Fantasmic here is way more magical. They did not build a theater for it all of the light comes from underground. You stand to watch it. We have just goten HD projectors, a new full bodied dragon, and we have a Peter Pan scene on the Columbia. No Pocahantas scene, no Jafar scene. Also I don't know if it will be running in Nov. I know it is due for it's refurb to clean out the gas tubes underwater for the burning river effect. It was to be going on right now but it did get pushed back. Just double check.
Thanks- I did check and it says there are 2 Fantasmic shows on November 11 when I'll be there...I was hoping they would have fireworks even though its a weekday because it is a day off from school for most kids (Veterans day), but no fireworks on the schedule, yet anyways : ( But at least the park hours are extended 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM which is good.

You didn't say though, how far in advance of the show time would I have to wait to get a good spot to view the Fantasmic?

Go to show two. People start holding spots at like 4 or 5 for the first one.

Hi all, back from vacation. Give me some time to get through the PM's and get the site going as well as read through the e-mails and posts.

Welcome to newbies. Hope you all find us a fun bunch.

TIMETORUN--I have family in Seattle. Love your neck of the woods.

To my southern californian disers, I am ready for a meet. I will be at DL November 6-8 staying at PP. Another cruising family is having a birthday party for their one-year old grandson and gpa. I have never experienced the b-day festivities at Minnie's breakfast place. I have seen the characters and heard the songs.

This cruise is a combination retirement trip for DH and possible vow renewal for us.:love: Gotta start looking to the boards and gleaning some shared experiences. It will be 30 years for us. I hope some of our sons can come but who knows if they will be married or working or what. I am such an advance planner. I am thinking of booking just an inside cabin for whoever can come.

ALADDIN show--it is a gem. You can't miss it.

FANTASMIC--I love the show. I have the CD and am always playing it in the car after a long day at work. How it helps me relax before I get into the BAY AREA traffic :scared1::scared1:, but nothing compares to LA traffic.

You guys are doing awesome works on the graphics; I am in the I can't decide boat. I want it all.

Have a good evening everyone.

One thing to keep in mind with DL Fantasmic: Fronteriland is a one-way into the area, Adventureland is a one-way in.

There is a fireworks between the two showings (typically), so if you want to see the fireworks AND the second fantasmic, make sure you are watching from near Frontierland. :thumbsup2

Met with friends yesterday who are cruising with us - we all watched the DCL DVD, too.

And ditto on the losing weight thing (I need the 15 months).

Hi there...I saw you were thinking about doing a vow renewal. We did one on the 2008 EBPC...you may already know this but in case you don't .. they only do 2 vow renewals on the ships and 1 on CC..no matter how long the cruise is.

They said you can call a year out but I would start checking now and confirm that info. It was a magical experience and we loved it. The Captain officiates the ceremony.

If you have any questions-let me know.

They're getting our ship ready. Taken yesterday in Freeport.

Doesn't she look nekkid without the lifeboats?

.

I guess this means we'll be on a refurbished ship when we sail on the 18th. That will be "kewl!"

Yes, you must report back here IMMEDIATELY with all the info about the Cove Cafe and Outlook bar renovations. :thumbsup2 With photos! That's your vacation assignment. :lmao:

Hello,

This is my first post on this site/forum. I have been a lurker for a while, but when I found this thread, I decided to join. :)

My family and I are going on the PC cruise in Jan 2011. We are booked, deposit paid, and now we are just waiting.

We went on our first Disney cruise this past July (7 day western) and became completely hooked on Disney Cruises! We loved it so much that we booked our second cruise while we were on the ship (got the 10% discount and on board credit) and are going on our second cruise Jan 30. 2010 -7 day eastern). The PC cruise will be our 3rd Disney cruise.

We live in Seattle, WA, and DH and I have 2 boys.... currently age 8 (almost 9) and age 7. So, on the PC cruise, they will be 8 and 10. We are pulling them out of school for the 2 weeks, but we've already talked with the school, and they are supportive, and our boys are very excited about the idea of this cruise. So, all is in our favor. We'll have a test run of pulling them out of school in Jan 2010 when we do our 7-day Eastern cruise, and see how that goes, but I expect it'll be fine (they are currently 2nd and 3rd grade, so for the PC cruise, they will be 3rd and 4th grade).

We are so excited about this cruise, as going through the Panama Canal has been something on our list we've wanted to do. So, it's just a bonus we can do it with Disney. We love to travel as a family, so we are now hooked on doing a lot of our traveling with Disney Cruises! We have been on other ships, and the other ships, in our opinion, just do not compare to Disney in terms of the wholesome family environment, which we really like. Plus, we just felt it was top notch service! :)

Oh, and we are Cat. 9A on deck 7 for the PC cruise. Looking forward to being part of this thread.

Hi and WELCOME to this cruise and the DISboards!! We're glad to have you! Please post your names and I'll add you to post #1!

Oh, can you also report if they have added Ocean Quest so that the kids clubs are the same as on the Magic?

I'm holding out hope that they will add a fireworks show on Veterans day when I'll be there. So if they do, are you saying that it would be probably between the 2 Fantasmic shows? They are at 9:00 and 10:30. So what time would the fireworks likely be, 9:30?

ChipperMerlin I'm glad this is your assignment...we'll be on the Wonder the next month in Nov. and inquiring minds want to know. :thumbsup2

Ooops -- last post should have said: Adventureland is a one-way OUT of the area (but gets very congested at night).

Fireworks are 9:25 :wizard:

I didn't see any fireworks scheduled for Sat Nov 7th (nor the couple of Saturdays I checked for this month). I'm not happy about that. :sad1: And don't understand why not. Why two Fantasmics and no fireworks???

.

Many times the DL website for entertainment isn't updated until 2-4 weeks out. It drives us planners crazy.

Actually right now fireworks are called "Halloween Screams" -- they end on Nov. 1.

There won't be any fireworks after than until the Xmas fireworks -- which will be up at the end of Novemeber.

It is possible that in Jan 2011 -- there might not be fireworks if they are between shows.

Ohhh, I want to see photos! We got married at WDW last October! How romantic. I would love to have a vow renewal during our PC cruise but that would be quite silly since we will have only been married for 2 years.

Can't wait!! We sail 11/29 and I can't wait to explore. Last cruise we were on the Magic.

Last November when we were there they did have the fireworks on the weekend but they were cancelled our whole trip because of Santa Ana winds.
