Just saying hi from Jambo House. Going to be 80 here today. Not missing the cold and wet weather of so cal right now at all. I wish I had more time off of work, I would stay longer. Oh well. Well Take care all, and if any of you are out here and have some time to say hi, I would love to meet you.

Snowed here today - about 8 inches - more than predicted for our area. It was supposed to rain, too, but didn't, although it is now up to 34 degrees.

Finished my holiday cards AND my tree, and did a few more pages in my scrapbook from November's cruises. It was a good day. I hope yours was the same! (Alan, it goes without saying that yours was a good day - how could it NOT be when one is at AKL?!)

Glad you got some stuff done, feels good.

When I arrived home from work today the naught noodle beagles had opened ALL the prezzys under the tree, what a mess!!!!!
No damage done except they trashed all there own prezzys, all the other stuff was dicarded when they realized it was clothes etc!
I did see the funny side cause Len done all the wrapping.:rotfl:

Boy, oh boy, I can sure picture this happening---that is why we leave our wrapped gifts on top of the dining room table---so our short-legged corgis don't get into any extra trouble---they think that just because something is on their level, it is automatically theirs!

You are sooo lucky that you have someone who likes to wrap gifts---my husband really really tried---just once---but failed miserably---I sometimes wonder if he did it on purpose----so I am the one to wrap all of the gifts---even my own---and no, I don't peek---really, honestly, that box top slipped open on accident;)

Too funny - but I would not think so if Walter (choc lab, and no, I didn't name him) did that. I never put his gifts under the tree until we open them so that doesn't happen.

Walter is really pretty good but why tempt fate? I did put gifts under the tree last year, except his food items and he didn't bother anything. But, he is also crated when we all leave.

Well, time to fight the snow/blowing wind and ice to get home. Everyone stay safe and warm. We are heading to the teens tonight - it has hovered around 30 all day.

Be careful going home, Gail. Everyone in the storm that's "gripping the nation" please travel with caution!

Thats a shame, you have to wrap your own prezzys???

If I can see it or steal it(beagle>smell it) Its mine !

They used to be in a crate but we never had much room for 2 so we stopped, I think Walter is a cool name, Ruby is so sensative but Orly , doesnt give a flying hoot about anything, devil may care! here he is.......

After "the Santa years" mom had me wrap all the Christmas presents, including any of mine that were in plain boxes. Never peeked :sad2:, didn't want to ruin my Christmas!

I have a huge tub of wrapping paper, ribbons, bows and other 'toppers' and NO gifts to wrap this year! :guilty: We're just going to do some activities together this year while sis is visiting instead of buying 'stuff'.

LOVE that the puppies opends their presents (and everyone elses)!

Going on vacation Thursday for a week at Hilton Head, South Carolina.

Have a good week, everyone, and for those who celebrate:

Happy Hanukkah

The biggest challenge getting home last night was cleaning the car off from what happened during the day yesterday - just slow and steady and I got home, no issues. I even followed the plow for a few miles. We did get more overnight but it is the light fluffy kind (it is only 16 out) so it wasn't too bad this morning.

Orly is adorable - absolutely adorable but, like a child, aren't they always when they are asleep??

This would be Walter in front of the tree last year (red eye is easy to fix, gold eye, not so much)

And this is Walter chasing snowballs along with Drew, my youngest DS, being the snowball maker.

Take care all, for those travelling, travel blessings and have an awesome time. As for the rest of us, we can keep each other company here.

Why IS it that your "he is very handsome" just makes me smile and be all proud?? I have kids and dogs and it pleases me to no end when people comment favorably on any of them. Thank-you so much.

And handsome - we have had dalmatians, greyhounds (rescued), chihuahuas, and all sorts of things but he IS handsome and about the sweetest dog I have ever had. I was the one that insisted we get him but he as become DH's best buddy.

I love that the beagles unwrapped all the gifts! But also glad I don't have to re-wrap them!

We are mean dog owners as ours is an outside dog - except in extreme weather situations. But she does sleep in a crate.

We are due more rain tonight. Guess the cows will appreciate it. Gonna run out for some more shopping and groceries then come hunker down.

For all on DL or WDW trips - ENJOY!!

I have sooo got the itch to go see the Holiday Decorations at Disneyland. Just can't do it this year.

Getting excited for our cruise! After Christmas is cleared out its cruise planning time!! Please don't be scared - other than lots of questions I am pretty harmless! Gotta get the cousins geared up also. Still no stateroom assignment.

Be safe all!

Have been busy lately. Went to DC last week for a funeral at Arlington. Very moving. Glad we were there last week and not this week. We are on the Carnival Dream 1 month from Sat still no cabin assignment. Throwing a baby shower tonight at work. Trying to decide how many days at DL. We went a few years back after our Hawaii cruise. It was pretty crowded and now that we are going over Presidents weekend just not sure how many days. I am thinking maybe 2. But it is going to eat my points up.

Hey, you live in CA, I would live outside in Ca! never mind the dog

We're mean CA dog owners too, except our two dogs have a choice of two dog houses. One is a converted kids playhouse (8' x 10') complete with door and windows and the other is a large regular dog house in the patio area. We have one male yellow Lab and the other is a female Border Collie/Brittany Spaniel mix and she rules the roost.

On the bright side I finally started X-mas shopping last night! :santa:

When we gave gifts, my dh would wrap mine - but he'd use about half a roll of tape on each one - taping the seams down TOTALLY so it was necessary to destroy the paper to get it off. Now you have to understand, I was a folder and saver, so you KNOW he did it on purpose, although he SAID it was so I wouldn't peek. Apparently peeking was quite prevalent in his family. I would NEVER peek because pleasant surprises are too few and far between.

I love to wrap too - and have a ton of wrappings to do it with, even though I haven't bought any for years. But the kids (adult) prefer checks, so nothing to wrap. I should just donate it and get it out of the house.

Hope you have a lovely time. Do you golf? Are you staying at the Disney resort? What will you do there? (We spent 4 days there last year and couldn't wait to leave, but we don't golf. :confused3

Thank you!

We'll be heading to Disneyland this weekend for a very chilly -- and I HOPE not rainy -- mouseadventure.

Shoshie, hope YOU have a great time too! Are you staying in one of the Disney hotels?

Not much happening here. Wind is blowing a gale, so the windchill is in the low 20's even though the sun is out. Brrrrrr.

PS. The pups are cute! My dad had a chocolate lab when we came back home after the military.

Warning - Sad story: Rusty was a special dog. Dad went in the hospital just before Christmas 1990. My husband was playing with Rusty in the diningroom - she yipped once and went still. Bruce heaved her up and into the truck (she weighed 80 pounds) and I drove like a madwoman to the vet but she was dead. We came home and got a call from the hospital. Dad had pancreatic cancer and was dead in a month. I always wondered if there was a connection.

Hello all!! Been pretty busy around here decorating, shopping and getting ready for Christmas. We have parties and get togethers coming up. It is a very busy time of year. I just wanted to check in and say hi!!

Happy Hanukkah to all those who celebrate!! I hope you have a wonderful holiday!!

Hey everyone,
Didn't disappear, got caught up in finals. I managed (have absolutely no idea how) to get an A in my healthcare finance managerial class. Me, who could never balance a checkbook. Waiting on my other grade to be posted.
Sorry about the beagles eating their Christmas presents. We have a fence for our tree partly because of the dogs and partly because of the toddler....
