From WDW to DL With Love - January 06, 2011 part 2

Welcome to the newcomers! To those of you leaving us-wish you didn't have to but totally understand.

I have a report on the laundry detergent I found at Lowes over the weekend. I used it for my regular laundry and all looks good so far! We got the "fresh air" fragrance and it's fine- no real aroma but that's ok with me. Everything got clean and with it being so concentrated and small (about the size of a regular non-aerosol hair spray bottle) easy to pack. I'll try to post a link when I'm on the other internet later today.

Just a quick entry. I'll be canceling my 1 bedroom at GCV today or tomorrow so if you're wait listed for a 1 bedroom, hopefully you'll be next in line to get it!

Hi everyone! Steve, Doug, Carol and I are pulling out of this cruise. We wish you all calm seas and hope to sail with you one day soon. Carol posted earlier that Doug had an unforeseen termination and that pulling out was a big possibility.

And, as much as I'd love to go thru the Panama Canal I wanted to be on the new ship when it came out so Steve and I will be doing the inaugural cruise.

To the new joinees: This is a great group, you're going to have a fun time!

Have fun and we'll catch you on deck 9 one day soon!

So sorry to hear this but I also totally understand. I will miss sailing with you all again but one never knows when we will catch up with each other.

I know that Denise (MommaLuvsDis) has already been on and said our goodbyes but I just wanted to stop by and touch base my self.

Having been through the canal once we are lucky to have those memories and hopefully one day will be able to make some new ones through the canal.

We will miss meeting all the new people on this cruise and will miss catching up with all those we have sailed with before. I am sure though that we WILL meet again. DH and I love sailing on DCL and will be doing so again.

In fact I do have another cruise to look forward to. We put pen to paper and figured out that we can do a B2B with the inaugural cruise of the Dream and the one after. It will be considerably less expensive since we can drive and not have to worry about excursions, etc. (just souvies ). This was a cruise MommaLuvsDis and I really wanted to do in the first place but our husbands didn't. It turns out we get to do it anyway. I guess it is true, if a door is closed, a window will open.

Good luck to all of you and enjoy the canal as much as we know you will.

Hi Emily and welcome. I think I know you from another cruise thread. Were you on the first Baltic? We cancelled that cruise for the TA in September.
We are waitlisted for a studio at the VGC and not expecting it to come through as I don't think it is very big. Perhaps you will be more lucky with a bigger villa though.



I have already heard from Carol and sorry to learn about them, but sorry you are cancelling too. We had a warning from Carol because of Doug's redundancy. I wish you all well.

Welcome to our new Alabama friends! So sorry to say goodbye to Carol, Doug and Denise and Family. I was looking forward to meeting you all. I hope the Dream inaugural cruise is AWESOME!!

Excursions....so interested in the zipline! Will wait to see if there is anything in Costa Rica - but have DD3 to worry about so the location with the zoo might be an option if someone can stay down with her. I don't think DCousin wants to zipline and has volunteered to watch DD - thanks for posting that info.

OK have to print passport apps - gonna handle that before fee increases.

Oh Oh Oh, I'm so excited. Just popped on my DVC page for about the 100th time since I tried to book a few weeks ago, and our wait list has come through for VGC!!!!! What a surprise. I was just expecting the usual page to come up and lo and behold!!!!! 4 nights in a Studio!

You made me think of my upcoming B2B in Oct. I really want to stay at my home resort if AKV because a friend of mine got the club level there. So because of late planing due to the cancelation of the TA in sep. I am in at OKW for the same amount of points. So far no luck on my wait list but that is alright. I am thinking about canceling my waitlist anyway and going on the waitlist for my stay after the B2B at BWV. Right now we are going back to OKW.

I haven't been on for a while due to the fact my computer crashed and after spending hours on the phone with Dell in India I think I have to break down and get a new one. Right now I am using my friend's computer. I tried to catch up with all the posts.

Goofprincess- nice to see you on again. John finally got rid of his cough and found part of it was due to BP med.

We had some family problems come up and we hope we do not have to cancel this cruise. We are looking forward to doing the canal again.

We like to do something at each port. We figure if we are there we might as well see the local attractions. W are both retired and love to travel. Just did the TA and Med.

JenKatt or Nicole - speaking of Napa Rose - would either of you know if the restaurants in DL are open for anything special on Christmas Day / evening ?

Sally, sorry I do not know of the restaurants doing anything special for Christmas in DLR. I'm sure they are open at the very least so you can at least count on that, and I do remember when I spent New Years Eve/Day in WDW, there were a few restaurants that offered special things on those nights, but I've never done Christmas in Disney so I cant say for sure about that day. But I can tell you that you will enjoy Napa Rose even if its the regular menu- it is one of my favorites, if not the favorite of all my Disney restaurants- I wish it was in WDW so I could go more often!

I love it there and have never stayed in a room that looked it's age. We have also stayed in the BWV (LONG walk to the room) and SSR but that is the extent of my wanderings. There are a few others that I would like to try out someday though.

I can totally understand your wanting to be where your friend is and your trying BWV. After all - variety is the spice of life! Good luck on your waitlist.
