From WDW to DL With Love - January 06, 2011 part 5

jealous! (i am) although as i sit here i remember our free flying friends flying to about 4 places to get from dallas to dc cause flights were fairly sold out for weeks and they had a wedding to get to. luckily they left dallas VERY early!:goodvibes:goodvibes for you alan

Thanks for the goodvibes. I know I will get there Tuesday, no doubt about that. The big question is when?

My major cruise packing and repacking starts saturday (after DH and DD#3 leave to drive to Green Bay for the Packers/Bears game at Lambeau Field on Sunday). We will have Christmas Decorations down by then I will probably relaunder all the stuff as I put it in- to get as many wrinkles out as possible. (Maybe I'll find my wrinkle release to pack too) I'm waiting until then since we will be buying new luggage today (hopefully). DH will get his stuff out to so I can work with it since he'll get back on Monday and have to work and has a church meeting Tuesday. I'm working at some Basketball games at the local HS on Tuesday night just to keep my mind off the trip. Hopefully that will get me a good night sleep on Tuesday night so I can enjoy WDW on Wednesday.

DS, who lives in town, will be stopping and staying here while we're gone so I don't have to worry about mail or newspaper. My charge card bill should be in the mailbox today or tomorrow so when I pay that I'll also call them and let them know about the cruise. Am I forgetting anything?

PD for Bandit!

I would like to buy laundry detergent ahead of time for the cruise, we are stopping at Publix to pick up some other things so I figured I might as well grab it there instead of overpriced onboard. Does it matter if it is liquid or powder? Any suggestions?

Hi! Spent 6 hrs at 2 different vets this morning and our corgi Bandit needs a spleenectomy. Sigh. He is 13 1/2 and is usually very peppy---not this morning---wouldn't get up and won't eat---x-rays show a mass on his spleen. The earliest they can open him up is on Thursday. Our breeder will be watching our dogs while we are on the trip and she will take great post-op care of him. I am just really worried that there will be a rupture before Thursday and he'll die. I am so not ready to say good-bye to my Ban-dog! He won't eat the chicken and rice I just cooked for him but he will eat cheese. This is so hard!

Tom just tried on his black suit he purchased for my mom's funeral 16 years ago and guess what---it doesn't fit! So I sent him off to Macy's to find a black suit. Sigh.

I am far from ready for this cruise!!!!!!

I would like to participate in the scavenger hunt---I can even pick up some 1st, 2nd, 3rd place ribbons if needed---just let me know.

Des---I have the empty lanyard pouch---you sent it to me for measuring the nametags---so it goes with one of our 2 lanyards.

I also have a question about the secret mickey---do we bring one last gift to the reveal?

I can also provide a list of the January birthdays that I know of---I am bringing something extra for us January birthdays:-)

I think I'll need a lot of distracting if the worst should happen to Bandit so I plan on throwing myself into the events full force!

Could you PM me or email me a list of the Jan birthdays? I have something for them too. .. Thanks

For the last two cruises, My wife carried those launcher sheets that provide soap for the washer and a dryer sheet for the dryer. She puts 5 or 6 in a zip lock bag and packs them with the clothes. They take up almost no space, can't spill, and work. Doesn't get better than that!

I agree - I use the all in one sheets too - Purex maybe?? But, I also augment with Tide booster tablets as I had some spotty clothes when I took them out. I ran several loads at home this way and didn't have any issues. Both of these items flew with us and are in my checked luggage. In the days that I did bring powder, I also brought small sandwich bags so I could grab that instead of a huge box to go to the laundry room. For me, it worked well.

Well, I have been abandoned - both rentals, luggage and all bodies have left for the hotel. I have run a sweep of the house and all appears in order and empty. Cruise luggage and Gail are all that are left for the second trip. Sad this 'leg' is over but happy to still have a day with my family for some fun and then on to the next thing tomorrow.

Good morning, everyone! Just wanted to pop in and tell you all that I hope you have a wonderful cruise!

Happy sailing!

Or VIA which cities ;) I've got money that says you end up in the miserable mess of an airport that is Birmingham, Alabama.

There's a reason it's called Birmingham-Shuttlesworthless :)

Current Nassau forecast for Friday January 7th is a high of 76, low of 63 and Sunny. Not exactly scorching, but definitely passable beach weather :)

Hi folks!! The Supershuttle picks us up in half an hour, and we will be on our way!!! Raining here in socal, but it won't matter soon.

I'll check in here as often as possible for more info. Looking forward to celebrating our 24th anniversary on the 10th. We met on a blind date at Disneyland, got married at the Disneyland hotel, honeymooned at WDW and the Big Red Boat.

Safe travels to you all, and I'll see you soon!

Gotcha added to the list. We are up to 36 people! :thumbsup2

IMPORTANT!
If your name is Christina Toucher please PM me. Esmeralda from the PV Los Veranos canopy tour has someone by that name booked for same time as our excursion but they did not mention the "Dawn Disney Group". If I don't hear from you, you will not be part of our group.

There are zero Christina's on the who's going list.

Alan, I couldn't cope with that at all. Are you going stand by?

I'm doing the same only on a different airline. Kinda fun sometimes....just have to be flexible and know your airlines schedule and trend. I think we'll fly to Phoenix on Sunday and fly to MCO on Monday. That way if we miss Monday we still have Tues and Wed. And if all else fails, I'll use my Rewards points on SWA!

It's getting CLOSE.......:banana::banana::banana:

For the last cruise I had the small pouches of liquid tide in my luggage and it was still there when I unpacked. I'm not sure they care about the little things. My cabin mate had large bottles of lotion, shampoo, conditioner, hairspray, and other items. Made it thru okay. And when I say large....she had econo size bottles. :lmao::lmao::lmao:
