Remember folks, shows every night except Monday, 2 on Saturdays. Tip your waitstaff well, I know what they do to your drinks if you don't. :)

(And as I say in my monorail spiel, if the jokes were any good, I wouldn't be driving monorails.)

That is one thing my dh always did! On one cruise in particular we had the most wonderful server. After the second night he told Garry, "no menu for you, I pick your dinner and if you don't like it, then I will give you a menu!" Well, he was on target every night. At the end of the cruise, we gave him the recommended gratutity and then Garry put an extra $100 in his envelope.:thumbsup2

Other people we talk to about our experience on DCL just look at me in awe when I talk about seeing cruise staff we know or how pleasant the guests are and how we get acquainted before the cruise. Why would you want to do anything else?:cutie:

My friend's sister did Royal Caribbean and she had to upgrade two times to get the same size room as Disney and she said the people never spoke to you at the pool or in the elevator. She never went back on that line!:scared1:

It's very appreciated. I finally have a lull at work which really makes this a lot easier. When I can take a few minutes here and there to keep things updated, it really flies.

The good news is that the Paid in Full date is past, so there should be very few changes to the list in terms of removals. I still expect a couple of additions. Again if something happens and you can't make this cruise *PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF THE MOUSE* let me know.

So we are now in full swing on the actual events stuff, and then we'll have the rush about 30 days out as the GTY's convert over.... That's going to be the hard part because the second half of December is my personal busy time at work, but I'll make sure it happens.

And remember, if you appreciate all my work, my name is Jeff, I will be hanging out in Diversions mostly, my preferred beer is Guinness and my preferred wine is a Riesling. If you didn't appreciate my work, my name is Alan and I'll be hanging out in the back of Wavebands....
Ouch. Cheap shot. I can take it. I do give as good as I get. One thing I did want to point out. Yes the PIF date has now come and gone, but the cancelation period has not yet started until next month. So Jeff I am very thankful you are putting your talents out there for us. You may claim your Guinness in the back of Wavebands.

I think the best wait staff are those that can read people and deal with them as expected. Some people expect their dinner staff to be seen and not heard. Some want humor and jokes, others want straightlaced butler service. Others expect interaction and recommendations. The best can read people quickly and adapt (which is why I really like the way Disney does its dining).

The last paragraph is why I'm disappointed in the Dream. The rooms are about 20% smaller then the Magic and the Wonder and bring Disney back to the pack. While the Magic and Wonder were revolutionary and changed the industry (See the number verandah accomadations on pre 1998 cruise ships for example), I find the Dream to be reactionary. There isn't one thing about the new ships that will change the way we cruise in 10 years.

LOL. That means I need to go to wavebands... :P Hopefully you'll get the hear the world famous monorail spiel in it's native setting next month.

BTW, I haven't actually been in Wavebands for anything since November of 2000. Though I might wander in for Karaoke this year. I do an absolutely disastrous rendition of pretty much everything.

On page one there was a mention of programs. We did this on the Mediterranean Cruise and it was neat because you could see who was on each excursion & what times at Palo, etc. Are we still doing something like this and how is it working?

DCL Traveller is putting them together. I'll probably offer my fish extender as a distribution point :)

Just made final payment, so we are IN! Yes, we'd love to participate in the fish extenders. We had a great time doing it on our last cruise. I'm sorry we're too late to join the Secret Mickey group. Oh well -- I didn't want to get too involved or excited until I knew we would make it! My DH & I are celebrating our 23rd wedding anniversary, and bringing along our 17-year-old son. We got married at the Disneyland Hotel and honeymooned at Disney World. We got engaged on the Mark Twain, and our first date was for the opening weekend of Star Tours. I guess you could say we are "junkies."

I'm looking forward to reading past posts and getting to know you fine folks!

You aren't too late. Hurry up and PM the coordinator :)

Oh, I don't know.... I can just see the new Carnival React!

- Waterpark at sea: now you can experience an entire waterpark at sea with no less than 20 tube rides hanging off all sides of the ship.
Which is possible because....

- All inside staterooms: we've gotten rid of those stupid verandas - every cabin now faces inward with it's own virtual windows showing what's outside, or our vision of what it should be like outside. Cloudy day? no worries - your virtual window will always look out onto sunny days!

DW and I meet when we were both CM working for Walt Disney Theatrical when Beauty and the Beast played here for almost two years. Our first vacation was to WDW and then two years later I proposed at WDW, then on Oct 20, 2000 we got married at the wedding pavilion. That is why every Oct 20 we are on Disney property to celebrate our anniversary. This year we will be on the Wonder at sea having Brunch at Palo. Oh Jeff, if you want that Guinness you will have to come and claim it in Wavebands and I will make you claim it at our table in the back. Lol

As Tigfanjeff said, you aren't too late- but you dont have much time. I believe the coordinator extended the deadline to this Friday for those who joined late to sign up for the Secret Mickey. The information to contact her is in post #1 on page 1 of this thread.

How wonderful! I hope you have many, many years of celebration!

Current Stats -

273 people in 103 staterooms, traveling as 90 parties.
This is 11.38% of the normal guest capacity(2400) of the Wonder.
This is 10.11% of the maximum guest capacity (2700) of the Wonder.
This is 11.74% of the available staterooms(877).

Right now 40 of those staterooms are confirmed for Fish Extender.

56 out of the 103 staterooms have confirmed with me that they are still going since I started the confirmation process. Which is a good thing. :)

I'm really thinking we should have negotiated a group rate.....

A group rate would have been great!!!:lmao:

Thank you so much for all of your work!! We have to get our DS's together I think they are about the same age :woohoo:

too funny :rotfl: ......still in California

Welcome to all the new cruisers!:welcome:

If anyone is interested in whale watching in Cabo, my DH & I have found a morning tour for half of what Disney is charging. PM me if you would like the info. After the whales we plan to go in search of Cabo Wabo. :hippie:

Any news on those little doggies?

I don't normally post stuff like this..if anyone has time to say a little prayer...minor surgery in 2 hours (it's the anesthesia part that worries me).

Have a WONDERful Day!:sunny:

oh tink - a prayer for you - it is the most worrisome part for me too!

i think it's too funny that while i'm at work thre's like 4 more pages i havent gotten to, but when i'm home in the evening, there's barely one page done!

good luck to all - seems i've been much of a lurker...dont mean to be.
