We'll be staying at home the night before the cruise and driving over in the morning! Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!

Tami - love the shirts!! Did I read somewhere that while you were creating on VistaPrints website you got the "image not good" warning? And did you go ahead and use the image and this is how your shirts turned out?? If so, I know what I am working on tomorrow!!

I did get the image not good message, BUT MAKE SURE YOU USE BROOKLYN'S LARGER IMAGE, not the small one

We're staying at Bay Lake the night before the cruise... If anyone wants to volunteer to create lists of who is staying where the night before the cruise for meets, I'm sure Jeff can put them up on the website.

I'll do it. If people just PM me where they are staying, I'll be more than happy to make a list. How often do you think I should send Jeff an update?

I'll go and gather the data from this last question but if you've mentioned it somewhere else in this thread, please go ahead and send it to me. THANKS!

Also, I guess if Linda could put on the first page that I'll be keeping track, that would be great!

We arrive on Dec 31 and we are staying at Saratoga. Getting so excited for this trip. The world, cruise and the land it doesn't get much better than that!

Nicole, at first i thought the way you did - thinking that was very uncharacteristic of Linda. But I think instead what she's saying is that everyone should do what they want as far as FEs. Not much money needs to be spent on each - sounds like 1-3 bucks is enough even! it's just the fun of coming to find stuff. so i think what i get most people saying is that you dont put your name on it so dont worry about if you dont give to all and choose your own cut off - whether that be at 79, 100, nov 6 or walking on to the ship. and while i feel badly that some will miss out, i cant wait much longer to get stuff. so i'll choose my own cut off based on a number i pick and guess we should all do the same. that way it stays fun and cheap and everyones happy. just my opinion. {just the same, glad it came up, i was getting nervous about hundreds and hundreds of dollars!! or waiting till last minute to get stuff. so thak you all for the discussion - i will do the best i can!!}

Sherri

Linda, please forgive me if I'm interpreting your response incorrectly, but when I read this I felt a negative vibe. You seem like you are strongly saying how "you" dont need a poll to make your decision- but that is exactly the point of a poll, so that the group as a whole makes the decision that appeals to the most people. Just like we did for our official logo, I'm sure each person had their favorites because they were all so nice, but we did a vote to come up with the majority favorite. I was merely suggesting a poll because it does seem that there are many who agree with me about doing a cutoff point, but there were also many who agreed with you about letting it continue openly and allowing people to do as they please, so a vote would help make a decision.

Again, sorry if I'm reading too much into your comments, but I am just being honest and I felt a bit turned off after reading your post. If I were the only person who felt a cutoff was needed I would have left well enough alone, but as you know there were many who replied and agreed with me, so I suggested a vote. I feel that your reply was indicative that your opinion was somehow more valid than mine and the others who agreed with me about a cutoff.

I guess in summary I dont get what the big deal is about having a poll, its just a simple vote that Jeff already said would be easy to post on the website. If the results end up as no cut off point against my personal opinion, I am totally fine with that. I get the feeling that when people are opposed to a vote they are really just afraid their point of view will be over-ruled and they might not get their way, but I know for me I am fine with whatever the majority chooses, so I dont see what the big deal is.

You're probably right, I don't feel good so I sound grumpy and I most likly am grumpy, or at least less likely to be tactful than normal, which isn't much. There are a lot of things in life I feel are worth fretting over, and this isn't one of them.

I think everyone is making too much heavy weather of the whole thing.

EVERYONE"S OPINION IS VALID. So why don't you each do what feels right for YOU? THAT was my point. Not that my feeling is more valid than yours but rather " I'm going to do what feels right for me, whatever any poll says."

I sincerely HOPE that no one feels like they HAVE to spend $5.00 per FE on gifts because one poster said that's what she's spending. I HOPE no one feels like omg - I only bought 100 gifts and there's now 101 people and what am I going to do. This is supposed to be FUN, people! RELAX!

Sherri, that sounds like a good idea. I was going to also suggest that I would be willing to make a spreadsheet up of the FE staterooms who've signed up as of November 6, and I could email that to anyone else who also wants to use that as their cutoff if they want one. I am in the same boat as you (no pun intended ; ) in that I cant wait much longer to get stuff since the holidays and several birthdays I have around the December/January time will be occupying much of my time very soon, so I want to wrap up FEs before that. I also do like putting my screen name and first name on my FE gifts because I think its cool to share who its from and I like knowing who left me other gifts as well, although I know some people do anonymous of course I appreciate those gifts just as much : )

Carmie, thanks for offering to get a list together for the pre-cruise hotels we're staying at! We are staying at CBR but I'll PM you as per your request for your formal list. Are we also going to keep a list of post-cruise hotels as well, in case we want to catch up once more before leaving CA?

I understand better where you are coming from now Linda, glad the air is all cleared up. I think you see my point of view too and I agree with Sherri would be that a good compromise is to just let each do their own. Maybe those who are interested in breaking into smaller groups who havent started shopping yet can also organize their own thing, and like I said, I would be willing to organize the list of those who are signed up as of November 6 if anyone else wants to join me in using that for a cutoff.

Sherri I think you have exactly what Linda was trying to say. FE is just a fun thing to do and can be done anyway you'd like. People are welcome to group together if they'd like or do them as individual. If you miss a few it's no big deal. I don't think a poll is needed or a cut off. Just do what you are comfortable with and don't sweat the small stuff, just have fun with it.

Just thought I would mention our photo sharing since we've had a lot of newcomers. Some of us have decided to have an account at SmugMug. Although they do charge, they don't compress photos like the free websites do. Anyway, we'll use this account to upload any photos we take with our own cameras that we want to share with other participants. Some people have stated that they don't like to take pictures/aren't good photographers and that's okay too. If you join our group, you can upload and/or download.

When we first started discussing this, SmugMug billed yearly. However, now they offer monthly billing. I still think we should go with yearly billing and allow our photos to expire in one year. That will be sufficient time to allow everyone to upload/download and everyone will know how much longer they have. Also, you basically get 4 months free going with the yearly billing.

RRBB and I discussed using Power ($60/yr) or Basic ($40/yr) http://www.smugmug.com/photos/photo-sharing-features/ .WeLuvDCL pointed out that we should have option of uploading video and she is absolutely correct. In that case, Power will be what we need. I was also thinking about setting the account up right after we return home so we get the full benefit of the year. I plan to set up folders by the day, then sub-folders for different events, restaurants, ect. Again, I'm open to suggestions.

So, this is who I have so far. If you've signed up, please check the list to make sure you are listed. If you would like to join, please send me a PM.

The cost will be divided up among all members, I will figure out the per/person costs and people can pay me on the cruise or send me payment via paypal after the cruise if we don't get a chance to meet up during the cruise (you can do so before the cruise if you want as well). I won't have the username/password until I set up the account but will pass that along as soon as the account is activated. Since we already have 28 members, each member's cost will be very low ($2.15 for the power) and will even get lower as more people join.

yes, carmie, thanks! we havent made reservations yet. too much craziness in the house. and cant decide where to stay!

nicole, when you do the spreadsheet can you put in how many kids are in the room? or just if they have kids? i'm probably getting some stuff from OT and they do sets of like 100 or one thing i'm considering is 144! so i'd put more in rooms with kids. if that's too onerous at this time of year, that's ok, i'll just add it when i get my copy of it. those may be the only rooms i actually put room numberrs on. the rest will just get one out of the bag ofg the bags! :-)

thanks all. Linda, feel better soon!

I finally tried rebooting, Marilyn, and it worked. After the reboot, I was able to access both. Maybe that will work for you, too?

Oh man. I have wide feet and I would LOVE some cute shoes. So, I got on line last night and googled wide shoes and then selected. Of course Zappos has lots and lots but they weren't really drop dead cute. Torrid used to have some cute shoes but now they look like roman gladiator shoes. What's up with THAT?? Anyway, one of the sites that came up on the list catered to "cross dressers" and I thought WELL! those ought to be wide enough.:rotfl2: couldn't resist looking. Man, SOME of them were SO CUTE! (the shoes, girls, the SHOES!) but unfortunately, the sizing began at 9and I wear a 7.5, so, I still don't have any cute shoes. I did figure out though, where the parade Cruella de ville gets "her" shoes:laughing:

I have seen that you are sorted now, but I have another suggestion. I am not sure though if you can get them in USA as they are a UK brand. I have very wide feet and never could find any shoes that I liked. In summer, somebody pointed me to Irregular Choice shoes. They range from cute to quirky. A lot of them have heels that I struggle with, but they also have flats. I also found out that I can wear their kitten heels without upsetting my ankle.

Well part 2 of 4 done. I am so happy we are doing B2B. 3 nights is way to short. So we are just sitting in the terminal waiting for them to tell us we can reboard. That should happen in about 15 min. I can tell you all for sure that Clayton, AKA Hollywood, will be going on the PC cruise. This is from his own mouth.

That is good news. We loved Clayton as Cruise Director on our Western Caribbean cruise last year. Did he say anything regarding whether he will be Cruise Director or Assistant Cruise Director?

ANybody for a meet in Scotland????????????

Thought not:sad1:

I would not mind an excuse for another trip to Edinburgh.

Do any of ya'll pin trade?

I do pin trade. I just organized my traders and keepers today and I have more traders than I thought. I might get some more from the Disney Store here in the UK though as they proved very popular on our recent vacation.

I concentrate on Figment, DVC and DCL pins with little side collections for events that I have attended and resorts that I have stayed at. Figment is by far the biggest part of the collection.

I have been wondering for years how to display my pins. I suddenly got the idea to buy artist canvas in a discount store and I have pinned them to that. I will hang them up one of those days and I will have some nice "art work".

We are doing DCL transfers from port to GC ($30pp - under 3 FREE). Then DVC transfers from GC to LAX on Sunday - I haven't booked that yet because I have to book our flight first.

So there are DVC transfers to and from LAX? On this cruise we are flying home the same day as we arrive in Los Angeles, but we have a Mexican Riviera Cruise booked for October and I am hoping that we will be able to stay at Grand Californian Villas before and after the cruise.

Right now I find that over the years I have collected way too much - Beanie Babies, Boyds Bears, Disney everything and now I need to narrow down big time!

I can understand that. I also used to collect Beanie Babies (have over 2000) and Bears (Boyds, Russ, Steiff and Artist Bears). Add to this my pins, dolphins, resin models of the ships I have been on, my Pandora bracelets and my aircraft models and I have way too many collections.

Not long till we get our room numbers, I am fed up looking for brunch, going to stop now and wait till I get on the ship, but if there is a big line I wont bother.
I dont even mind if I done brunch at Lumineares or how ever you spell it, I had a few yummy brunches there.

Is it always the sea days they do brunch?
I will have to look out my navigators and work it out.

On the WBTA, they were literally begging me to book a brunch or dinner and there was no line at all. I had to go up there as they messed up our dining assignment and while I was waiting for my turn, I thought I check if they have a tea. They put me on the waitlist for that. They left me a message at 2:47 PM for a 3:00 PM tea the same day on the first sea day. Unfortunately I did not pick up the message until 5:00 PM.

We are booked!!!!!:banana::banana: It took me a day longer than I thought but it's okay, it's done.

Hi, we are Judy and Michael from Alameda, CA and are soooo excited about this cruise. We are in a Cat 9 Gty. Right now we are scheduled for Late Dining but are wait listed for Main. DH doesn't like to eat late.

I just returned from the WBTA with three girlfriends and had a blast. All my cruise items are in a box in storage just waiting for the next one.

If it's not too late we would like to participate in the FE, and I would like to participate with the Champagne Girls and Room Tour and anything else???
I have PM'd reference lanyards, bracelets and nametags. Anything else you can think of that is still available? hahaha that is probably enough for me.

DH and I will be looking over the port adv and making decision soon. He hasn't had a chance to look at any of this since he said ok we good go.

Thanks for all the help and advise. I look forward to seeing some of you again and meeting others.

Judy:dance3::dance3::dance3:

Welcome on board Judy.

Which reminds me, and I have been very remiss, but thank you for the two treats you left on the TA. We loved them. John particularly enjoyed the tablet!!! Sorry I just kept forgetting when we saw you and when messaging you.:flower3:

I have to second that. Graham loved his tablet and I loved the Macaroon. Thanks so much for thinking of us.

Where is everyone staying in PC?

We will be staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge (Jambo House) for one night.

We will be at SSR. We did consider the port though and might yet do the night before there.

I was trying for a studio at SSR, but was told the only thing available as far as studios are concerned was a standard view studio at Jambo House.

I have started on getting supplies for my Fish Extender gifts. I am making 100. If I don't need quite so many, I will just leave some random acts of kindness around the ship. Mine will be small and light-weight. There is one additional thing that I am pondering, but I am not sure if I can get 100 done in the time that I have left.

Sherri

Sure thing, I will definitely put as much info on the spreadsheet as i can. I did one last year for my Magic cruise which was a much smaller group but I was planning to do this one the same way. I had columns for DIS name, Stateroom, # of adults, # of kids, names of adults, and names/age/gender of the kids because like you said, some people buy things specific for the kids. so whatever info they provided to Jeff for the website roster, is what i'll include on the spreadsheet so that those who want that information have it. For me, I've never had an FE group bigger than approximately 50 people over maybe 15 or so staterooms, so I always made goodie bags with stuff in it for each person in the room, but since this group is so large, I'm going to have to rethink for this year. But either way, I definitely like seeing everything in a concise spreadsheet, so I'll be sure to forward to you and anyone else who is interested!

No problem :) As far as the post-cruise, I can keep that too. Just let me know.

Also, do you think I should include the dates or just the hotel? I think just the hotel will be sufficient since I would guess meets would take place on the 5th but let me know if you think otherwise.

Oh, and Nicole, got your hotel down. No need to PM :goodvibes

LOL just missed you, I sent the PM right before I read this. I think the list would be fine with just the hotels on it, but then again some people might be busier the night before but might have more free time earlier in the week, so dates might be helpful. I know for us, we are usually the most free on our arrival day (1/3) since we just relax by the pool after flying in, then head to dinner. But whatever you want to do will be appreciated by us either way!

We're staying at BLT. We're arriving on 1/5 and meeting up with some friends we met on our other cruise as they are spending the week at WDW. Really looking forward to seeing them!

We're staying at Bay Lake the night before the cruise... If anyone wants to volunteer to create lists of who is staying where the night before the cruise for meets, I'm sure Jeff can put them up on the website.

You are in for a real treat. We stayed at Bay Lake Tower for 5 nights after the WBTA and loved it. We managed to watch the fireworks (Happy HalloWishes on the Sunday and Wishes on the Monday) on the observation deck by the Top of the World Lounge. I had never seen either before and it was literally jaw dropping.

Sherri, that sounds like a good idea. I was going to also suggest that I would be willing to make a spreadsheet up of the FE staterooms who've signed up as of November 6, and I could email that to anyone else who also wants to use that as their cutoff if they want one. For the WBTA, I had very basic business cards printed from Vista Print with a nice graphic for the cruise on front and my full name, DIS name and email address on the back. I added this to each gift so that people knew who it came from and also gave them a way to stay in touch afterwards if they wanted.

You're right about maybe meeting up before, I'll add the dates. The problem is, I didn't on the first few PMs and then deleted them. So I apologize for those that did send me the dates and I deleted it. For the following, I have place, but not dates (some I got from this thread). If you would like for me to add your dates, please send me another PM. Sorry for an inconvenience :goodvibes

As far as post cruise, I'll keep that one too. Got it started with you Nicole as the first listed!

Does anyone know where we will dock in Manzanillo? Is it at the new cruise ship pier, where there are points of interest near the ship, or the old pier in the industrial area?

There doesn't seem too be much to do there? How many of your are staying onboard? If there are enough of us, do we want to plan something on-board?

Val

I like this idea!
