Those pictures were awesome, thanks so much for sharing! Pictures are very important to me on my vacations, so this really helps to know they take lots of pictures of you to capture the moments! Makes me that much more excited!

After the first zip we really started enjoying ourselves.

Remember, at the time I was 61 and DH was 64. I loved the zip-lineing just not the platforms so much But it was worth it.

Wow! Loved the pix - especially of the "band of pirates" with all the scarves on your heads.

How many times did you get to do the zip-line? Inquiring minds want to know. We're a little older than you were - I just turned 66 on Easter, and DH will have turned 76 a couple of months before the cruise. We're both in pretty good shape (round is a shape - LOL!) and do a lot of walking. I'm not good with heights, but really want to do this.

I saw Paula Deen do zip-lining on one of her specials, and figured if she could do it, I probably could, too.

Hi everyone!

I am not a huge fan of Walmart. There is a rumor that we are getting Target here and I am very curious about it. Everyone seems to love it. That said, I LOVE the Walmart in PV. I haven't been there for a few years but when I was there, they had a fantastic bakery, they carried about 20 different kinds of limes, and they had interesting flavours of Crystal Light (horchata canella, mojito, guanabana, dragonfruit, pina colada). They had all kinds of different and interesting things.

I agree that seeing a big Walmart when we dock is NOT remotely appealing but I did find the store itself neat. I am not so sure I'll spend any of my time in port there though!...well maybe...

We zip lined in CR in February. I am pretty sure that anyone who can lift a grocery bag can zip line. It was fun and a unique way to take in your surroundings. I recommend it.

I love the pictures of the zip lines. I would love to do this at any port but will have to see how things go. If I am stuck on the ship-well, I can think of worse things.

I have been very busy the last two weeks. I made my first cake for someone other than family. I think it turned our pretty well. This week I am having a rummage sale-so trying to clean out.

The cake is beautiful. I'll have a slice, thank you very much! You are very talented - thanks for sharing the picture.

Just showed DH the zip-line pix - he definitely wants to do it. Glad to hear the favorable reports from other zip-liners.

Good luck with the rummage sale. Our city is having a city-wide garage sale on May 1st, so I'm clearing out a lot of craft supplies and Hallmark Christmas ornaments. I'm going to do an overnight trip to Lost Wages the first week in May, so NEED money. Southwest is having a special - you get credit for two flights for every flight you take between now and May 26th - if you've registered. I decided to go to Sin City, rather than Disneyland - cheaper hotels and a chance to do something different. See, Alan, I'm helping you keep your job!

Off to buy some licorice for DH - today is National Licorice Day.

First off, THANK YOU!!!!!!! Second, what are you talking about? They never tell us ground people the deals that they have going on.

Oh, that cake looks wonderful - you are so clever. I would love a slice right now!!

Just off topic for a second, if y'all could think of the families of all those lost in the plane crash in Russia this weekend, that killed the president of Poland and many others. My dad is an immigrant from Poland (i'm first generation American on that side) and was raised with tremendous pride of where I came from. My grandparents (on both sides) raised all of us to appreciate what America is, a chance for freedom that isn't readily available elsewhere, but to also have pride in how strong the Polish are. The Poles now have the freedom my family never got to experience there, but the country struggles to overcome what was left of the country after the Cold War ended. This tragedy is particular hard in a time where they are looking for leadership.
The Big Picture did a wonderful spread of pictures from the events after the crash.

Thank you... stepping back IN topic

Those pictures of ziplining are great!!

The cake turned out to be gorgeous!! Is that fondant?

The cake is covered in buttercream but the dots and flowers are fondant. I made the fondant myself because the kind you buy tastes not so good. Thats the tricky thing about fondant-it looks nice but no one ever eats it. This fondant is made with marshmallows and actually tastes pretty good.

Great job on the cake! I'm going to try the marshmallow fondant. How is it to work with?

Carol, those pics look like so much fun!! Thank you for posting! DH and I really want to do the zipline too. But we are torn between Costa Rica and PV.

That is the kind that I make. You're right, it is good! A bit sweet, but very good. And it is very easy to work with. I have the hardest time getting buttercream smooth but with the fondant, it is so easy!

I have been keeping them in my prayers...a very sad and tragic accident.

My husband is from Croatia. I met him on Majesty of the Seas. He was my waiter back in 1997. He just got his US citizenship last month and will sail on the Wonder with his new US Pass Port!

Southwest is running a "Double Credit Days" special. Anyone who is planning to fly on Southwest between now and May 26th should go out to Southwest.com and register, then see about buying your tickets.

It's a good idea to also sign up for the "Ding" fares and for their "Click & Save" emails. That's how you can get good deals. I'll have a free ticket by the time I complete my Las Vegas trip - and I'll probably use it to go to WDW in March for the Princess Half Marathon Weekend. Paying $139.20 to fly to Vegas sure beats the over $400/person we're paying for our September WDW trip.

What a lovely cake, you did really well, well done ::yes::

Good Morning guys, have a lovely day :)

Thank you so much for sharing "The Big Picture" site with us. It was a shocking event and a true tragedy for the Polish people. Our thoughts and prayers are with them and with all the Poles here in America. I can't imagine what it would be like to have something like that happen to us.

Seeing all the candles and flowers reminded me of Kensington Palace right after Princess Diana's death.

Boy! You guys are BRAVE! I look down from a stepladder and get vertigo, lol

Actually my DH is afraid of heights but really enjoyed this. I wish they had taken some at the "bridge" of me going across almost on my knees. :rotfl: That had to be funny to see.

Those pictures were awesome, thanks so much for sharing! Pictures are very important to me on my vacations, so this really helps to know they take lots of pictures of you to capture the moments! Makes me that much more excited!

You are welcome. I was really impressed with the number of pictures they took. And the nice thing about it, if you bought the cd you only got the pictures you were in unlike the Dolphin Encounter in Cabo where the cd contained all the pictures, whether you were in it or not.

Wow! Loved the pix - especially of the "band of pirates" with all the scarves on your heads.

Yeah, we did look a little like pirates. I didn't realize at first why they had put on bandanas then DH explained abut not being able to clean helmets. Duh.

I can't remember for sure but I think there were around 13 and then you repel down at the end. That was fun. They said that we were one of the few groups where all the members finished. I am glad because if you chicken out in the middle they will repel you down and then you have to hike out and it is quite a hike.

I saw Paula Deen do zip-lining on one of her specials, and figured if she could do it, I probably could, too.

I never thought I would do it but my DH really wanted to so I said okay. To make things even more difficult I was suffering from depression at the time and this was completely out of my comfort zone. I was really proud of myself when I did the whole thing.

I love the pictures of the zip lines. I would love to do this at any port but will have to see how things go. If I am stuck on the ship-well, I can think of worse things.

We may do it again. MommaluvsDis and her DH want to do it and want us to do it with them. I will have to check out the one in CR but knowing what to expect is mighty persuasive for PV.

Great job on the cake! I'm going to try the marshmallow fondant. How is it to work with?

Carol, those pics look like so much fun!! Thank you for posting! DH and I really want to do the zipline too. But we are torn between Costa Rica and PV.

The cake was great. This is one thing I have tried. It looks like fun.

I recommend the zip-line for anyone thinking about it. :thumbsup2 The have a weight limit but no age limit. They kept telling us to look at the beauty around us but I never had the time what with trying to remember everything they told us, like how to slow down and stop. I really had a good time.
