Happy Days! It was the first TV program my parents let me stay up past 8pm to watch on school nights.

Same here !!!
Never got to watch Laverne and Shirley....
Actually I think Happy Days may have been the only prime time show I was allowed to watch in the 70s

From the list I chose "All in the Family" but I like all of the others too, except for CHIPS and Good Times.

Actually I think Happy Days may have been the only prime time show I was allowed to watch in the 70s

I also got to watch Little House on the Prarie- but I don't remember what year it started. I remember Laverne and Shirley coming on after Happy Days- but it didn't debut until the next year, I think. I watched that one, too.

***I just looked it up- Little House and Happy Days both premiered in 1974. Laverne & Shirley debuted in 1976. ***

We didn't get all those over here in the UK (or at least I've never heard of some of them) but I voted Taxi as it introduced me to Christopher Lloyd who was great in it. I loved Happy Days too, but it was on early here and I didn't always get home from school early enough to catch it.

My ultra fave US show from the 70s was Starsky and Hutch, though. I loved Paul Michael Glaser! And also the Six Million Dollar Man.

I picked Bob Newhart, but I had a hard time deciding. I watched all of those shows.

Also loved WKRP :thumbsup2

I can't believe no one said Qunicy! He was the original CSI - I still remember the reconstructed skull episode and lets not forget the ever uptight original character with twisted panties.......Dr. Astin!

Tough choice for me between Happy Days and Brady Bunch ( went w/ Happy Days) but my 2 REAL favorites are Gilligan's Island and I Dream of Jeannie :worship:( Bewitched is a biggie too) can you tell I like to detatch from reality? Maybe mine are more from the 60's.

Happy Days then (as a child) - MASH now (as an adult, MASH wins by a huge margin)...

Mod Squad!!!:goodvibes

I wanted to be Julie and could never decide if I wanted to marry Pete or Linc!:lmao:

I recently bought the first season on DVD and spend most of the episodes giggling at the clothes, the phrases they used. So dated and I still love it so much. :lovestruc

I loved Mod Squad too. I don't think I watched any of the ones on the poll list but I did love Julie, Linc and Pete.

From this list, I'd have to go with "All In The Family":happytv:

But my favorite 70's show is "Sanford and Son"

When I was little, I used to lay in bed with my dad at night, and watch Nick At Night - the line up was The Muppets then Taxi. I wasn't alive in the 70's but out of all the shows you put up there, thats the only one I ever really watched and have memories of.

Happy Days then (as a child) - MASH now (as an adult, MASH wins by a huge margin)...
Same here...except I wasn't born until 1977 but I liked Happy Days reruns best as a child and like MASH best as an adult.
Oh, and I'll add that Little House on The Prairie was my favorite drama (but I was sure if it was 70's or 80's.)

No love for Good Times?

That show was Dyn - O - Mite!

As a grown up, from that list, Bob Newhart is my favorite. I can watch it again and again to this day.

But, way back when at the time, it was a toss up between Love Boat and Fantasy Island for me. I picked Fantasy Island in your poll.

M*A*S*H started out funny...but lost it's appeal when it became nothing more than a platform for Alda's liberal leanings...JMHO...

Loved the Henry Blake/Frank Burns/Trapper/Crazy Clinger era.

Well, in that case, Three's Company aired from '77 to '84, which would make it my #1 choice

Oh yeah, good point. I voted M*A*S*H, but Three's Company is probably my choice for second place. And sometimes I'd rather watch it than M*A*S*H.

I voted for Love Boat because I watched it every week. It is not my current favorite from the list. That would have to be MASH.

I am a sucker for Love Boat. Can still hear the theme song playing in my head. Never mind i was mostly a little kid while it was on. It was just good clean fun.
