I can't have alcohol any more so will have to be checking out the non alcoholic options!!

My wife and I are right there with you and the non alcoholic options!

Just off the new Carnival Dream it was amazing! But still love to cruise with the mice!

We also wanted to try the other "Dream," it really does look fun! Doing the Freedom in Oct '10, our cruise on the Wonder Jan '11 and the Disney Dream in Aug '11. All three ships are new to us we haven't been on any of them yet!

Have all my fellow Californians heard the rain and snow is coming? Should be an interesting 1-2 weeks. Hope everyone stays safe!

We need the rain, so I don't mind. It is supposed to be an El Nino year, so I was expecting more rain than normal this year. (Flip side, less hurricanes in FL last year :thumbsup2 )

Hello cruisers!

I am so sorry.. took leave of my senses and missed the weather report for today! Had a Girl Scout Cookie Kickoff event and left early this morning!

The temperature for today was 78 degrees! Tomorrow we arrive in Manzanillo!

Hope you enjoy dinner tonight!

Thanks for all the good wishes for DH's appointment yesterday. He did increase his blood pressure medicine (he was taking the weakest), told him he should loose about 60 pounds and said he would see us in a year! He listened to his heart and said he could hardly hear the murmur. YIPPEE! David and I could both stand to loose 60 pounds each so we shall see how that goes. Maybe I have found a walking buddy.

Well, we are off to the Amish grocery store - hope I can stay away from the baked goods!

Enjoy your Saturday!

Hooray for the good news! I'd like to lose 60## more, Gail. I'll join!

So glad to hear the good news following the doctor's visit! :cool1:

I'm trying to avoid all talk on the Dis about girl guide biscuits. There are none to be seen in Taiwan! We only used to get 2 kinds inf NZ anyway (plain and chocolate) so I already had flavour jealousy. I remember putting butter and honey on the plain kind as a kid and throwing them in the microwave...mmm.....

Hello,

I'm just popping in to say hi. :) I first posted here in October to add my name to the list of PC Cruisers for Jan. 2011, but got really busy with the holidays, so this is my first post since Oct.

Just saying Hi and even though the PC cruise is a year away (well, a little less than a year away now), we're SO excited!

We are going on the 1/30 7-day Eastern in a couple weeks on the Magic. Can't wait!! We're very ready for some sun and warmth!

Take care everyone. ;)

Carol,

Thank you for your reply. I was worried it would get lost. For a vacation a year from now, we are a talkative bunch.

I have a rule against going backwards, so if we did this, there would be no backing out. It was very helpful seeing your pictures holes and all.

Would you do this again?

Katherine

Yes, she'll be doing this again!!:thumbsup2

To answer Katherine's question; yes I would do it again. To answer Denise; I knew you were planning on it, didn't know you were taking us along. :confused3:rotfl: DH did just say that he thought there may be a weight limit. I just looked up a zip-line excursion in Cozemel (they don't have ours out yet) and the restrictions are ages 10+ and 300 lbs. I imagine they will be pretty much the same for any of the zip-lines. Hope this helps.

Carol

Again, thanks for all the well wishes for DH's visit and results. It makes me a tad nervous (having had to cancel our reunion cruise back in '07 because he had his spinal fusion and I had to stay home and take care of him) and if something had to be done - it would have been done and him all better by December this year. But - all is well.

Hooray for the good news! I'd like to lose 60## more, Gail. I'll join!
You are on sister! Although getting the exercise and avoiding the sweets are my biggest challenges. I so love chocolate but can't seem to stop if there is any around. David just made himself a salad (good and probably not that bad that it was 4 cups of lettuce) but he likes his salads really wet with dressing - really wet. Portion control is an issue here - with both of us. I am not a lettuce fan and if I eat salad - it is full of hard boiled eggs, ham and cheese which probably defeats the purpose. We shall see.

OK, didn't mean to get so far off topic. I hope that everyone is having a grand Sunday - sun is shining but it is only in the 20's out there. No snow in our forecast for the week, at this point anyway. DH seems to be eating that salad and watching football so guess I will see what mischief I can get in as far as port research goes.

Take care!

Carol,

What are you and Doug trying to say?!?! I only weigh 125 and have the official government document to prove it!!:lmao::lmao: Even still, well under the 300# limit. After cutting out white sugar, I lost and managed to keep off 11 #s. Now, I'm trying to eliminate salt. We'll see if that helps too.

Not saying anything. Just giving information. :goodvibes

Good Morning cruisers!

Welcome to Manzanillo, Mexico! The high for today will be 82 degrees and partly cloudy.

Manzanillo is a sister city of the U.S. cities of Flagstaff, Arizona; San Pablo, California; and Saint Paul, Minnesota.

The drink of the day is the Green Flash! (Okay..Idon't know if there really is a drink called that but sounds good!)

Mazanillo is known for thier deep sea fishing and the green flash that appears at sunset...watch for it!

Everyone has to be back onboard at 9:30 PM tonight!

Oooh, a later all aboard. Must be more to do here.

I'm liking the temperatures on the trip. Hope they are similar next year. I didn't expect such good temperatures at this time of year.

There is a drink called the green flash! I found it..

3 Parts Green Chartreuse
1 Part Light Rum
3 Parts Lime Juice
2 Parts Simple Syrup
Soda Water

Fill a shaker with ice cubes. Add green chartreuse, light rum, lime juice and simple syrup. Shake and strain into a chilled highball glass filled with ice cubes. Top up with soda water.

I love these posts! In my (very) active day dreaming life, I've been trying to get my head around the idea of a fifteen day vacation.

For fifteen days I will not have to make breakfast, lunch, dinner or snacks for my family.

For fifteen days I will not have to vacuum the floors, dust or clean.

For fifteen days I will not have to wash, fold, or put away laundry. (I may not get out of that one) :laundy:

For those of you have done this before, how on earth do you go back to real life?

I was fairly demented after our 7 day western, but this may make me psychotic. :scared1::scared1::scared1:

The trip sound wonderful, but then I get to go back to 5 months of craziness at work for budget season and year-end. Oh goodie! :rolleyes1

DH and I (along with LindaBabe and her DH Bruce too) did a back to back on the Magic and I will say, reality was pretty difficult but not as bad I had thought. I only waited at the kitchen table a few days for someone to put a napkin in my lap and cook my dinner :confused3. I took my time unpacking but we got back right before Thanksgiving so I could only put it off so long as I cooked the turkey dinner. Laundry - I have already resigned myself to the fact that I will have to do that. Guess we could always send it out, or maybe some of it as I just can't send my unmentionables. Sorry, that might have been TMI.

I will say the those 15 days will fly by too fast. In 1999 I went with my Dad on a 15 day Australia/New Zealand cruise, no DH, no kids so a true vacation. By the end I was pretty happy to get back to my family and I'm sure my DH was happy to not be the kids driver to all their sports events.

We did the EB Repo in 2008.. and have also been on a 2 week cruise to Hawaii and back... I know that last year..coming back to reality was pretty hard .. as for the laundry..I had to do it on our last cruise..I just don't own that many clothes!

Hello fellow cruisers!!!!!!!

I was just thinking...has anyone heard anything more on whether the Dream might make an appearance in Port Canaveral before our cruise? :confused3

Just hoping for a very memorable event to start a very memorable cruise. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
