner and brunch for Palo but not the tea.

Quick run down of the menus/ themes for the 05 cruise:

1st night: Let the Magic Begin (Bay Breeze was the DOTD - drink of the day)
2nd: Castaway Cay day - no theme and nothing special annotated in the navigator for a menu - just casual dress (Apple Madras)
3rd: Golden Mickeys - Formal Night (Yellow Bird)
4th: nothing special again, 2nd day at sea - (Bahama Mama) - Might have been the Mouseketeer night, I think it was since it was the Who Wants to be a Mouseketeer game show with Joey Fatone
5th: Tropical Night (Curacao) (Rum Runner)
6th - Start of the long stretch of sea days/ Canal crossing - nothing special (Caribbean Lemonade)
7th - Canal Crossing DAY!!!! Themed Menu for the crossing - was actually a keepsake (Panama Hat)
8th: Sea Day - Disney Dreams and Semi-formal Night (Cool Breeze)
9th: Sea Day - casual night (again) (Blue Hawaiian)
10th: Acapulco - Pirate Night (Tequila Sunrise)
11th: Sea Day - casual (Caribbean Sling)
12th: Mazatlan - the Bob Sagat night - where people were amazed the Danny Tanner wasn't that clean cut - casual night - I think this might have actually been the "mexican night" (Mariachi)
13th: CABO!!!!!! (yes I loved Cabo that much) second formal night (premiere of twice charmed) - (Cabo Siesta)
14th: Sea Day - Remember the Magic night (California Dream)

Jeff is taking the Navigators to work tomorrow to scan in. Hopefully they'll be up soon.

Hello Fellow Cruisers :)

My husband, Steven, and I are joining you in bringing the Wonder to California!!! We booked this in September while we were on our first Disney cruise celebrating our honeymoon :) We are so excited to be part of this magical journey and can't wait to meet all of you! I haven't had a chance to check out the past 150 pages but can anyone fill me in on any big things, lol. Have we talked about FE groups yet? I saw there was a poll, has the official picture been picked?

Thanks in advance!!!

Holly

Welcome from scotland:goodvibes
Yes, its(pic) picked(in my siggy)

Welcome HOlly and Steven!

FEs have been discussed in a general way but we've decided not to kick it into gear until the final payment has been made in September so the list is more firm. Right now, there are quite a few comings and goings.

Happy Day, Everyone!

We are the same way. If my DH had his way, he would have the servers bring everything we ordered including dessert out at once.

My 2 favorite drinks are The Bon Voyage or Miami Vice drink and the Konch Cooler.

Me too!!:cool1:

:welcome: Holly and Steven! So happy to have you joining us - great group here.

Well, we didn't get too much snow - 3 or 4 inches as the storm passed south of us. That is just fine with me. Those of you that did get slammed again - stay safe.

Yes, welcome Holly and Steve. I joined this group just a couple of weeks ago and it is a great group!

We aren't getting snow here, but it sure is cold. Well, cold for us Southerners! It is in the low 40s and it is supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow. So just cold rain! It's been cold and dreary here seems like since December with just a few warm days sprinkled in. We usually have mild weather with just a few cold days during this time of the year and this almost constant cold is getting old!!! I'm sure a lot of people would love temps in the 40s right now! But, we get the HOT and HUMID summers. However, it's usually 4 months into that type of weather before I get tired of it. All it takes is one cold spell and I'm begging for summer!

That's good news about missing the major snow event!! Are you close enough to feel the earthquake this morning in the greater Chicago area?

We already have about 6-8 inches of great packing snow here this morning...and 12 to 20 more on the way apparently!! LOL This is on top of the 22" we had last weekend.

Meanwhile, my daughter who is in Vermont at college, hasn't had any snow since Christmas! What's that???
