wow, i'm usually the one so far behind and i see no one has answered you!

Well first congrats on PIF!!!

Once you've posted a certain number of times, i think it is 10 times, so write short and write often - you only have 4 more to go if my memory serves, then you send pm to tigfanjeff with your names, ages, relationships, cabin if you have, picture if you want and the stuff you see - city and state. Whatever you want to of that and he'll add you. Be patient, though, he does aGREAT job but he's in the midst of umping little league i think it is and is very busy. but he will, he's been great!

Welcome aboa:yay:rd!

Beth we will start selling seats on 8/17/10 for after the cruise.

Just a quick note - I get email from Smarter Travel and they 'say' there is a one day sale for Jet Blue and Virgin. I didn't take the time but anyone still looking for either of these may want to check it out. Sorry if it is a time waster but thought I would put it out there.

And page two??????? What is up with that?

I am eager for the SW fares to come out. I do have a $160 credit so that should help. We are thinking of getting 2 ereaders a Kindle and a nook. We do not like the same books.

I'm all in for book sharing I read almost anything but love Debbie MacComber and have recently gotten into Clive Cussler, and also John Patterson- maybe I like books that the characters are so real they could be my friends. Anyway whatever we have we will gladly share when we're done!

:cool1::cool1:Huge Clive Cussler fans here -- we have his autograph on most of our copies:cool1::cool1: I'm on a spy-thriller-mystery kick at the moment...Brad Thor, Daniel Silva, Alex Bernenson, etc...

August 17th for SWA...but I don't WANT to go home!!:rotfl2: I have the Sony e-reader but still like the books;) as I stare at the computer screen all day:surfweb:and my eyes get tired:surfweb: I do love the 'free' classics on my reader...Pride & Prejudice is great when you read it for fun and not a British Lit class!!

Good for you on the credit with SW. I looked really hard at the new generation of Kindle on Sunday and dragged my feet and didn't do anything and now it will be September before the second shipment is released. Maybe I should wait until October incase there are any bugs and they will fix them. I just thought it was a good product for the $$.

Who is Scully? You are welcome to my books!

Dizzi, there's a Panama canal cruise education thread - you could post there - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2304047

:scared1: I need to get saving. Congrats.

My husband is looking into Deep Sea Fishing in Cabo.
There is a TERRIFIC company that has been personally recommended to us by friends who Deep Sea Fish when they go to Mexico.
For a fee you charter the boat size of your choice, with this you get a crew for the day. Charters can be tailored to your needs and they have plenty of experience with Cruise ship passengers.
Check out the website and let me know if anyone else would be interested in going.

Hi Limo Fam - my husband may be interested in fishing so I contacted my Uncle who runs 2 boats himself. Unfortunately his boats will not be in Mexico, or are not currently scheduled to be in Mexico in January, as they will be tournament fishing elsewhere but he is making some inquiries. I will post if he can make a recommendation also.

Ah, Lynne, I wondered if that might be who you meant, lol. I'll see can I find that one - I'd love to read it.

It is humid as heck here now - DH says we're getting in practice for Florida!

Ok great. My husband is looking forward to this. He has not personally went with this company before sooooo if anyone else has any other suggested companies he would be more then happy to look into those and take that into consideration.
Truth be told he would be more then happy going all alone if no one else wanted to join in.......I think he said it is this or cage diving with SHARKS:scared1::scared1::scared1: OMG I hope he goes fishing!!!!!!

So, it looks like our plans are changing a bit. My sister has decided that it would be blasphemy to spend time in Orlando and not visit WDW (she hasn't been there in years), and that it would be best for us to stay at a resort hotel.

So it looks like we'll be staying from Jan 2 until the 5th (we'll spend the night of the 5th at Port Canaveral).

So, what would you recommend as a good resort to stay at? In particular - we want one where we can get 2 beds plus a daybed or sofabed (which basically means one of the Deluxe resorts). Any favorites?

While you could do a deluxe, you would be more comfortable in a DVC resort. Either 2 studios or a studio and a 1 bedroom (I don't think the 1 bedrooms can accomodate 5 people). You'll appreciate the room.

Totally agree with Jen. If you can swing it, you should look into old Key West - best size value - bigger rooms and bigger kitchens (if ur so inclined - I"m not) and bigger washer/dryer. and i've not checked but since they are older (first DVC if i recall) they may be cheaper. One bedrooms sleep a lot of folk!

Just came back from Virginia meeting with my a Dads Trust lawyer. Oh my this is going to take a long time and a lot of effort. Good thing daddy was very organized, because even with that it's a bit confusing. I miss him something fierce. Its only been 3 weeks, so i guess this is normal. But all the questions I have in my mind - normally i'd go to him to ask - what did you mean by this and what should i do with that and stuff. sigh. :sad1:

OTOH, i get to read all the fun stuff from you guys and that's good. I dont have a clue what we'll do for excursions at this point. DH is pretty darn conservative and so we'll prob only do what disney offers, in hopes that if there is a problem, disney will take care of it (ie hold the ship or whatever). Dont know.

I may have missed it but has anyone guessed about what the total tips per person will be - the suggested amount anyway? (Last time i slipped cash in with the prepaid tips to 2 especially wonderful people.) Trying to save/figure costs. It's a bit easier since we used DVC points taht were not going to be used elsewhere, but still want some idea. It's just easier, not easy!!

Have a good evening - wish i was WDW'ing before January!!

Sherri

Please add us. When will all details being finalized?

Carnie

Please add us to the SmugMug photo sharing please. Sounds great!

Please add ChipperMerlin to the SmugMug list. We take pix, but would like to have access to some that we might miss.
Shirley
Got you three added. Have I missed anyone? This won't be finalized for awhile since a lot of people don't check the thread regularly. Plus, I don't want to set up the account until after we get back since we only get a year. Don't want to waste any time where we won't be using it. But I'll keep everyone updated.

On of the Port Orleans resorts, I think POFQ, has 2 beds plus a trundle or daybed. I remember a friend booking a room there for 5.

Some of the AKV 1 BRs can sleep 5. We booked 5 there in 2008. I think that is the only 1 BR that sleeps 5.

HI Sherri,
Suggested tips ($12/person/day) for you and your husband would total $360.

Really???? that includes the 4 dr people (or is it 3) and the housekeeping and all ??? somehow i was thinking itd be more, so if indeed it's all, that is good news for me (bad for many i know, but still, for me,...better than expected) Thanks!!

(can we tip the entertainers?? DD is in soo many shows!! can't wait tosee her!! look for her all, she's the one in my picture on the list of who we are. though at some point for a long show she's playing a kid.....)(like 5 yo or something...)

One bedrooms at AK lodge can sleep 5 I believe. The 5th person gets a pull out chair (like the couch, but turns to a single bed)

Oops, I see someone already posted this. Sorry.
