Regardless of what you believe, I was so moved by this part of the candlelight processional at epcot last week.

Here is a man who was born in an obscure village, the child of a peasant woman. He grew up in another village. He worked in a carpenter shop until He was thirty. Then for three years He was an itinerant preacher.

He never owned a home. He never wrote a book. He never held an office. He never had a family. He never went to college. He never put His foot inside a big city. He never traveled two hundred miles from the place He was born. He never did one of the things that usually accompany greatness. He had no credentials but Himself...

While still a young man, the tide of popular opinion turned against him. His friends ran away. One of them denied Him. He was turned over to His enemies. He went through the mockery of a trial. He was nailed upon a cross between two thieves. While He was dying His executioners gambled for the only piece of property He had on earth – His coat. When He was dead, He was laid in a borrowed grave through the pity of a friend.

Nineteen long centuries have come and gone, and today He is a centerpiece of the human race and leader of the column of progress.

I am far within the mark when I say that all the armies that ever marched, all the navies that were ever built; all the parliaments that ever sat and all the kings that ever reigned, put together, have not affected the life of man upon this earth as powerfully as has that one solitary life.

Must be getting terribly sentimental in my old age... I teared up here at work from reading that.

Someday I'd love to see the CP in person.

If somebody is one of the people who believe Jesus lived, but was not a God, they could still feel good with that passage.

And it sounds nice when peole with great voices recite it, including Mrs. Rashad. :flower:

Didn't know there was a CP cd. Where can I get one? Would love to hear it and have one.

Sold right outside, and in most Disney giftshops. Philicia Rashad is the reader

MTE!!

And Lou Diamond Phillips narrated when we saw it. He did a wonderful job. loved that he ended with 'God Bless America and God bless the WORLD!' :sunny:

I wonder if there is anyone there who would pick one up for me? Needless to say if they are at WDW now they wouldn't see this post. I'll look into Ebay.

Wow, what does it normally go for? I checked out Ebay and both sellers are asking $24 to $25 + shipping. It will come to be close to $30. Are they asking way more than it goes for?

An even $20 with tax

Oh ok thanks. I know that is what Ebay is all about to make money. So I guess that isn't all that unreasonable.

I was thinking about that same thought recently. How could someone so earthly poor and born in such a humble way go on to change lives in such dramatic and drastic ways even today. What a plan God has!
Thanks for sharing. I have never had the joy of seeing CP.

Budha
Ghandi
Walt Disney
...

We're hoping to do our first WDW Christmas in '07. Can't wait to see CP!

It is very moving. I believe you can get the CD from disney merchandising.

Saw it this weekend both with Harry Hamlin on Friday and Marlee Matlin on Monday. Both were great but personally I liked Marlee Matlin best.
