Hello all! I don't know the area too well, hoping for some advice re: the local roads.

We're staying for a night in a beach hotel before our WDW checkin. It's in Indiatlantic, just south of Rt 192.

Heading to the world from there, is it OK to take Rt 192 all the way, or would it be better to take 95 north to 528? Or some other way entirely?

Thanks for any help.

I-95 to 528 would be shorter because it is all highway. The only downside to taking Rt 192 the whole way is the red lights (stop and go) and possibility of traffic because of the red lights and Rt 192 does have its share of traffic. I-95 to 528 is all highway versus Rt 192 with red lights. Another thing to consider is that 528 has tolls, which can be a pain if you don't normally carry cash or have a SunPass. Hope this helps and any other questions just ask. :)

Sounds good, I'll go via 528.

SunPass and EZPass need to come to terms, it'd make my life easier. :badpc:

Will a couple dollars in change cover it?

Thanks

I definitely agree on that one, I have to have a SunPass and an EZPass because I used to live in NH and I still have family that lives there, so I make the journey up I-95 through Jersey and others with my EZPass and love it.

I just looked on the Expressway Authority Toll Calculator they have just to make sure I have the right cost of the tolls because just like with EZPass, there is a discount for tolls for SunPass users. The cost of the tolls, paying with cash/change one way from where you will start from I-95 and 528, all the way to I-4 is $4.25. Here is the link to the toll calculator: https://www.oocea.com/TravelersExpressways/TravelResources/TollCalculator.aspx

Another option is that you can purchase a SunPass at any CVS statewide in Florida. They have a SunPass mini that is $4.99 and they have a Portable SunPass transponder that is $25. The only difference between the two is that the Portable one is just that, you can move it from vehicle to vehicle because it has suction cups to mount it on the windshield. The SunPass mini, once mounted in place (with an adhesive similar to 3M that makes up the back of the SunPass) it can't be removed because the windshield actually acts as an antenna. Here's a link for more information about the SunPass: https://www.sunpass.com/index

As I mentioned before any questions just ask. :)
