We have gotten a rental in Aruba for a jeep. I would love to do zipline not sure I am brave enough. Thinking of also shipping wine, rum, and clamato juice to o the Vila. Can I check with my luggage for the Bus? Or Does it need to go with us?

Burbank is very small. It is our only airport that you use stairs to get on and off the aircraft. Because of this you can board from the front and from the rear of the plane. It is kinda neat. When the plane lands it turns right into it's parking spot. Be advised your flight will not be a non stop. We only offer non stops to Las Vegas, Phoenix, Oakland, San Jose, and Sacramento out of Burbank. I think there maybe a non stop to Reno as well out of there. To get to Houston, it will be a stop and maybe a change of planes in Las Vegas or Phoenix.

Thanks Alan. That 1PM flight had a stop but no change so I think it's worth considering. I'll check into transportation from the port before making reservations to make sure the savings won't be offset by increased transportation charges.

Well, one step closer to having all of my ducks in a row for this cruise! SNA to BWI with 1 stop but no plane changes! Thanks Alan for letting us know when the dates came out for us returning cruisers!

I found out that there are 5 airports close to Disneyland---SNA, LGB, ONT, LAX and BUR in order of distance. I am still looking for a Disneyland area hotel. Sigh. Went to the Tripadvisor website to see what people say (and thank you for your PM'd suggestions) and there are sooooo many choices! I just read on Mousesavers that there are room-only discounts at the 3 Disney-owned hotels---but only until December 31st. ARGH!

I've enjoyed reading all of the port excursion descriptions! I just hope there are some spots left for us poor people who can't book them until October. Sigh.

I hope that everyone is having a wonderful day:)

Honestly, 1:00 they day we get off of the ship may be tough to make. It will take at least 45 min to get there. There will be a ton of traffic as you go through the downtown area. If there is a customs problem like there was in 05 you will miss your flight.

On the 2008 Westbound PC cruise a Diser organized a group for Aruba Jeep rentals, thus obtaining a lesser rental rate. Has anyone started something like this or would anyone be interested? We rented Jeeps in 08 and really enjoyed them, we want to do the same again.

Any thoughts?

I forgot to mention to anyone who's in and around central Florida this summer/ fall and is looking for something extra to do: One of the local art museums is doing a Dale Chihuly exhibit (that's the guy who does the glass art work hanging from the ceilings in the atrium on the ships). From what I have heard, the exhibit is amazing

Thank you!!!
My husband and I are HUGE Chihuly fans - we'll be sure to hit this exhibit!

Oh heck. I guess we won't. It's in St. Petersburg :(

There are only 4 showing on the Port Adventures page which is linked to the port descriptions. I can't remember how I found it, but there is a way for you to see all port adventures for a port and there are more than 4. Unfortunately a lot of the ones that sound interesting are for older kids, so those of us with kids under 10-12 Y/O are limited.

I am a bit disappointed in the selection for kids under 12 too. Adding to that is this is our first DCL cruise so I'm doubting much will be left over by the time we can book. Our kids will be 9 and 7 so they will definitely want to get off the ship and explore the ports. I hope they add a few more options :confused3.

Okay, well, that's good to know. I thought they suggested noon but that may just be just cruises in FL. I would rather be safe than sorry and book a later flight. They also had a 2:55 flight for the same $ but it had a change of planes. After looking further into LAX flights, it would only be a little more than $100 total to fly out of there with nonstop flights so that may be the route we go. If we decide on BUR, will 2:55 be okay? What about LAX, what is the earliest flight you would suggest?

We are planning on a jeep rental in Aruba. It seems that those that have done that in the past have been very pleased!

I would say 2:55 would be fine. Anything else please ask away.

Manzanillo Excursions seem really limited. I hope they come out with more.
I agree, I wish we were going back to Mazatlan, there seems to be more there. We've resigned ourselves that Manzanillo is going to be a beach/ pool day and we'll do one of the all inclusives.

We are actually thinking of doing a non-DCL scuba diving excursion in Manzanillo. Anyone have any recommendations on companies?

Alright, this is off the excursion topic but I need to vent. Parents out there please help me understand. Is it really that hard to follow this simple instruction. Have everyone holding onto their own Boarding Pass. How hard is that? Normaly I don't care, but when I have TSA standing next to me I need to change my boarding style As they look to see us controlling access to the plane. So really is it that hard for everyone to hold there own. Alright I am done ventIng.

Beer to the left, emergency slide on the right.

I SO hear you, Alan. The ability of people to "KNOW" you couldn't possibly mean them is absolutely astounding!

Tell me about it. I just don't get it. That and my other pet peeve. Since I am dislexic when I run the numbers for the pilots I tend to go over it twice and real foucus. People can tell I trying to do math and they still want to butt in and ask me questions. When I say just a sec they get all bent out of shape. Well so sorry dude, but since it is my name on that paperwork you will wait till I am done weather you like it or not. Alright vent 2 is all done.

These are often the same people who's kids are badly behaved so they can't trust them with the boarding passes. They dont discipline them so they understand they have to be respectful and behave. I'm not talking about the toddlers who throw a tantrum or crying babies. i'm talking about the 8 year old who kicks your stuff or the back of your chair all night or throws stuff on you and the parents "dont notice". so they can't trust the kids to hold a boarding pass. they drive me nuts.

(this doesn't even count the helicopter parents who cant let go)
