From the Med to the Panama Canal

I am flying in on Thursday (5/8/08) and using our DVC points to stay at a studio at Animal Kingdom Lodge. I have an annual pass so I will be lining up first thing saturday morning for the AP preview of Toy Story Mania at the studios.

I am trying to decide on what to put on a magnet. This is the first "special" cruise so I can hardly wait to see what things are special for this trip.

My Luggage Tags arrived yesterday....YEA!!!! Its getting closer and closer!!

I am so excited that my coworkers will be happy to have me gone soon. ha ha

Regarding DOOR SIGN:

On page 190 of the Thieves thread there is a wonderful sign done that shows the cruise itinerary with Disney characters. Everyone is welcome to print and use that one. It was done by a DISer who isn't even on our cruise....isn't that nice?

.

That was the one I saw and I could not remember where it was on the site. It is great. Thanks for the help!!

It is now posted over my desk at work to remind people I am going to have fun and they are not!! :)

New Cabo Excursion, it a private tour.

"HOT SPRINGS AND WATERFALLS AT THE EAST CAPE
Embark on a one-of-a-kind adventure aboard your own private vehicle to the outer reaches of Cabo and into the East Cape Region. Begin your day with a 90-minute scenic drive up the Coast of the Sea of Cortez passing stunning beaches, opulent hotels and the desert landscape unique to the region. Arriving at the East Cape, you will take a short hike to a beautiful waterfall. Enjoy a dip in the cool waters and marvel at the sandy shores gleaming with gold pyrite.

After your approximate 60-minute stop, continue on to the hot mineral springs. A hot spring is a spring which is produced by the emergence of geo-thermally heated groundwater from the Earth's crust. Experience a natural spa treatment as you feel your cares melt away, before cooling off in the icy cold adjacent mountain stream.

Savor a boxed or picnic lunch in this idyllic setting before returning to your van for the 90-minute journey back to the pier. If time permits, your driver will include a stop downtown for a keep sake or souvenir to commemorate your visit."

This sounds amazing, wow!

It won't - we've been over here for a year and it's not a problem. Everyone know they are welcome, but it is slower moving over here. The chatters are not offended at all. And most of us go back and forth anyway. So don't worry.

I agree, it's fine!

Ahhh...but I'm not sure if you remember, she was booked on our cruise! She had to cancel due to her DH's schedule (he's military).

Don't forget the Disney show on the Travel Channel tonight.

I think this one is "Disney on a Dime".

Vicki, get there as soon as you can after 9:30am, they have two piles of Boarding numbers, in October the left side was giving out #7 at 10:00-10:30 am and the right side as giving out #5's. No logic to me, maybe you can see some.

Pj

Hi Vicki, Welcome,
When we did the Transatlantic last May the numbers were done in order. It seemed like they were just going in order. We arrived at the terminal about 10:30am and were in group 5, but we actually didn't board with our group but like 3 or 4 groups later. We were meeting other Dis members that were there, checking in, taking pictures with Characters, checking DH into the club, going over the mini navigator, taking pictures, meeting new friends. I do know that once we got on, got Palo reservations, tickets to tea and alcohol tasting it was 1pm and they started letting people go to their staterooms. And we still hadn't gotten to the buffet upstairs for lunch. When you meet Alex you will how important FOOD is to me. You know I love you honey! Ask any questions you may have, because you never know if someone else has the same one. It's like collective knowledge here! Enjoy!

Thank everyone who responded-so it isn't safe to assume that if you get there super early, you will get a first(after cat 1-3) boarding number? They actually let us board right after the family of the day and the cat 1-3 since we had checked in at the Poly.

Whilst it is lovely having two threads, I hope it doesn't turn into a them and us thing!:sad2:

I am here because I couldn't keep up, and was not able to speed read throught all the silliness. I am not angry at anyone, nor do I begrudge anyone having fun. I love to have fun, but 30-50 pages each night was just too much for me, especially this close to departure. I love hearing about all the people on the boards and seeing all the pictures, but after reading that they were not going to change their posting in spite of several requests, I decided to come here. Each to their own-our differences make the world go round. I will also still go over there some too because I like hearing about all the posters, and want to hear it all, just not so much of the same thing:goodvibes I hope I explained that okay-I respect everyone on the boards and their opinions.....Vicki

I was worried about some of you. I thought something had happen. It seemed people had disappeared or already left for their vacation. But alas here you are. I'm glad I found you again my friends.:thumbsup2

Thanks Jackie, I almost forgot and since I'm the cheapest person on the planet I wanted to see this one.

Welcome to the slow motion thread, Nanatink.

Vicki, you expressed it perfectly. I don't begrudge anyone from having fun but I was having a tough time sifting through the fun to find what was important to me regarding the cruise. Unfortunately I only have limited time these days and if I had more time, reading the 40+ pages each night wouldn't be a problem. I'm still posting over there, I'm just not able to READ it all!

Deb (Ella Enchanted) posted a nice list of room numbers for fish extenders. I think that there may be a few additions or corrections, but it is fun to see whose rooms are around you.

Hope there is room for one more over here. Like many of you, I just can't keep up with the other.

I promise that I won't post much... :rotfl:

Check out my post count... I think I hold the record for fewest posts per year! :guilty:

Hi everyone, Just catching up again

Docs arrived in the mail today, reworking my packing list, no lodge on the 8th so I will be able to start packing once Dan is in bed (hoping he does not see the luggage in my room in the AM before he goes to school), arranged for shuttle to LAX on the 9th (praying very hard Delta has no problems that night on the Red Eye!) Still need to make ressie for Port back to house. I am thinking a 10am pick up from port should work.

Morning music just for us - this was our welcome to Barcelona. We're standing on our verandah on deck 6 facing the town.

Okay, that brought tears to my eyes. Gosh, popped over here, I could read 28 pages to catch up in no time! This is my kind of thread.

Kelly, I agree, the post of the fireworks is great. I really enjoyed watching them from the deck, but wow to see them from the air like that was truely amazing. Thank you again for posting it.

I hate to say this but it's so warm here that we have our A/C on!!! It's supposed to be in the 80s tomorrow. I'm always amazed how it can be snowing somewhere and horribly hot in another place!!

They are calling for high 90's this weekend Burbank and I have a parade to march in on Sat and a charity car show to work at on Sunday. Good training for the Transit on the 16th:laughing:

Hey, if you guys have a night when a few folks are missing at your table, maybe we and McDonalds (Kaylee) could sneak over to early seating and join you guys!:cool2: (We're late seating)

Everyone is always welcome to slide into our table anytime (early seating)

Hi kids!
I've been encouraging everone I talk to to remember to let their table mates know when they don't plan on going to the dining room for just this reason. It would be nice to be able to pick up the phone and invite a DIS friend (from out of your rotation) to join you one night for dinner! PLUS...don't forget, you can always make breakfast or lunch dates with folks you'd like to know better!

Works for me, great idea.

 OH, I'm so glad you guys found us.... Welcome!!!!!
Vicki, We got there at about 8:30 -9:00 and there was a small line in front of us and everyone was already heading into the terminal. I don't remember numbers or anything like that I was so excited to meet people that I'd been talking to for a over a year. So, I headed straight to the upgrade line (since the ship was only half full - that won't happen this year!!!) The characters were out and it was a blast. It was hard to believe that we weren't even onboard yet. We will go at 8:30 this time to get there at 9:30. Linda, Susie and I will be at the ears handing out the lanyards, white boards and mini navigators after we get checked in. There are some seats next to the ears and we'll be planted there.

Kelly, I will look for you by the ears to pick up our lanyards. I will be the one that looks like a loaded down mule with toothpicks holding its eyes open andtwo sled dog puppies running ahead of me, trying to pull me on to the ship as fast as they can.

Hi all,

As most of you know our original order for lanyards ran out. We've had enough people ask for additional lanyards, so we are officially ordering more lanyards and badges.

I am looking for 2 people to donate $20 or $25 whatever you can swing- please PM me if you can donate. You can pay cash or paypal. They will be regular green instead of lime green with no imprinting, but I will make a badge that matches everyone elses. This means we will have many extras if anyone loses their lanyards or ruins them in some way. I'll bring blank badges also for extras or for mis-spelled names etc.

If you are still interested in getting a lanyard please PM me with your extact names for everyone in your party by Monday at the latest!

Kelly, If no one else steps up to the plate, I will help out a 2nd time around. I think everyone should have a DIS lanyard that wants one. Lord knows I may need a replacement or two with my guys. Let me know and I can give you cash at the port.

To all the "new folks" who found us here, welcome. I will say I was surprised to find that I had 5 pages here to read tonight, but that is still better then the 40 on the main thread. See everyone very soon!

I forgot about this thread and I couldn't keep up with the other one. Thanks for keeping it alive. I'll now go back and read this one, see what I missed and ask questions (if they are any left).

Thanks again folks for a "down to business thread".
