From the Med to the Panama Canal

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

She had 25 bags at 70 LBS each!

I was going to ship the rest of the lanyards, but they were so heavy it would have cost more to ship and since we have that once day grace period before the baggage rules change I'm taking just taking another bag. .... Jonathan's suit jacket as well. Unfortunately, I just realized that I didn't pack the 30 DVD's I wanted to give to cast members of TV shows from last season. I'm so full I don't know where to put them. It would help if I wasn't carrying a potty seat!!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Have you seen the ones that fit on top of the toilet? They are travel seats and they fold. They are great!

OK you guys, since I am a bit out of the loop . . . I thought I better post over here too. I caught a little bit of this, but I can't keep up with the old thread either. I will probably just post to both threads.

I truly hope everyone is OK all the way around, and I truly miss ALL of you. Here is what I just posted over on the "numbered" thread.

Just a drive by post again to subscribe. I haven't bailed so much - I just can't keep up! Too much time at the hospital - although it is getting much easier. Either tomorrow or the next day, my brother will probably be moved out of ICU to a "step down" type of unit. He is communicating well now - got him a white board so that he can write since I am such a terrible lip reader (I sure wish I had you here Deborah!). His sense of humor is intact - we finally got a bad nurse (sorry Angie, but she is retired military) and I have been calling her the General. He was supposed to get her again tonight, and he got the nurse before to change the duty roster! I brought a plate of chocolates for everyone and he told the nurse everyone can have some except the General.

For all of our Jewish friends who just recently celebrated their Passover, we just had ours, our Pascha (Greek for Passover) was today (Easter to everyone else). What a joyous Holy Week it was for my family as we feel that my brother was indeed given back to us from the dead. I got to go to midnight services last night (Deb, I lit a candle for your mother).

For all of our Greek and other Orthodox Christian Friends,

Christos Anesti!

(Christ is Risen!)

Glad everything is going good for you!

We're spending one night at POR before the cruise, and we have never stayed there before

Can anyone recommend a nice quiet place to realx with a good meal, after a long day of travelling. We definitely do not want to do the crowded foodcourt again...almost as much stress as travelling

Only one provisio.....must be either in the resort or close by....plan on heading to bed early that night to rest before the excitement of boarding the next day

Oh that's easy - You and Zoe can each have 2 bags. Fill a bag with the DVD's and bubble wrap for cushioning. Then that bag and the bubble wrap can be used for whatever yummy cooking stuff and other souveiners (sp?) you find on the trip. Remember you don't have to fly home:banana: . Ok, so I'm not helping with the whole pack light thing :rolleyes1 . Truth be told, the bubble wrap really did come in handy ...

Look at it this way, you are packed and you don't leave for three more days. No way are you going to accidently pack the label maker or a hole punch in the frenzied 3am last minute "pack" :rotfl2: - You're Good!

Already used up my 4 bag limit, I think if I take them out of their cases and put em in baggies then I can find somewhere to put them. It's funny I was looking for my single hole punch and can't find it to bring... I should look in your luggage.

someone else told me about them, I forgot all about that idea. I'll check target today.

Everyone who is knew to cruising, go over to kmart and get an over the door plastic see through door hanger. You put all the little stuff that floats all over your room into the pockets to keep things organized. It's probably the single most important thing we bring.

Well POR has Boatrights which has good food. Have a look on Allears for the menu. I would try and book an ADR just in case.

You could take the boat down to DTD. That is a lovely relaxing trip. We have done that on our last 2 trips on our arrival night. Again, check Allears for menus and restaurants. Book ADR's for sit downs. I can recommend Wolfgang Puck Express for a counter service with wonderful food. It has just been done up and has more seating, including outdoor. The chicken and mash is lovely, particularly followed by creme brullee!!!

Not too sure anywhere there could be called quiet, but the atmosphere is great.

:lmao: quiet has a different meaning at WDW:lmao:

Thanks for the suggestions, we just want someplace to 'relax' and unwind without being overrun....think a busy food court....

suspect we will hit Boatwrights as we don't want Liam to be tempted by DTD....we might just miss the cruise:rotfl:

Can we take the boat from OKW to DTD then a boat from DTD to Beach Club/Epcot?

Today is the last day to PM me with your names for lanyard badges (if you have not already done so.) The box is being sealed tonight. If you want a lanyard for this group make sure you include how many and the names of each person in the group. The new ones do not have imprinting, they are green, not lime green. The badges will match everyone elses.

Hometown/State Postcard Exchange

Ok if you want to participate in this you have till May 1 at noon to get me the information (I know this is quick but I want everyone to be able to purchase postcards before they leave their home)

You may purchase the postcards or create them from a picture you take of a famous landmark and use peel and stick postcard backs to create your postcard. Your family's name or names should be placed on the back somewhere or have the kids sign the back of each card - if you wish to add some history of the landmark that would be great too. If you add information and want to print it up to make it easier - you may want to get envelopes that fit the postcards and place both in the envelope for the exchange.

They can be any type of card from your town that makes it special - for example if we live in Jackson, TN and it is home to Casey Jones. I will get a postcard of his train and write a little bit about it. If I was in West Virginia (where I am from) I would probably bring a postcard of the mountains and tell some facts about WV (like it is the only state to be completely in a mountain range) - I think any type of card would be educational about a place we do not live Even something fun like a town a few counties over is having the Tea Pot Festiville this week - it is a big deal - that would be interesting.

INFORMATION NEEDED:

Your name
Child(ren)'s names (if any)
Hometown
Stateroom #

How many cards requested from each location (if you have more than one child do you want one for each or just one card for the family)

Do you want to have a meet on board to exchange or do you want to deliver them to participating staterooms? (can be put under the door if no fish extender) I will let everyone know the outcome to this one.

If I forgot a detail let me know! I will keep the list in a spread sheet to make it easy to send out to everyone.

Hi,
I don't know if you are really into scrapbooking, but when I was at the store the other day, I saw a small package that made me think of you-it has IASW stickers in it. Do you have any scrapbooking items on IASW? It is really not much, but it is cute. If you don't have anything like it, I would be glad to get one for you. Vicki

I would LOVE that! :lovestruc Let me know how much I owe. :goodvibes

Thank you for starting a slower thread! I'm hoping to keep up with this one!

Quick question (newbie here): If we want to have pillowcases signed do we need to bring them in gallon size bags or do they provide them? I think I also read that there's a sheet to fill out too?! Thanks for your help! We're trying to get everything together so we can actually pack it!!!

Put them in your own gallon size baggie, include a paper with your stateroom number on it and take to Guest Services. I put markers in with mine, but they used their own. :confused3 This really does make a wonderful souvineer.
