From WDW to DL With Love - January 06, 2011 part 5

Good morning all from a cloudy and rainy Los Angeles for the third day in a row and we have three mire days of rain ahead of us. It us supposed to stop Wed. My parents have their anniversary on Tuesday. Speeking of parents, yesterday mom canceled her part of the trip. Everything is fine in the long run just she will need to be home. Last night after work I went to see Tron again, but this time in the IMAX format. It was just as good the second time around.

Still cloudy and rainy up here, too. Alan, wish your folks a Happy Anniversary. Sorry we won't get to meet your mom. Glad you liked TRON - our kidlet liked it and DH is planning on seeing it on the cruise.

Today's excitement: at 9:28 am, we heard a BIG bang and the house had one sharp jolt.:scared1: Turns out that there was a magnitude 3.1 quake just 1.39 miles from our house. Wow! We've never been that close to an epicenter before. Didn't even know there was a fault at that location. Fortunately, no one seems to be hurt, and nothing fell off the shelves at nearby stores. If you were in a car, you didn't feel it - as Goofprincess reported. (For those of you familiar with our area, the epicenter was right behind Rancho Shopping Center in Los Altos.) I am happy to have small earthquakes, rather than one like the Loma Prieta quake of 1989, which caused part of the Bay Bridge to collapse, etc.

Des, hope you were able to find homes for the puppies. I'd love to have another dog, but until I stay home for any length of time, it's not feasible.

Goofprincess's son's wedding was wonderful. We had such a good time. I'll let the "mother of the groom" fill everyone in on the details.:yay:

Kay, Heathrow and Gatwick are a right mess right now. They can't seem to get everything cleared and hardly any flights have gone for 2 days now. People all over the place, and this such a busy weekend.

We are flying from Manchester, up north, so who knows how it will be. It has been ok so far this winter though. We do have to drive over the Pennines(hills) though to get there. I think Lynne will be doing an internal flight down to Gatwick, so slightly more to worry about as Scottish airports have had a bad few weeks too.

Not a fun winter so far. Thank you for keeping your fingers and toes crossed though. You can have a day or two off doing that over Christmas though!!!:lmao:

Just checked the latest info on Heathrow - 10 hours ago posting - says no flights until tomorrow. We're worried about our friend who is supposed to leave London Tuesday morning. She has a lay-over here at SFO - on her way to New Zealand - so I am planning (hoping) to get to spend Wednesday with her. However, from what I'm reading, it's doubtful she will get out. Sigh. Poor thing - she really needs this vacation.

I hope all the UK members of the cruise stay safe and warm!:grouphug:

Morning all,

Survived the weekend - my family on Sat., and DH's parents Sun., as well as work both nights. Thankfully I've got the day off today. Only two 6 hour shifts to go :)

Thinking of you all with the snow - with DH being such a football supporter, we've been shocked at the conditions they've been playing in. I hope the airports are sorted out quicksmart !

We've got bizarre weather today too - very windy, dry, and cold ! The windchill has us sitting at about 8C / 45F. Unheard of for the middle of Summer !

Anyway, hope everyone's OK - I've got to make the most of today - need to buy one more suitcase, and start packing !

4 sleeps to go :)

Cheers,
Sally :)

soon.

LindaBabe, Happy Anniversary!!!

Sherri,
wand.gif
for your daughter and prayers that she's feeling better soon.

We took the kids to see Tangled today. And when we got home I finally cleared off the bed in the guest room so I can start packing there. Got the suitcases out, now just have to fill them up. Tomorrow morning I'm excited to say I'm going to learn how to use my new DSLR camera DH gave me for Hanukkah. I'm hoping to take awesome photos on the cruise; well wistful thinking anyway.

Oh, I didn't notice that one. Must have dissipated before it got here :thumbsup2

Totally agree with you on the 'lots of little ones' ideal. Much prefer that.

Linda & Bruce-congrats on your anniversary. We will be 44 in June.

It is another rainy, cool day here in "sunny FL". I have to get my FE gifts in numerical order- I am one of those people-get the SM things together etc.I am usually well prepared ahead of time but for some reason I can't get my ducks in order. I am beginning to stress out about all that has to be done.

Good thoughts to everyone who needs them

I surely wish for clear weather issues for everyone. I know what a worry that can be as we had to fly from Pittsburgh to Huston to get to Orlando one year because of snow! We made it, on time! Wouldn't want to go through that panic again, but it worked.

We are having colder than normal weather here in South Carolina & I think they would like to blame me for bringing it with me, but it is way colder at home than it is here!:lmao:

Tomorrow's schedule is grocery shopping, Curves, tanning bed, and Tron or Narnia.popcorn:: Such a delemia! Also I need to finish wrapping presents! I did decorated Liz's tree. It is fun to open someone else's ornaments!:wizard:She has so many neat ones. The house looks lovely, but she is still not completely unpacked. Well, to tell the truth, neither am I, but I just have to start packing again!:thumbsup2

Sweet Dreams!:grouphug:

Thank you, Alan for seeing Tron so many times, helps my stock go up, lol.

No problem as I own Disney stock myself, only bad part is I am hooked up at my local theater so I only paid once. Last night was on the house.

On a personal note...one of the pups went to a new home! :cool1:

We still have two of them and so we will have them for the next week at which point - they will go to a different foster home if not adopted. I was very excited she was adopted and still hoping for the other two. Would love for them to be CHristmas puppies! Thanks for everyone's good wishes. I just worry about them so much...as thou they were my own.

Yay, one adopted puppy!:woohoo: We'll keep the good thoughts coming for the other two.

Our neighbor just found out they won an award that's presented to them in Atlanta so they're going to WDW for a few nights afterwards. I was able to get them a studio at SSR for the end of January.:thumbsup2
