I'm sorry to hear you had a frustrating day, but hey, look on the bright side, you could have had to come back day after day, sitting in that stuffy room all week long and then been dismissed!
I have been called for Jury Duty next week and I am hoping they never even ask me to report. Wishful thinking, I know, but one can always hope--A little faith, trust and pixie dust maybe????

You are right. It beats going everyday, my thing is if they were nit going to use me, why even call me in. I kinda had a feeling this would happen as tomorrow is the third Wed of the month and in the County of Los Angeles the third Wed. of the month is a mandatory furlogh day.

Oh that would really suck and a waste of time. U.S. attorneys never go to court unless they got that person. Well I am hoping for you.

I was summoned to jury duty but it was right after Steve's mother fell and she was uneasy about being alone so I received a pardon. She lives in our little house next door to us and is now 91.

Last time I spent 3 days in the courtroom waiting while they interviewed potential jurors. I even got called forward. They asked me what my favorite TV shows were and I answered the Daily Show and Colbert Report. For some reason the attorneys did not like that at all and I was quickly excused.

I did Jury Service last December and was actually chosen for a trial for 2 weeks. I believe those extra, who weren't needed for my trial just kept having to come in each day and see if they were chosen for other trials. I would have hated that, particularly as it took over an hour to get there and back.

Because I work in an emergencies I can blag a get out of jail free card as far as jury duty goes, its not right or clever but I have and will use my job to get out of it.

Have fun ! I done my achilles tendon in running again, its not good, Im pretty fed up, now I have a sore hip cause of all the hobbling about, Im falling apart and getting all crabby with it.

Sunny day here (sorry Linda you have our weather from the last couple of days) fortunately tomorrow is supposed to be even nicer than today (I'm working at the HS boys track sectionals), unfortunately saturday morning is now looking rainy (having a garage sale for vacation funds).

In NJ, health care workers get an automatic excuse from jury duty (or did anyways- not sure now) so I never had to go. In Florida, military is excused, so again, I didn't have to go. Since I seperated from the military I've been called 4 times. I've treked over 3 of those times (once excused due to being pregnant). Was actually pulled for a trial one time, but was quickly excused because I'm a nurse. Nurses make horrible jurors. We see too much and have very little room for pity or sympathy. Makes me wonder why more states don't excuse health care workers right off the bat!

Good morning all, 4:30 am here, but I cannot sleep. This is the second night in a row I have had a dream about the Panama Canal crossing. First, I dreamt we went through so fast that I missed it and last night I dreamt that they blocked off decks 9 and 10 so I couldn't get up to see it. It doesn't take a psychoanalyst to figure out what I'm worried about!
In other news, my DD leaves for science camp this morning and I will spend the day reading grades 3, 7, and 8 science standards for all the states in the US for a Disney project we are working on. Long, long day ahead!

I am nursing a bad achilles tendon too. See if you can find a physiotherapist that does "active release therapy". Hurts like mad but worked like a charm on me last time!

Now I will sound off on badly behaved children and adults only areas...

My children are good. I have not given them any other option. They are children though and should not be in adult areas. The only reason I can see them in an adult area would be to slink nervously in, quietly ask me a question, and slink nervously out. I think that is OK. My son especially is a stickler for the rules!!!

I was almost in the "make a wish kid" position a few months ago. Here are my unsolicited thoughts...If you have are a make a wish family, what are you doing in the adults only area of the ship anyway?!?!?!?! You should be enjoying watching your kid be a kid in a designated kids area. Your time might be limited and a Disney Cruise is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy your children, especially in that kind of unfortunate situation.

Did anyone purchase a Disneyland Package for after the cruise? I have not seen anything on line about it. They did have one when we did the last PC.
