From WDW to DL With Love - January 06, 2011 part 2

Potty training went ok this weekend. For the most part Jack stayed dry. He has no problems peeing in the toliet, in fact he thinks its funny. There are two problems with the child. One, he will never ever ever ask to go. Never. Two, he won't poop in the toliet. We managed to get a small (microscopic even) victory in that respect. He did it once.
Sent him to school today without diapers, but pull ups (as much as I swore I would never use them). At school they do what we do at home, every 30 minutes or so, it's off to the potty. Hopefully after a few weeks of that, it will kick in....
Carmen, what a cute baby!!!!

Congratulations, Auntie Carmen! He's a beautiful baby!:cloud9:

disfaninca,

Your daughter has her dress for formal night! She is a stunning young lady with a gorgeous smile! I had boys and it really didn't bother me when I got the first one's tux for prom but come the second/last one I lost it! I cried in the store! :sad1: I guess it just hit me.

I thought I was done with potty training and then my then 2 year old grandson and his parents moved in! Here we go again!!! I'm too old for potty training!!!! But, he did rather well and we finally succeeded. We waited until he was 2 1/2 before even starting. He wears a pull-up only at night for the "just in case" times. We simply did it but going every 30 minutes too. The Cars big boy undies helped too.

Mmmm, potty training.:headache: In my day(I'm old;)) it was the norm to start them early, so by 18 months we were well into it if not already through it, and they were trained long before they were 2. I know it is frowned on these days, but it was accepted then. Of course prior to that the poor babies were sitting on potties as soon as they could sit up!!! Nothing wrong with today's ways at all, just sharing how things were!! All the best to you all. I just wish they were born trained.

Beautiful baby! Beautiful HSers!

I too am in potty training hell. DD can and will go at home if I don't put diapers on her. Have not ventured out too far without.

Am currently trying the bribe route - she really wants a Zhu Zhu pet - maybe a star chart would help? Might try that.

Alan - will SW open up our dates at midnight tonight? Gotta get ready to book those flights!!

THANKS all!!!! I already miss the little guy. We live about 5-5.5 hours drive away so I won't be able to see him as often as I like. Plus, his big brother is wondering when Aunt Carmen is coming back. I really would like to live closer to my sis! Anyway, the baby's name is Noah Daniel.

Carmen, congratulations on your new nephew...he is beautiful.

What a cuite! Congrats!

Carmie, glad he arrived safely.Do they have a name for him yet?

Love the photos. Baby is so gorgeous. What is his name.

Congratulations, Auntie Carmen! He's a beautiful baby!:cloud9:

Carmen, your little nephew is so adorable!!! Congratulations!! Seeing those sweet pictures is getting me so excited about the arrival of our grandson in mid July!

DD is graduating from high school Thursday and her older sister is coming (with her three DDs) from AZ to see her graduate. I can't wait to see them!

She really enjoyed her prom. Here are a couple of pictures.

I had a cousin that her little boy was the same. Would pee in the potty at 2 1/2 but would NOT poop in the potty at all. He would run to her holding a pull up saying he needed it on to poop. I don't remember how long that went on but I remember how frustrated she was. Good luck to you and hope he is pooping in the potty in no time!!!

Best of luck on the PT for you too! The chart idea worked for us. We used Thomas the Train as the incentive!

Stunning.

Well, to all of you in the throws of potty training, before you know it, they will be graduating from high school. Not that it is really a 'fun experience' laugh when you can and it becomes like labor, you know you went through it but sort of forget the details. We do all seem to come out on the other side.

adorable baby!!

beautiful girl in beautiful dress!

as for forgetting the details - oh no!! great stories for g/f or b/f when they've been going out a while! :-)

I don't know about other carriers, but I checked with Sprint, and here is their information re cell useage on our cruise. I do not have an international-capable device, so they did not quote me data prices:

On the cruise ship:
$2.49/min - Voice
$0.50 - Send text
$0.05 - Receive text
Data - requires an international-capable phone

Aruba:
$1.99/min - Voice
$0.50 - Send text
$0.05 - Receive text
Data - requires an international-capable phone

Costa Rica:
No service.

Mexico (Manzanillo, Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas):
$1.69/min - Voice
$0.50 - Send text
$0.15 - Receive text
Data - requires an international-capable phone

There was no charge for Sprint to "enable" our phones for use on the cruise ship and these ports. There was also no change to our account or current package. They just said there is an "enabler" that needs to be activated for international roaming.

Thought this might help others who have Sprint.

Figured I would look up AT&T to see what our rates are and share with anyone else who could use them. Messaging rates are are assuming you have a texting plan.

All Locations:
$0.50 - Send text
$1.30 - Picture/Video
$0.00 - Receive text
$.0195/KB - Data

On the cruise ship:
$2.49/min - Voice

Aruba:
$1.99/min - Voice

Panama: (Assuming we are close enough to a tower)
$2.29/min - Voice

Costa Rica:
$2.29/min - Voice

Mexico (Manzanillo, Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas):
$0.99/min - Voice

Check out their website and look up the travel guide to see if your phone is compatible in all ports. They have a tool where you can put in your itinerary and see the results. You do have to call AT&T to enable International Roaming. I'm not sure if there is a charge for this.

Well, those I remembered - it is the rest that has been forgotten. Actually, I don't remember it being that big a deal (I had 3 boys, how can that be??). By the time it was the last one's time to do this, I decided it would happen when HE was ready and it did. I do remember telling him that we were going to WDW and he needed to be in big boy pants to go on the rides. Worked.

Good luck to those waiting to see SW post their rates and schedules. We are booked - Delta from DTW to FLL (non-stop, can't beat that) for the December cruise and United home from LAX. Got my place all lined up for the time in between. Things are moving along....

Wow thanks for the pictures of the baby and prom beauty they are both adorable!

Luggage wise we'll probably be bringing 3 large suitcases (ours will all be free luckily (because of where DH is on the frequent flyer plan) at least to Fl on the way home DH will have to bring 2 which would be free and since I'm coming seperately a couple of days later I'll have to pay for the luggage I bring home.)

Thanks everyone! She had a wonderful time!! When we went shopping for the dress, I was expecting it to take all day. But we went into the first store, walked past a couple of racks, she found this dress and fell in love with it. We were in the store all of about ten minutes. I couldn't believe it!

Love the photos. Baby is so gorgeous. What is his name.

What a beautiful girl in such a lovely dress too. Stunning.

Gorgeous dress, gorgeous young woman.

I know exactly what you mean. She is my baby and she is moving to AZ this summer. It has been very emotional for me.

I love his name! I hope you get to go back and see them soon!

Good luck to those who are potty training!!!

We are also waiting patiently for SW bookings to open up!!
Good luck to all those booking flights tomorrow!

Just a reminder that our bookings only open to Jan 7. Also I have no idea what time it starts. I hope that you get what you want for your flights to MCO. Even if you don't book, thanks for giving us a look. I am soory I was not around to answer questions. It is really busy at work now that summer is here. Also I have been trying to figure out how to get myself to Manchester NH on Wed. So again, sorry to not be around.

Oddly, my link to SW doesn't show it's open yet. Usually it does change overnight. impatient :)
