thanks for directing me to travelocity. As best I can tell there are 34 cabins left on the boat. At least that is what is listed, some catagories are GTY. So most likely this will sold out by mid December, when I can make a decision. oh well.

There are more than 34 cabins open. Just based on what the "special" pricing has been for cast members and what not. They offered it very early. And I'll bet my hat that this cruise will not sell out.

Can you walk me through how to post a photo? I used to use Photobucket, but everytime I try to log on it tells me the website isnt available. Is there another site I can upload them and transfer them here?

I was just able to log on to photobucket so perhaps your photobucket account was deactivated??? I don't know, but maybe if you try it again, it will work now. Anyway, once you get the picture uploaded, just paste the IMG code here and it should show up. Don't worry if you can't get it to work

On the travelocity site, it only shoes up to 7 cabins for each category. So, if there are more than 7 available in a category, it will only show 7. I have been tracking availability for awhile just to see how the ship is filling. All the cabins that show 7 now were showing 7 3 months ago and i know from on here that people are booking that categories.

That sounds good. I always have wanted to try Dinosaur world from passing it on the way to port, but have never had the chance. This sounds great! DH and I are in.

I agree with the others who've replied so far in support of choice B for the certificates, in favor of leaving it blank because we'd rather have the correct name on them and not chance it.

Regarding the FE, I was wondering what everyone thought about setting a cut off date. I've never been on a cruise that didn't have a cut off date to sign up, because people need to know how much stuff to get. I know some people have suggested getting 10% more, but even that might not be enough if people keep signing up later and later. I guess for me I'll print the list out now and only deliver to those people on it because i don't want to have to 'cut back' on what i'm giving to those who've been signed up for months just because more stragglers keep signing on. I know people join the cruise late but i'm just saying in my past cruises we've always had advance deadlines, usually 2 months before the cruise, so we all knew what we were in for. Any thoughts on this?

We experienced this problem on another cruise. So what they did was started a new group. People who wanted to join an FE but came after a cut off started a new group. Everyone got to have fun but allowed for planning. Just one idea.

Don't give up! This cruise has more then that left... just wait until you are able to make your decision and see what there is.

Well it doesnt matter what time of day, what computer, wifi or modem I cant log onto Photobucket. Tells me website not available. I uploaded pics to snapfish, but I dont know how to get the img codes like photobucket has. So if you want me to email the pics PM me with your email. Sorry I am so dumb, lol

JenKatt is correct. we also have/know a CM and the discounts are quite amazing. I cna't believe it's selling that great. question for you all tht have done PC cruises before: a) how many have been during the school year, or b) right after the holidays or c) 15 days? is this affeacting the selling out or is it maybe the economey or what do y'all think? i think we'll have some less crowded places to go!!

That's okay, sorry to put you through the trouble. You're not dumb! Sometimes my computer acts up and there seems to be no explanation. I'll see the shirt first hand in Jan, that's better anyway

when you right click on the picture in snapfish does it bring up a drop down box with properties as the last selection? then when you double click on it do does it give you the URL you can copy? val

We did a May PC cruise, so school was still in session. It was 14 nights, not 15. It sold out immediately. There were people who got bookings later on, but they paid a lot more than those of us who booked the first day. I think the lack of selling is mostly due to the time of the year. 15 nights is hard for alot of people who have kids. The May PC cruises were empty as far as kids (the one in 05 was the first time they opened the kids clubs to the adults - that was awesome!). Whereas the August cruises were packed with kids.

Right click on a pic, doesn't matter what the website is, the browser matters. When you right click on a pic in Firefox you get an option for copy image location, that's the info for the img tag you need. I don't know what it is in internet explorer, maybe copy image location or properties. All you need is the direct url for the image.

I'd rather have the correct Captain's name, too, so will vote for b). Of course, if you do find out who the "real" Captain is before you order, then it would be nice to have it printed on the certificate. Yeah, I'm waffling.

Just FYI, I'm hammered with school right now. I only come on when I've had enough reading of journal articles. My literature review for my thesis is due in two weeks. After that I'll have somewhat of a life back (all I'll have left is a website I have to create for another project). I have not heard anything from DCL about the wine meet and greet. They told Jeff November when they have more of the schedule figured out for the cruise.

There have been 4 DCL PC cruises:
WB May '05
EB Aug '05
WB May '08
EB Aug '08

So only 2 that really fell during the school year (May).

I think the length of the cruise and the time of year are difficult for families with school-age children. 15 days is a long time to take kids out of school...unless of course you can sell the principal/teacher on the educational value of it.

Plus, it's right after the holidays, so it could be a money issue for many folks...lots of bills in January! And, of course, the poor economy is hurting all cruise lines.

Our schools here start mid August and get out the end of May so all of them would have been durring the school session around here. I have been fortunate to do this cruise twice already and both times they were sold out. I do think it has more to do with the economy and also this cruise is considerably more than the prior 2 we have done.
