From the World of Adults to the World of Kids, Fifth Birthday Trip is Over!!

Looks like Connor has his first girlfriend! Those pictures are so cute.

I'm so glad to see that I'm not missing anything by not staying Club Level.:rotfl2:

Sorry you're having such a hard time trying to get people to commit to Connor's party so you can book stuff. Do people not realize that there are some things that need to be booked ahead, you know, like a room!

Alice and Connor were so enamored with each other that she probably would have been his girlfriend. Thanks. I love them too.

I really do not think people are missing much at all by not doing concierge. There are some that swear by it. We like the deluxe plan, which leaves us too full to partake in the food. Our time is pretty filled too, so we do not have time to waste sitting around in the clubs. Since I am a super planner and actually enjoy it, the concierge desk is not much help to me.

The sad thing is both my family and my husband's family are terrible with RSVPing. I usually have to follow up with both sides of the family multiple times to see who is going. My Dad and my husband's Dad for instance never RSVP until I ask them. Thankfully, his Mom is a lot better. Some people have RSVPd but then told me they're not coming, which is confusing. Crap's Mom and little sister RSVPd. My little brother and his fiance RSVPd. Both of our Dads RSVPd (once I asked them of course). Others have said maybe and some have said nothing one way or the other. It is frustrating. When I get invited to a party, I check my calendar and RSVP or decline right when I see the invitation. Then again, I am a super planner.

The photos of the boys with Alice and the mad hatter are just adorable! You can tell they are having such a good time!

I'm glad to hear another positive review of 1900 park faire breakfast. Its the only ADR I've booked so far for our Oct trip, but I was a little worried that DS wouldn't be into the face characters. It seems like they are really good with the kids, so I guess it will be Ok, and I know DS likes Pooh (or A-pooh-a, as he is know around these parts) and tigger.

I'm really curious to hear how Xander liked the Pirates cruise! That is another experience I have tucked away in my head for when DS gets older. I think it looks like a lot of fun, and am a little jealous that I'm too old to go! :rotfl2:

Love your TR!! So awesome. I'm so impressed with your nursing skills. One handed?! Amazing! LOL. My LO is 3 months and when I'm NIP it's a huge extravaganza. Hard to hold her up, then I have to help keep her latched while holding onto myself and it's just a mess. She never eats well vs all comfy at home. I hope I'm as proficient as you are when we go in October (she'll be 8 months old then).

Looking forward to reading more!

Thanks. Alice and the Mad Hatter were the best characters all week. I am so glad we did Park Fare. The funny thing is I booked it for Pooh and Tigger. The Mad Hatter (no matter where we see him) is always a hit with Xander. He really cracks Xander up. Connor and Alice remind me of Aurora and Xander from a previous trip. Girl characters and boys sometimes mesh very well.

The pirate's cruise does look really fun. Spoiler alert: I think it is one of the best entertainment values at WDW. It was only $36.21 with tax. That gets you a lot in my opinion that I will cover in my next segment.

:welcome:

Thank you. Those nusring skills took a lot of practice. I never nursed my oldest in public, because I was uncomfortable and had a hard time adjusting him. Xander was a much better latcher but was not as still as Connor. All of those concerns went out the window after Connor was born. There are times where it is still difficult to nurse Connor one handed. He does not always lie still when he's nursing, and I need both hands. When he is perfectly still, I can nurse him with one hand and do things like eat with the other. Some things get easier with age and others get harder. Now that he is 10 months old, he squirms a lot more at times. At the same time, I have had more practice with it and can adjust better. The older she gets, the stronger your arms will get too.

You will get there. Just keep trying. I really think nursing through the world is much easier than dealing with bottles. We did the bottle thing with Xander (at 4 months -Dl, 6 months -Dl and 10 months -Knott's Berry Farm), so I have done both. Connor is still nursing on demand, so I will be nursing him through our Dl trip this June. It will be so hot, so I am guessing that will be a little harder.

i was not even aware the little mermaid flooded, but i am excited to ride it.

Crap prefers qs at wdw, but i prefer it at dl. For ts, i think it is the other way around. I still hope to dine at club 33 some day but am over being a member and eating there on our next trip. Neither are likely to happen.

I always hope people get eveything they want on their trips too. People approach me for disney help quite often too. You go more than i do, so your help is probably more valuable. The pp is out of rooms at the $305 level for our four night stay, so i wonder if that $275 would be for all four nights. I would not pay that for that room anyway. If i am spending $275, i want a nicer hotel than that. Most of the ones i am looking into are over $200 a night. We need to book before the prices rise again. If crap does not get back to me by this weekend, i will ask him to make a decision.

People still need to get back with me on who is going. At this point, i really do not even have a clue. We took a last minute trip the month woc opened and got a reservation for four. Sounds like it has gotten harder. This time, we need a reservation for a much larger party size, so i need about a month to book it. If they do not get back with me on time, i will try to book with an educated guess.

Thanks. We mostly book our reservation for minnie and friends for pre-park opening and usually pull off exiting the restaurant at park opening a lot better than we did at wdw this past trip. They offer early reservations even on non magic mornings. I usually prefer that. We are not rope drop people.

The deposit to book the four night stay is over $500 right now. I do not want to tie those funds up if we only cancel later. If they do not offer a discount soon, we are going to book somewhere else and just live with the decision.

Thanks for saying i wrote the report well. I am very left brained thus not a great writer. Crap always makes fun of my writing, so it is nice to hear someone likes it. His latest criticism was that i wrote mistakingly instead of mistakenly. When i asked him where he said, "i don't know. Your writing is so bad. It would take a long time to take notes about all of your mistakes."

i was really thinking about doing the tr for dl, because then i would have one for each of the three things i've done wdw, dl and dcl). It is a lot of work, so i keep debating back and forth. Hopefully, crap will not find the link to that one. His criticism is the hardest part of the reports. He is not a dis member, so at least he does not criticize me publicly. I really cannot wait to read your report about carsland. Thanks again for doing it.

I have it on dvr. We went to the san gennaro feast tonight, so i have not watched modern family yet. Crap is watching american idol right now, so i will have to watch it tomorrow while he is at work. It looks really good.

Here is the link that HydroGuy posted about the flood on the Little Mermaid ride: Little Mermaid Ride Damaged in Accident

When I looked at the PPH days and it showed one of the days during your trip not available. If I did spent that much money for a hotel room for one night, I would have no problem staying at the GCH standard which the lowest I have seen the last few years at $225. There are a lot of nice hotels down on Harbor Blvd like the Embassy Suites South which also has a bus to the bus loading/unloading area. Hope you get your hotel some time soon so you don't have to worry when you get closer to your trip.

First I thought it was going to be hard to get dining FPs for WoC. But after this morning, it should be no problem. I assume that you heard or read that the Carthay Circle restaurant is now taking reservations. I also talked to the CM on the phone today and said that if you order a entree & appetizer/dessert, you will be eligible to get a WoC dining FP for the first show. It was neat to hear that we can get our reservations at the CC restaurant and get WoC dining FPs as long as we spend a certain amount at the restaurant.

At least you will have breakfast before the park officially opens. Rope drop at 8am is so amazing since there are not that many people until 9 to 10am in the morning. I always go first thing in the morning so I can get on some rides and get some pics while the park is empty.

Some people say that I write good TR's on my thread, but I am actually a terrible writer. That's why I use my pictures as my storytelling for where ever I go I always get a picture to tell where I have been and what I did. I barely get any pics of me or any of my party members since they don't want to be in my pictures. I try to get myself in the picture for the trips, but I am always busy getting pictures for my thread.

It is a lot of work to write the TR and upload the pictures on the thread. But I like to tell everyone about my adventures and the updates of the resort.

Modern Family Disneyland edition was nice and kind odd when I watched the episode last night. There were quite a number of scenes during the show that showed the rope off area of where the guests were not allowed to enter where they were shooting the show. At the end of when they all meet at the Hub, you can see around the flag retreat that there were a lot of people looking at the cast right close to GMwML. That scene where they were right by GMwML is what I have picture taken during my trip in early March. It was neat to see that scene last night where I took pictures.

I like your photo right by the Christmas tree at the lobby as well as the picture of the gingerbread house.

That must be neat to get upgraded to the concierge. We all like to follow our plans and have nothing interrupt it. So I don't think that you are crazy and not trying it. At least on the last day you get to check it out and got some great pics from the top floors of the GF.

I am looking forward to hear about Xander's pirate adventure on your next post.

Thanks for that link. Good thing that happened at night when no one was there.

I will have a hotel booked before the weekend is over. That gives me a few days to finish looking into my options and make a decision. For a second, I thought we would stick to the tried and true. The Hilton does not have all of our dates open though, and I do not want to switch hotels on a four night stay.

I saw that CC opened over on your thread, so I sent Disney Dining an email. Hopefully, I get that and the others I requested. It is exciting that the WoC tickets are for center stage.

We have never made an actual rope drop, but we have been in the park right at opening thanks to those early restaurant reservations. It is nice to get a lot done in a short period of time. Hopefully, it does not backfire like it did at WDW last trip.

I like your TR and writing. The pictures are cool too. Crap also forbade me from posting pictures of him, since he is so private. He gave in at the last minute and agreed thankfully. It would have been a lot harder to exclude all of the ones with him in it.

I love reading about your adventures, so I am glad you keep writing them. It is hard not to get lazy, since it takes hours to do a segment. Ultimately, I will probably write it anyway despite the work, because I realize trip reports can be so helpful to others.

I watched the Modern Family episode today, and I liked it. If I like the episode that airs next week, the show will pick up a new viewer just for filming at Disneyland. The little girl on the leash with her Dads chasing after her still has me laughing.

Thank you. I really like those pictures by the tree and gingerbread house too. They scream Christmas.

It was cool to say we stayed concierge, but I am glad we did not alter any plans to check it out sooner. We would have been very disappointed.

Aye Matey. I will post about that pirate cruise tomorrow.

Your welcome. Good thing that it was at night and not during the day.

Can't wait to hear what hotel you will be staying during your trip.

That is good to hear that you made a request for a reservation at Carthay Circle. Hope you get all of your dining reservations for your trip. Good thing that there is another way to get a WoC dining FP instead of WCT.

Thank you. I understand what Crap is saying that he doesn't want his picture on the thread. Just like my DA which she doesn't like to have too many pictures of her on the thread.

There are a lot of people that reads people's TR to get some information when they go on their trip one day. It is tough to write up these TR everyday, but I like to tell my adventures at the parks. I'm glad to hear that you are considering writing your DL TR.

The show was very nice on Wednesday. That was really funny when the little girl was let go of her leash and followed Chip and Dale.

We got our CC reservation although I am not sure I will order an appetizer or dessert with the entree to get WoC passes if we get the WCT reservation. If we do not, than I will. It is nice that they will offer the passes as well, since AG no longer does.

I love reading trip reports myself. Yours is the best Disneyland one I've come across (or Matt lead me to it technically). The pressure is always on when you write your own knowing there are always so many good ones to choose from. After talking to DH last night, I will write a Dl report for sure.

The Captain opened up the chest and there was definitely treasure in it.

325.jpg

Crap brought Xander back up to our hotel room. He could not open his treasure fast enough. There were a few trinkets in his bag, but the one he loved the most was a mini treasure chest. I remember another tattoo, an eye patch, a treasure map and a plastic necklace. Xander loved the pirate cruise so much that I am honestly planning on having him do it again every time we go to WDW while he is still under 12.

326.jpg

328.jpg

329.jpg

It has been a while, since he took the cruise. From what he remembers, they offered drinks, and he chose water for his (of course). He says they did not offer snacks, but he had just eaten breakfast and was probably not hungry. Crew members told stories and they stopped at an “island” to find treasure. Everyone looked for treasure, and they were so happy when they found it. This was the best entertainment value I’ve seen at WDW. For $36.21, they get snacks, drinks, fun, treasure and the parents get a two hour break from the kids.

Every day when I pick Xander up from preschool, his shoes and socks are covered in sand. He sometimes dumps the sand from his shoes out onto my wood floors and it falls in between the slats. This kid loves a sandbox, so he really loves the beach (a giant sandbox). Any time we have a chance to take him to the beach, we have to do it. Our next stop was to finally check out the beach. It was portioned off for the work they were doing on the spa and the secret project (rumored to be a new DVC property). I was bummed about that construction, because I got a call a few months before our arrival stating I had to cancel my massage. Later, Disney tried to reschedule me at Saratoga Springs and offered a private car to drive me there, but I felt that would take too much time away from my family rather than just an hour. Even with the construction, it was still beautiful. Xander loved playing in the sand. Crap, Connor and I just relaxed until Xander got his fill.

331.jpg

332.jpg

333.jpg

When Xander felt he played in the sand long enough, we went over to the main pool. Even though it was December, we were relieved when he was ready. It was hot sitting on the beach with the sun beating down on us. This was Connor’s first time in a swimming pool. He has been in the water quite a bit since then as he has been in regular swim classes since early February. For his first time in the water, he did very well. We were so proud of him, because the water was cold. Despite staying in the water for a while, we were not getting used to it.

334.jpg

We wanted to try the slides. I went first while Crap held Connor in the pool. Xander was getting nervous before his turn approached. He is a great swimmer for his age, but he has an aversion to large slides. When he was about two, he caught air going down a slide and got banged up a little. Since then, he likes slides but only small ones. For safety reasons, people can only go down one person at a time. He mustered up the courage and went down. Crap took his turn. Then, I went again. Xander was not interested in going down a second time. His lips were quivering and bluish purple. My poor baby was cold, so we all got out of the water. After warming up and drying off in the sun for a few minutes, we headed back toward our room.

336.jpg

337.jpg

338.jpg

We were passing by the pool that was closer to our room. I decided to stop and see if it was any warmer, since we still had more time before our next appointment. It was not any warmer, so we kept walking. When we passed by the bar, Xander spotted a pretzel. The bar allowed us to use a snack credit for the pretzel, and we were off. Xander barely ate any of the pretzel, so he was obviously not hungry. After taking showers and relaxing for a little bit, it was time for Xander’s next appointment. Once again, Crap walked Xander to his appointment while I stayed in the room and nursed Connor.

Xander’s destination was the Wonderland Tea Party. Crap dropped Xander off and came back to our room. This is another event that almost did not happen. Crap was concerned that it was too girly. Reviewing the pictures, most of the attendees were girls. There was only one other boy besides Xander. The pirate cruise was all boys with two girls, so this was an exact flip. You can see from the pictures that Xander had a great time. He loves the Mad Hatter, so it was a no brainer that he would enjoy it. They decorated cupcakes, played, danced, and drank juice (Xander just played with his) in place of tea with Alice and the Mad Hatter.

They even made a picture frame that looked like a teapot. Xander’s said Dad and had a sticker that said World’s Greatest Mom. It looks like he made it for both of us to share. I love it, and they gave the kids some flowers to give to their mothers as well. When it was time to pick up Xander, Connor was napping. Crap insisted that I go pick him up. There was a Photopass photographer there the whole time, which is where all of the pictures came from. After the event, we were instructed to walk upstairs to the Photopass location. The cast member had me show her which pictures from the master list included Xander, and she added them to the CD.

Xander was raving about what a good time we had for a while after the event was over. When we arrived back at the room, Connor was still sleeping. I still had more up my sleeve for the evening, but he made it sound like that was going to be hard to top. Will I top it?

aww, that looks like lots of fun! what a lucky boy Xander is!

Zachary's first time in a pool was also at Disney in December. Later that week it was like 40 degrees out and Zachary got very sick w bronchiolitis, but here he is when it was still warm and he was ok!

I think Xander was very happy for all of the extra things he got to do.

I love those pictures. That is an amazing reaction. Connor did not start smailing like that until his fourth or fifth time in the water. Xander took even longer than that to smile in the water. That stinks that he got sick later in the week, but he really enjoyed his first time in the water.

Both the pirate cruise and the wonderland tea part look like so much fun! You are such an awesome mom to schedule both in the same day, I think that would be very hard to top! I'm sure Xander will always remember what a magical day he had!

Do you remember how far apart each one was? It would be an awesome day for the adults if we could schedule a spa appointment during one, and then a kid-free meal during the other. Everyone would be having fun!

I think Xander had a great time with both.

The pirate cruise was from 9:30am to 11:30am, and the tea party was from 2pm to 3pm. The times never change to my knowledge. You could plan things around them. I had a 10am massage scheduled, but they called and canceled it once they decided to build something on or around the spa. We did not schedule anything for the tea party, because it takes some time to get to and from the drop off location and the spa asks you to get there a little before your appointment, but maybe a half hour treatment could work.

The pirate cruise and tea party look like a lot of fun. These will be great activities for P when he gets a little older.

Glad to see that Connor was starting to enjoy the water, too bad the water wasn't warmer. I'm a baby, I need pool water to be at bathtub temperature.

Can't wait to hear what other surprises you have up your sleeve.:surfweb:

It looks llike Xander had a great time at both activities! Its too bad Logan is too young I think he would love them as well! He's actually really into tea parties right now! LOL

How nice that Connor's first swim was at Disney!

Looking forward to seeing what you have planned next!

Glad to hear that you got a reservation for the Carthay Circle restaurant for your upcoming trip. I am really excited to go and eat at the Carthay Circle if we do go on the opening week, if not I will be looking forward to your TR about it. I believe skiingfast (Matt) called the Carthay Circle Restaurant CCR as for short. For about $10-$20 more a person which means a WoC dining FP which is not that bad.

I do appreciate it Kim that you like my TR. The only problem about my TR's is that I don't have too many pics of me or any of my party members since they don't want to be in the picture. When I read other TR's from other people they always have them in the pictures while most of my pictures are where I am going around the parks. I do give updates around the park after each visit, but as you know that my upcoming trip is all about CL & BVS. That is great news to hear that you will write up a DL TR when you come back. I bet Xander and Connor can't wait to go to DL next month.

Glad that Xander like both the Pirate Cruise as well as the Wonderland Tea Party.

Get to go to relax at the beach and the pool.

Nice update to your TR.

Looks like a fun day! I'll bet Maddie would like the Tea Party too. You guys must be pretty brave to get in the pool in December! I'd have been freezing!

I'm eager to hear what you had planned for the evening!

I think P will enjoy them. It is too bad that they do not have a Photopass Photographer on the pirate cruise, but I know he had a great time there too.

I do not like cold water either, but Xander really has an aversion to cold water. He gets so cold, starts shivering, gets goose bumps and turns blue. Connor actually did better in the cold water than Xander did.

I was not certain how he would do with the next surprises but was hopeful he would enjoy them.

It looks llike Xander had a great time at both activities! Its too bad Logan is too young I think he would love them as well! He's actually really into tea parties right now! LOL

How nice that Connor's first swim was at Disney!

Looking forward to seeing what you have planned next!

Xander really did enjoy both. It is too bad that he is too young for those things. You may not like this idea, but there is another tea party at the GF. It is the My Disney Girl's Perfectly Princess Tea Party. Crap has made it very clear that I will never do that one unless I have a daughter, but I know for a fact they have things for boys too. For the price they charge and the fact that the girls' gifts are way better, I doubt many boys go. Since Logan will only be three, it could be an option if you want to do it with him.

I love that too. We were hoping to have his first haircut there, but at least he had his first swim there.

I was excited about the next plans, but was not sure how Xander would do.

We may or may not ask for WoC passes when we dine at CC. If we do not get WCT for Connor's birthday or are in the mood for extra appetizers or dessert anyway, we will ask. It could be as little as $8 extra dollars, since desserts work too. The CM said the desserts start at $8.

PIO does not post a lot of pictures of her family either for HKDL, but I still like hers as well. It is just a different way to tell the story. Looking at the attractions is cool too. Crap and I rarely remember to get the shots that are so great in yours. Xander is excited about Disneyland. I am not great at keeping things like that (although I love watching others get surprised at the last minute). Hopefully, Connor has a great time too. Kids usually get a little harder each trip the older they get until they reach about four,so we'll see how it goes.

Xander really did like the pirate cruise and tea party. We all enjoyed the beach and pool.

Thanks.

She probably would like the tea party a lot. The weather that day was actually warm (as it had been all week too). It was odd that the water was cold. We stayed at Caribbean Beach in January with slightly colder outside weather, and the pool was warm. I like everything about the CBR pool better anyway. Since the weather is unpredictable, we would not have swam if it was cold outside. When we got out of the pool and laid in the sun, it felt nice.

I hoped Xander would like our plans.

Wow! Just found your TR and love it....and can't believe you have so many other Disney trips planned already!!! What line of work does your husband do and are they hiring??!!:)
