From the Med to the Panama Canal

We always get at least one bag searched by security before flying - I dread to imagine how they manage.

Last time I expanded the suitcases to pack and then squashed down to zip back up the expandable bit to make it appear smaller. One was opened by security, but they never got the expandable zip zipped up again!!!

That's exactly why I pack in the packing bags, they can see, but not touch.

Thank you for the rapid responses! I will go and get ziploc bags now so we'll have plenty!! And yes, I was planning to stick in markers and I heard candy too for the CMs!! Thanks so much for your help!! I can't wait!

And thanks for the tip on the over the door organizer too! I had read it awhile back I think but I forgot so I'll pick that up too! Any other good tips for us first timers?

Blue painters tape and magnets for hanging up all your daily family plans.
highlighter, there will be so many things to do you can organize the night before.
extra bags for beach, movies, pool.

If you think Kel is bad, then you have to see a pilot's packed suitcase! We can get a whole months into one of those luggage pro's that those crew members use! We were gone last year for the TA/Med for 39 days and only had 2 roll ons and 1 regular suitcase. Then we didn't know about those little gifts from Disney so packing at the end was very interesting.... Don't tell DH but I have packed a duffled bag into the luggage this year! Its all folded up nice and neat in the luggage already.

I always think it's like a Mary Poppins endless bag.

Kel sometimes I can hear Edna's voice in your responses and not your voice in my little head!

What time should I have the car pick us up from the port? We have late seating so that would be late breakfast. Does anyone remember what time breakfast is on the last day?

I reorganized our bags and took out the 10 pounds of books from DH and went straight to the post office and sent them. 10 pounds not kidding.

I always bring liquid hand soap. I hate having to use bar soap to wash my hands in our rooms.

The first time we went on our cruise I bought a new variety of antibacterial soap at Bath & Body Works--Kitchen Lemon. Loved the smell.

Now when I wash my hands with it at the kitchen sink, it always reminds me of being on a cruise!

Silly the things that make us smile sometimes.

TIP - when using Kitchen Lemon turn you rings palms in while you suds up your hands. You will be amazed how much the rings sparkle when you are done.

Hi everyone! Just wanted to tell you all to have a Fantastic time on your Panama Canal cruise. Last year we did the Transatlantic with Edna Mode and she is so much fun! I hope someone will be doing a thread so I can read of your happenings every day and live vicariously through you!! Enjoy the cruise, take care of the Magic and I will be watching the Saturday you leave, waving from a restaurant by Port Canaveral and taking pictures. I am turning green with envy!!!!

I've used it (Sunlight brand) in the past and never had any problems , but my Mom tried it, and left marks on some of her coloured stuff even though its supposed to be colour safe , so she would only use it with whites. Maybe she just got a bad batch . I always used to put the soap in first and then some water to get the soap dissolved before putting the clothes in, maybe that's why it worked great for me.

My brother was moved out of ICU at 1:00 today. But even though he wanted desperately to get out of there, he is now scared in the step down without the level of attention that he became accustomed to. They are 4-1 in the acute care unit, and totally different people. I told Amy he is very afraid and apprehensive about change. Afraid he will slip again into another infection. He is also lonely and bored.

I just don't know why hospitals don't give patients internet access. I would be chomping at the bit to have my laptop with me and talking to my friends. I bet this will change in time.

I am whipped. Non-stop day with a lot of stress today. I felt like I was running all day long and chasing my tail.

Oh, and the packing for the cruise . . . let's just say we have not done ONE thing. We will have to get on the ball this weekend or we are sunk.
