Hello ,can anyone please tell if about what time they start picking up at the resort? It would be our first time and we want to have a better idea about what time we will arrive at the port. As my husband wants to go back to the airport or use a private company. Thanks for any information.:o

All resorts are picked up at between 10:45 and 1:30 ish.....you will find out exactly what time at your hotel. Let them know you are sailing and they should have a letter for you (not sure if you get it at check in or the night before the cruise). It will advise what time to have your luggage ready in your room for pick up (usually around 8:00 am) and what time to meet for the bus. The trip to the port is a bit over an hour from the resort.

Editing as I had times incorrect.

We stayed at the Beach Club a few years ago. We got to port later than most, maybe around 2. Still plenty of time to enjoy the day... and you ride the Magic Express!

The resorts pick up window is between 10:45 and 1:30. You won't know until the day before what time your specific resort's pick up is.

This is because it can vary, depending on what resorts need to be picked up from and how many people from any given resort.

IMO, going back to the airport to catch the DCL transfers is a pain in the neck. It basically adds at least another hour on the travel time, and you have to wrangle your own bags from resort to airport to transfer bus.

We were just at POR in Dec. with a Dec. 2nd cruise. The bus picked us up at 12:00 made a stop, and then got to the port around 1:20.

Thank you all for your feedback! We will be waiting for the Magical Express to pick us up as it seems like too much work/time to go back to the airport. Appreciate your time.:o

Well, Magical Express is the free shuttle that runs from MCO to resorts. Transfers from resort to port is handled via DCL transfer buses (and cost $35 per person).

IMO, going back to the airport using Disney's ME and then taking transfers from the airport to the port is the way to go if you can handle your luggage a bit yourself. If using Disney's transfer from resort to port you still have to be up early with your bags ready for pick up, so you can't sleep in and you have to be fully packed and ready to go. Then, you're just killing time at the resort waiting for the bus when you really want to be at the port at that point in your trip! Whether I'm on a 3 day or 14 day cruise, I want to be on the ship as early as possible! The time spent on buses is about the same because it's about 65 miles from Pop Century to the Port, and it's 67 miles when adding a stop at Orlando airport. It may be even longer bus time if going from resort to Port because you might stop at other resorts, thus increasing the travel time.
