That is terrible about the car. Glad to hear that everyone is ok. I hope that the police have a word or two with the jeep owner.
Hey MeMom, haven't been around here the past couple of weeks but just saw on FB about Drew and your car - very glad he and his passenger are both okay, but very sorry you are going through such an unpleasant ordeal right now.
I sent some hugs to you over on Facebook but I'll send some more here too. Years ago John and I were in a car accident that totaled my car. Not only was it very scary but very frustrating because I had just finished paying it off before we got married. We had just bought our first house and couldn't afford a new car. Luckily we were able to find something we could afford so I am hoping the same for you!
On a happy note, I was able to find some Mickey dishes at a bigger Target today. I almost missed them because they had them on an endcap over by the coffee makers and other small appliances. I thought that was a weird spot!
Oh dear, so sorry to hear about the car. I hope you can get everything handled easily and quickly.
So glad no one was hurt, but I know it hurts when your child gets in any accident. I also knows how the wallet hurts just when you think you are free of an obligation and something just puts that obligation back on your "to do" list.
Really enjoyed your Nemo pictures. I loved that show, it was so neat to see how they worked the character puppets.
So sorry to hear about your car. I would be crying too if I was 2 payments away from no car payments. Glad Drew is ok!
I think I must be on Santa's bad list this year.
I really enjoyed your AK updates. Such sweet pictures with Jiminy Cricket. Can't go to Conservation Station without seeing the goats. As I have said Nemo is really growing on me and I like it more everytime I see it.
So sorry about Drew's accident. I work for an insurance company so I see this frustration everyday. I hope it gets taken care of in a speedy manner and you're able to find new transportation.
Oh MeMom!! Sending lots of pixie dust, warm thoughts, and prayers your way!!!! I'm so glad no one was hurt!!!! I hope the insurance company will help expedite your claim and you can move on from this!!!!! Thinking of you during this time!
I sent you some good thoughts on FB, but thought I'd come here and give you some more. I am SO glad Drew and his passenger weren't hurt. Reading about the accident gave me the chills so I can't imagine what both of you are going through. I am sure it will all work out.

I know I said this on FB but figured I should come here, too. I am so sorry to hear about the accident. Cars can be replaced but people can not. Everybody is o.k. and that is the important thing. God has a plan and he will direct you there. Everything will be o.k. I know the insurance is a pain but maybe you can look at Disney pictures while you get everything settled. You have good friends and people that care for you that will help you while everything gets settled out.
Not a chance!!! You have to be on Santa's nice list.![]()
Memom, I'm sorry to hear about the accident and your car!!!! I'm glad Drew is OK! I hope someone saw the accident and calls the police to report what they saw. I read about it on FB and I'm going back to read the details on here. I hope everything turns out OK!

Yesterday, he refused to go to Art, so I just took him back to the room with me and didn't try to fight him on it. I told him he had to draw a picture, and I gave him a new box of crayons to do it with. What he brought back looked like something a 2-3 year old would draw. I had no idea what it was, so I pulled out my standard, 'Tell me about your nice picture'.Come to find out, it was a turkey. I asked him if he wanted to give it to our assistant principal, since he spends a lot of time with her.
He said yes, and I helped him spell her name. I wrote a note on it telling her what it was, because there was no way to know. He took it and put it on her desk and came back to the room. We spent the rest of the hour reading and playing a Math game. He beat me, gosh darn it!
He was the best Race to 100 player in the room!
After that, the rest of his day was better. I walked him out to his car in the afternoon, and his dad dreaded seeing me, of course, knowing it was not good. I was happy to start his weekend off on a good note by telling him what a good day we had had.
I know it will. It's just the initial going through all the hassles. I've got to get a ride to school and then after school to the rental place, meet the insurance guy, figure out what to do about a car, transfer tags or get new ones or however that goes, etc. Just lots of stuff I could do without right now - or any time for that matter.![]()
I am so sorry Memom. I can't believe someone would be that ignorant.. and then to just leave them there without checking on them. They had to have known what they did was wrong. I could understand how you could lack faith tonight.. but perhaps the faith you are really lacking is more with mankind... Just something to think about. I will be praying for you. Please, get it all out here. We are all here to listen.
I am sure he will remember that special time for years.
One thing at a time. And remember to breathe.![]()
Set aside 1 cup of a yellow cake mix. Add the rest of the mix, 1/2 cup butter, and 1 egg. Press that into the bottom of a greased 13 x 9 pan.
Mix a 29 oz. can of pumpkin, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup milk, and 2 eggs. (I added a teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice as well.) Spread that over the top of the cake layer.
Mix the 1 cup reserved cake mix, 1/2 cup sugar, and 4 tablespoons butter until crumbly and spread on top. Bake for 40 minutes at 350 degrees.
Chelsea and I made it yesterday, and it is so good. My kids have been eating it like there is no tomorrow.
