My DH is pretty handy with graphics so I asked him to come up with something for me, I like it :goodvibes

PanamaCruiseGraphic-1.jpg

I am so impressed with all the graphics, I wish I was creative, but sadly I'm rubbish :rotfl2: I've got to say that I really like this one, you've got a very talented DH

Randy, we're thinking of checking in Friday that we get off the Wonder and staying until Wed or Thurs.

Tammy

We are planning on staying until Thursday as well :cool1: Hopefully we will be able to use points for a villa at the Grand.

Thanks! I would've never thought Indiana Jones would be that different. I guess I have lots of research to do.:surfweb:

Indiana Jones at DL is a ride similar to Dinosaur at AK, it's not the stunt show that we have at Hollywood Studios.

Wow, Cathy, how did you manage to lurk for 8 years and keep you mouth shut the whole time? :confused3:confused3

I agree, this cruise is really special and trust me, as things get closer it will be hard to keep up with the thread (there are those like me who think it's sometimes hard to keep up NOW!) so jump in now and post like crazy. That's how we're all going to get to know each other before the cruise.

Oh, and to add my greeting, WELCOME! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:
I'm a little shy and didn't think I had anything to add, but I'm going to try and keep up with this thread until the cruise.

Cathy

The drops are random at WDW, but I believe they aren't at DL.

Yes, they are random at DL. I prefer the DL version...no wasting time on the elevator moving forward...get right into those drops! :scared1:

Also people mentioned seeing Aladdin at DCA. This is a show in the Hyperion Theater, not a ride. It's fabulous, Broadway quality!:thumbsup2

I have a new favorite graphic. Zackerdog's dh's graphic is awesome. It's simple so it will work good in any format and is generic enough for male or female shirts.

I would be willing to coordinate FE gifts for our new friends living abroad who would like to participate without lugging gifts across the ocean. A thought on getting your FE gifts home. . . Maybe one of our California cruisers could ship them to your home. Just a thought.

Why can't tomorrow be January 6, 2011?

Hello,

This is my first post on this site/forum. I have been a lurker for a while, but when I found this thread, I decided to join. :)

My family and I are going on the PC cruise in Jan 2011. We are booked, deposit paid, and now we are just waiting.

We went on our first Disney cruise this past July (7 day western) and became completely hooked on Disney Cruises! We loved it so much that we booked our second cruise while we were on the ship (got the 10% discount and on board credit) and are going on our second cruise Jan 30. 2010 -7 day eastern). The PC cruise will be our 3rd Disney cruise.

We live in Seattle, WA, and DH and I have 2 boys.... currently age 8 (almost 9) and age 7. So, on the PC cruise, they will be 8 and 10. We are pulling them out of school for the 2 weeks, but we've already talked with the school, and they are supportive, and our boys are very excited about the idea of this cruise. So, all is in our favor. We'll have a test run of pulling them out of school in Jan 2010 when we do our 7-day Eastern cruise, and see how that goes, but I expect it'll be fine (they are currently 2nd and 3rd grade, so for the PC cruise, they will be 3rd and 4th grade).

We are so excited about this cruise, as going through the Panama Canal has been something on our list we've wanted to do. So, it's just a bonus we can do it with Disney. We love to travel as a family, so we are now hooked on doing a lot of our traveling with Disney Cruises! We have been on other ships, and the other ships, in our opinion, just do not compare to Disney in terms of the wholesome family environment, which we really like. Plus, we just felt it was top notch service! :)

Oh, and we are Cat. 9A on deck 7 for the PC cruise. Looking forward to being part of this thread.

Tenya, that's an awesome idea! I'd be happy to help ship stuff home for our far-flung cruisers.

But I'm glad tomorrow isn't January 6! I have way too much organizing and preparing to do before the cruise! Besides, I have a 2-week European vacation coming up in 2 weeks, and I have to get through that first. (So why am I wasting time here?? Because it's fun! Besides, there's no DISboard for a trip to England and France except for DLP (and we're only spending a day there!)) Sure do hate that I have to actually do research for that trip and can't just come on and ask what fellow DISers have done!

Good to hear from you! We, like you, got hooked on cruising with Disney. We went from 4-night to 7-night, to now 15-night. :goodvibes

Us Central FL Dis'ers will have to do a meet as well!

As Far as DL after the cruise, we won't be able as we get off Friday, Fly back to Orlando, then back to work on Saturday possibly or Monday depending on # of Days I will have to take from work and # left.

Yes, the Aladdin show is great fun. Genie's dialogue is changed to be topical when appropriate. We saw it again last month and loved the new "twitter" joke.

I prefer Turtle Talk With Crush at Disneyland over the one at Epcot. Can't really say why, but perhaps it's the seating arrangements.

BTW, glad the Dodgers finally won. Maybe they'll be playing my Angels for the World Series. Just think - a freeway series!

Carol, THAT is Fabulous! Oh boy, houston we have a problem. I like this one as well as the lock doors one. :confused3

It's my DH Jeff who is doing the website. He won't be logging onto dis until we get back from WDW tomorrow. So I would expect him to answer his PMs on Monday at the earliest.

He doesn't have a pm from me, Babe! I've forgotten what is DISname is (old lady, here, you know) so I CAN't pm him!

I would be willing to coordinate FE gifts for our new friends living abroad who would like to participate without lugging gifts across the ocean.

Awesome. Please pm me and I will get you access to the spreadsheet.

Why can't tomorrow be January 6, 2011?
Because
1- too much to do to get ready
2- gotta save up the money to pay for it
3- gotta have time for the diet to work!

Happy Day, all!

Ah, but you see, Linda and Tracy, if tomorrow were Jan 6, 2011 we would have already enjoyed all our vacations/holidays, paid for the cruise, and lost weight!

We'll be coming straight back to Texas after the cruise, no DL for us. I can't stand to be a way from from home and my precious Duchess cat for too long.

Welcome newbies!

Just wanted to point out the DLR version of TOT does NOT have random drops. It has the same drop sequence in all three elevators. It has not changed. I will note that the order of things I'd different in the far right elevator, but the drops are the same. If they have random drops there, then I must be the most unlucky person on the planet as I get tbe same drops every time I go on. The reason I said skip it, is because you can tell we have a budgeted down version of the TOT. It just is not nearly as good as the WDW version. If you skip it you don't miss out on much. Also remember in 2011 DCA should still be a counstruction zone in Jan. 2011. All of the redo of the park will not be done till summer 2012.

I live right next to LAX in Wrstchester. I guess that is good since I work there. I would love to do a few meets at DLR before. I go a lot on Fridays. When it comes to my DLR tips for those who have never beeb but have been to the FL parks are the following:

1: The Matterhorn. You can't ride it anywere but here.

2: POTC. Sorry WDW people this one blows yours away. (And this from the Guy who hates the POTC movies).

3: Go on our version of Buzz. The hand held guns are way better than the ones that are stuck to the car at WDW.

4: Make sure you see the Sleeping Beauty Dioramas inside the Castle. Very impressive.

5: Skip our TOT. For you WDW people I think you will just laugh at ours. Yours is way better.

6: Last one for now. See our Fantasmic. Sorry WDW people. This one blows yours right out of the water, especialy with our enhahancements and awesome new dragon. Sorry I have seen your version once and will never go again.

That's it. I got to run to watch the Dodgers finaly win the NL west.
Can someone please explain to me what Fantasmic is like at DLR? I've only been to the WDW one once, and I hated the experience- huge, long lines to get into the ampitheater, then sitting and waiting for what seemed like forever once inside...and I thought the show was just okay, I haven't been back to see it in years, as I much prefer Illuminations in Epcot or the fireworks in Magic Kingdom.

I am going to DLR in November and I'm wondering if I should check out Fantasmic or not? What makes it better than WDW version? Where is it shown, is there like a seating area or is it a "stand and watch" thing like the fireworks? how early would I have to arrive and wait for the show?

Thanks for the advice!

Fantasmic here is way more magical. They did not build a theater for it all of the light comes from underground. You stand to watch it. We have just goten HD projectors, a new full bodied dragon, and we have a Peter Pan scene on the Columbia. No Pocahantas scene, no Jafar scene. Also I don't know if it will be running in Nov. I know it is due for it's refurb to clean out the gas tubes underwater for the burning river effect. It was to be going on right now but it did get pushed back. Just double check.

We probably won't be going to DL. We will be go to Arizona to see our DD. Hopefully, won't have to go back to work, cause husband should be early retired by the cruise. So PC is our retirement party.:woohoo:
