If anyone is interested, there is a deal on Groupon for Orlando this weekend for half price admission to Dinosaur World in Plant City. It's $4 for kids and $6 for adults. I thought this might be a good idea for a meet that is a little more centrally located between Orlando and Tampa (although a little closer to Tampa). We would just have to figure out when would be the best time. My family is able to do just about any Saturday except for the one after Thanksgiving. Let me know what you think. Everyone would have to make the purchase by the end of the day tomorrow to get the discount.

That sounds good. I always have wanted to try Dinosaur world from passing it on the way to port, but have never had the chance. This sounds great! DH and I are in. :thumbsup2

Shift over.... and thank goodness for that ! Walked in to the store to discover ALL of the fridges (meat, produce, and perishables) were over efficient, meaning they were reading between -11 to -12C. A whole bunch of stock was frozen and had to be dumped ! Just what I needed. Thankfully, the fridge technician was there promptly, and had it fixed reasonably quickly - a compressor problem.

Actually, it was nice being back at work - Having had four days off with all the hoo-haa in my life, it was good to be back amongst "family" - I work in a small store, and know all the staff very well, and it was nice to be missed :)

So, now it's nearly 2am, and I'm rather excited at the prospect of sitting and viewing my reservations in a relaxed state rather than the frenzy I was in 10 hours ago LOL.

Tami - glad you finally got your Palo reservation. how frustrating having to wait an hour, though !

Willturner - I believe they hold back some reservations for all levels once onboard, as not everyone has *gasp* access to the internet ! We plan on getting to port early on embarkation day just to see if we can get a brunch reservation.

As for ringtones - I was going to put the Disney horn as mine, but felt kind of strange, as we haven't sailed with Disney yet, so I have the Pirates of the Carribean's "Yo Ho Yo Ho" as my ring tone. I LOVE it (it's one of my favourite rides :lovestruc ).

Well, I'd better put this weary head to bed - youngest DD has ANOTHER early morning birthday party tomorrow (had one today, and has another every weekend for the next 3 weekends !).

Have a great Saturday / Sunday all.

Cheers,
Sally :)

Is there any way to tell how many cabins are left on this cruise? I am considering this cruise and have been lurking for months. But I can not make a commitment until December 14. Any insight would be helpful.

I have never been able to find out exactly how full the ship is. You can call DCL and they will tell you if a cruise is sold out but both my TA and I think it is something only a few know for sure. Same with upgrades - it is one of the great mysteries of life. I can tell you this cruise is not sold out.
Here are the categories you can still reserve on-line:

11 C, B & A are all GTY, meaning you will be given at least the category you purchased but may be assigned a higher one

10 A & B not available

10C GTY

9D GTY

9C & B at least 8 mostly likely more

9A 3

7A GTY

6A GTY

5C,B,A GTY

4E not available

4B & A at least 8 mostly likely more

T, S & R not available

Come join us, it is going to be great fun.

Val

Ok, so now it's nearly 3 am, and still I sit here wading through bits and bobs.....

Hhstigers - I often plug in our details to see what cabins are available in our category, and to see if prices have dropped... I can tell you that for my details, I'm showing 8 navigator cabins available (including three which are supposed to be filled with Disboarders ?!?!), which would indicate to me there are still plenty of cabins available (plus there were ample selections available for shore excursions today). Whether that's still the case come mid-December - I'm not sure, but I should think that a sell-out is unlikely based on the lack of full cabins in our category alone.

But again..... novice

ETA - A Little Pixie Dust - they're showing your cabin of 7622 being available ?!?! (maybe you've moved, and I've completely missed it ?)

Cheers,
Sally :)

Val, my DH and I would love to join in on the Aruba excursion. It's sound like the best one offered. You guys did a great job putting it together.

We have friends booking the cruise on Sunday morning so will see if they are interested also.

Judy

Judy - Happy to hear you will be joining the sail. I agree it should be a lot of fun. Let me know if your friends will be joining too.

Yes, we have moved. They came out with a CM rate which saved us about 45% so we grabbed it. The down side is we are now a GTY 5C which makes me nervous on the location but I counldn't pass up the savings.

The TA rate came out at the same time and the FL rate just before that. I think several of us moved around that same week or so.

Hello all from Old Key West. Had a great B2B. A great couple of days here so far at WDW. Going to the DVC thing at Bay Lake Tower tomorrow. Also have 'Ohana for diner. Then Going to the Magic Kingdom till 3 A.M. That's right 3 A.M. Jeff if you are on here at all and see this post, are you working? Awesome job tonight by the Rangers. Now I hope the Phillies have two more wins in them.

I love OKW!! How were the cruises overall Alan? Food? Entertainment? etc?
who was the cruise director?

Val - i can't find the list of rooms for the tour but i thought at some point i'd offered mine - we're a nav verandah if no one else is volunteering that. To be honest, only thing i hesitate on is missing pool/sun! but i'll offer our room - we dont do fancy stuff though!!

Thanks for offering your cat 7 on the room tour. I've added to the list for available when we finalize the tour info. We'll do that after all the gty and upgrades are announced. Thanks again.

Clayton was the CD and will be going with with us to LA. Food was awesome. Entertaintment was something I did not do. I spent most nights in Diversions watching baseball then hitting Wavebands about Midnight.

I would like feedback from peeps on the Panama Canal Certificates.

We can put the name of the ship's captain on the certificates that we get.

I have not been able to get confirmation from DCL as to who the captain is on the crossing, despite a few attempts. Several people have reported that Captain Henry will be our captain. So I am in a quandary.

I can either put on the certificates that Captain Henry is the Captain on our voyage. This might be correct, or it might not be (or could change closer to the date) in which case all the certificates will be wrong. Or I can leave the Captain's name off the certificate and people can write that in themselves when on board and/or get the captain to sign it.

What do you think?

a) Put down Captain Henry as the Captain and keep fingers crossed that it is correct and nothing changes.

or

b) Not put the name of the captain on the certificate so that we can all write it on our own certificates onboard.

Please let me know what you think. I am inclined to go with b, but wanted to see what everyone else thought.

--Kay

p.s. Final reminder to our long time PC cruisers and a quick note to those that are new. I will be closing off the order for the PC certificates at the end of October. If you are interested in ordering, details are on page 1 including links to see what you would be getting and the link to where to place the order.

Once I have closed off the order and passed it onto the supplier, I will have an accurate cost back from them and will then request payment when the final number is known.

Is it too late to become involved with the Fish Extenders or is there still time? I would love to. If not, I understand. Just wasn't sure who to send this to.

I guess I am voting for B.. as much as I would like it neatly printed on the certificate. I would prefer it be the correct name.

Thanks for your hard work!

I'd rather have the correct Captain's name, too, so will vote for b). Of course, if you do find out who the "real" Captain is before you order, then it would be nice to have it printed on the certificate. Yeah, I'm waffling.
