Did anyone attend the Christening of the Wonder or Magic? Just wondering what it is like. Did they get delayed from their original dates? We were not as big of Disney buffs when those came out. I'll be disappointed if we miss the Dream but we can always catch the Fantasy in 2012.

It will be very interesting to see what the price will be for the inaugural cruise! :scared1:

Thanks for the heads up on booking the hotel. Feel good about getting that done.

Is anyone collecting names etc. to see who is going on the WB Repo? I know this is a long way off yet, but We're Looking Forward To It Already!

Yes, and thanks to Tigfanjeff we even have our own website!! http://www.wonderpanama2011.com/

PM him to have your info added.

I just booked the Radisson also (for the 5th). I've never stayed by the port the night before the cruise, usually I'm at a WDW resort or the Hyatt.

.

We've never stayed at the port either. We usually just drive over in the morning. My in-laws will be driving us to the port like they did last PC cruise. It will be nice to be completely packed and ready to go the day before and just relax in the hotel room, especially if there might be a lot of traffic going to the port that day. It will also be nice for them to be able to go back to hotel and relax or spend time in the pool waiting for us to leave. And hopefully see some other things. ;)

Marilyn, I think it's the only one that is accepting reservations this far out!

I'm using it as a fall back plan.

Also, edited the link above.

Off to the shower to get ready for work!

Is the Radisson the best one to stay at?

"best" is subjective.... I've stayed there pre-cruise, and been comfortable, especially with the shuttle to the port; but staying at DW starts your vacation off with an extra day or two of Disney magic. I've booked at the Radisson for this one just in case there are activities going on that I'd like to see, but will switch to Port Orleans FQ if it appears that there's no need to be at the port a day early. Good luck!

Like Jeff said we're staying onsite the night before, hopefully at BLT. Staying near the port is nice, but it will be nicer not to have to drive to the port! We'll leave the cars at my in laws/ at WDW and my FIL will drive them/ it back to Tampa for us.

I know our little group will be staying on site. Not sure about useing DCL to get to the port yet. Since their is 10 of us it may be a lot cheeper to get a van or something. Also we are looking at a Grand Villia for the night.

We're looking at a Grand Villa at Bay Lake, where are you looking?

Radisson wouldn't book that far out on line, so I telephoned. Thanks for the heads up! I wouldn't have thought of it.

I think it's a matter of preference. Not sure if any one is better than the other. We stayed at CI&S last year before the cruise and loved it. We are now booked at the Radison because they let you reserve sooner than the others. Thanks for the heads up everyone!!

Count me in......well actually it will be Me, my hubby and my two girls ages 4 and 5. We booked this cruise while on board our last Disney Cruise this October. We figured it will be very cool to go to Florida and end up about 15 minutes from HOME in LA. We live here in Rossmoor (Los Alamitos) California so the idea of one way plane tickets and a 15 night DISNEY cruise was just to good to pass up. Very excited!!!!!

We'll be using DVC to stay either on site at WDW or Vero Beach for a day or two before the cruise.

Can anyone recommend a nice hotel within walking distance of DL? In 2005 we stayed on the Queen Mary one night and then 1 night at the Park Inn just outside DL. I was thinking about booking the GC with our DVC points but would like other options. Looking at the 2010 points chart it woudl equal over $500 for a studio for 2 nights! It just seems like it might be a waste of points when there are many cheap hotels within walking distance. Park Inn was just okay but I’m looking for a little bit of a step up. We just need a place to sleep, nothing fancy. If we were staying for a week, I would definitely book the GC but for 1 or 2 nights, just not sure. We will either be at the parks all day or taking a drive along the coast.

Any other recommendation for things to do close to the port or DL?

Hey WeLUV: my family and friend are fans of HoJo -- across Harbor from the Main Entrance to DLR -- maybe a 10 minute walk. Nice rooms! Their theme is "retro family fun." :cool2:

DisNavalMan and I are probably going to book Port Orleans (but he talked about splurging a bit and having a night at Yacht or Beach the night before). We plan to head to DTD the night before (family ritual). We get giddy on the DCL coach down to the port, so I think we'll be staying on property.
