From WDW to DL With Love - January 06, 2011 part 4

Thank you for posting this. I am surprised that the last formal night is on the 14th, the day we are in Cabo and not the 15th, the last night. I guess because we depart early, 3:30, they decided it would be ok.

On past cruises it was determined that the room concierges were able/willing to provide the schedule information sooner and more accurately then anyone you called at DCL.

I thought maybe they didn't do it that last night because we would all be in a real hurry to pack and get our luggage out. I think not having the last night be formal night makes it much easier - ymmv.

Yep, it was me. I would love to have a meet somewhere. Glad your sis and nephews will be coming. Will the stay for trick or treating?

I'm another person in North Texas (Arlington). Would love to meet but unfortunately am out of town those dates.

but will see you on the ship!

I would imagine that's the reason.

Great Corrina, let me know and we will sort it, Edinburgh is very pretty in December.

I hope Dubai gets a move on and publishes the December roster. So far we had our own resource planning department, but Dubai will be doing our rostering for any shifts after December 4th.

It doesn't say that any more!!:sad2:

Tom Morrow has reappeared. The announcement has changed and I can't remember was exactly it says, but he is getting an announcement again.

I've been poking around and found a site that offers Disney print and I can upload the MIckey silhouette. I'm thinking of using "WDW to DL" on the front and "Panama Canal January 2011" around the back. The two will be separated by the Mickey heads. It's also an American company and offers recycled bracelets that can be individually bagged. I can get lime green and glow-in-the-dark lime green for the kids. The cost with shipping is $1.30 per bracelet.

I'm open to suggestions if anyone wants something else on the bracelet.

Since the cost is up to $1.30, I'm going to wait two weeks to order, giving new people time to order. I will hand out the bracelets and return the change at the cruise terminal. If you were kind enough to send extra money, please remind me so I can return it too.

If you would like to order a bracelet from here out they are $1.30. Please email me at tinkerbellesmom@sbcglobal, or PM me. Orders will close Nov. 10. There is an overage, so I will have extra at the terminal.

I am happy to pick mine up either at the terminal or on the ship.

Having formal night on the last night would be a nightmare for those on late seating. On our last two cruises, the baggage needed to be out between 8:00 and 10:00 PM so they would be stuck with their formals as the baggage needs to go out before dinner.

That would be me! :goodvibes Just shoot me a PM and I'll get you added.

Carmie, I put your list of locations we're staying the night before up on the first page. As soon as we decide, I'll let you know - now that I know where to find the reminder :rotfl2:

re dining.... another disser pmd me ages ago and asked if we wanted to share a table, I sent her our rezzy number after we could book palo and stuff but shes not been one for months, It seems mean of me to connect now with someone else, I hope she gets back to me, cause I dont want to miss an oppertunity to have some other table mates. We love meeting new folks and would be dissapointed if it was just the 4 of us.

Is she still on the cruise website? Jeff was dropping the people who didn't respond to him or for whom it wasn't otherwise reported that they are still on the cruise. Also, check your ressie on the cruise line website - if she DID link your ressies, it will show up there.

I did so want to see some of Costa Rica and was very excited to see that this cruise was stopping there, but we don't like long trips and it looks like all the trips are long just to get somewhere interesting. In fact John really doesn't like trips at all!!!:confused3 I think it is shame to visit somewhere and not get at least an idea of the place. If nothing else we like to get off the ship and walk around, but some places just aren't suitable for that.
. . . PV we were just got off for a walk last time and John went over to Walmart, but this time we were going to walk the 30 mins or so to the town centre, but I am not too sure about that now.

Manzanillo I'm thinking of the city tour and shopping, but that is not something John would like.

We just love being on the ship, but i like to get off occasionally.:lmao::lmao:

Listen, granmaz, any time you want to get off, you're welcome to hang out with the "4 wicked women".

We're doing the Banana Bus in Aruba, 2 are Ziplining in Costa Rica, I'm taking the train and boat tour - I figgered there'd be enough moving around and switching modes of transport on that one to keep from being bored and stiff. I forget what phyllis is doing. We're all taking the city tour in Manzanillo - so let him hang out on the boat and come shopping with US!

We "girls" (and I use the term loosely) just wanna have fun! Come out and play with US!

I'm looking for some advice for cruising in April vs. May vs. June. I posted this question on the main board but only got one response which really surprised me. I want to take my parents on the 5 night Dream cruise in 2012 for their 30th anniversary, which is June 19. There is a cruise that would overlap that which would be cool, but I'm concerned about June being in hurricane season and also it says that June is the rainiest month of the year for Bahamas, at 9 inches/month. There were dates in April and May that I was looking at too--so I was hoping to get advice from those of you who've cruised during any of these months about which one you would prefer with regard to weather. Price difference is only $500 between the lowest and highest so its not a big determining factor, I'm mostly concerned with hopefully avoiding a rainy trip and/or rough seas since my dad has never cruised.

I managed to find the new announcement online. It is now "Paging Mr Morrow, Mr Tom Morrow. Please contact Mr. Johnson from the control tower to confirm your flight to the moon" and it is indeed a female voice.

We've cruise many times in late April and early to mid May and have always had great weather. It is our preferred time to cruise for both weather and FL resident discount.
I can't help with June, never cruised then but I wouldn't worry too much about hurricanes. Technically, hurricane season is June to November BUT it is very rare to have a notable storms in June, the few times it's happened, it's been in the gulf http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/HAW2/english/history.shtml
We've cruised 2x in August and also had great weather. All 3 of our rocky cruises have been in Sept and Oct - never again!

Good morning everyone. We are headed to Ohio to see DH's mom and my folks tomorrow for the weekend. I hope to squeeze in one more trip before we leave for Florida in December but we shall see how that pans out.

Sunny, bright and breezy here today. Sure was windy yesterday though - the high wind warning is in effect through this evening so I guess it isn't over yet. It was dark when I left this morning but I did see one branch down and saw a few more on my trip in - as best as one can see in the dark anyway.
Have a good weekend and be safe.
I would like to link up with other peeps for dinner. Not necessarily to share tables (but that is OK too), but to be on the same rotation and close by. Our kids will invariably 'dine and play' which means eat and run back to the kids clubs. Thus DH and I will be left alone for 15 evenings and meeting new friends for dinner conversation would be fantastic (dare I say, needed!).

We are on late dining. I am happy to co-ordinate a list for late diners. I would hope DU would be able to put in the request for me (I am not a very demanding customer :lmao: ) I understand we would need names and reservation numbers to pass on to Disney.

Anyone interested?

--Kay
Yes, I will pm the family again.
DCL organised this on our TA we have just been on. A thread member co-ordinated early and someone late dining, but I don't know how it was organised. We didn't join in as we had friends with us, but it appeared everyone enjoyed the whole 'same area' experience. I presume, if people hadn't already linked dining with people to share tables that DCL just allocated them together.
Sarah done it through DU.
Well, if you are generously offering your suite, it might be best for you to keep a list. I look forward to meeting you! :flower3:
ok.

Thanks, I will check it out, also Linda, maybe you know, If I have linked dining with some one, should they come up on my rezy when I am booking stuff, like say Palo?

Hi all from San Antiono. Smooth goings so far. Today's flying is way better than when I came out here. The flight to LAX doesn't leave for a couple of hours. Since I am in Texas right now, Go Rangers!!!!!! Every Dodger fan who is true blue is behind you.

On the TA cruise in September we were suppose to have our luggage out by 10:00. My DH has restless legs syndrome so we were walking the halls at 2:00.m. and people were still putting out their luggage and they were being picked up. One couple with 2 kids had 16 bags (plus each had 2 carryons she told me). She was still getting them ready and putting them out. Mom was right, some people will be late for their own funeral.

Another consideration might be temperature and water clarity. If you plan to enjoy any water activities, the water temp difference between April and June is more then 5 degrees. In April a full westsuit is recommended will in June none. Also water clarity, often better in June. Air temp difference averages 10 degrees.

Went to Disney Outlet today. Most all of the princess dresses were half price. Our outlet had all sizes and a large inventory. The only dresses not included were the new Rapunzel, Belle, Tiana and some Cinderella (Cinderella wedding gown was included. They also had Peter Pan, Captain Hook and some other boy costumes. If you have an outlet close by you might want to check it out if you have kids who like to dress up. I stocked up big time!!! That's half off the outlet price, not the regular retail at Disney Stores.

any clue on what's happening to airtran flying points in the next 2 years? are they going to stop giving them out or convert to some kind of southwest points?

what is the process to ensure DH gets decent seats on sw? any seats with extra leg room?

thanks!
