There was no diaper surprise this time.
Old Key West is pretty! I'd like to stay there someday. When I stayed at POFQ, OKW was the first stop and it was just beautiful. I haven't heard too much about the transportation there though. I'm hoping on Marc & I's next trip I can convince him to drive to Disney. I just want to try something different instead of flying all the time.
If you drive through our area, let us, know. By that time, the hippo should be up and grunting for meets again!
I'll let you have the driving. I used to prefer driving, but not anymore. It's so much easier on me physically, and it's easier for the girls to fly.
We could so a Feeble/Slow walk Dis meet.
I am sure Music was not so calm this trip. I believe many of our South American friends were staying there. During my travels I was in line with a couple of different families that heard they were having issues at the hotel.
I stayed at Music for 1 night during our NYE trip. That night it was calm. I know my friend wanted to go back to get a picture with Ariel but it just didn't happen. Next time
I also agree with the fan issue. My DH always uses the fan but while I agree you need it during the summer heat I just don't want the noise. Also the odd hours I sometimes shower I don't want to subject the surrounding rooms to the extra noise.
Our trips to Music have been good. We did see a lot of 'the groups' this time, so had we been staying near any of them at our resort, we might have had a less relaxing time. We only had one bus ride back to Pop where a group made everyone want to run screaming off the bus.
I like the leave the bathroom door open and just have the door barely cracked so that I can find my way in the middle of the night, but I can't do that with the running fan switches.
If you form that slow walker club, let me know.
That video gets quite a few hits! We meant to do again for the 2 bed at Kidani, but never did. We will for the Studio at the Boardwalk in September though!
You could request "top floor Congress Park" and get something similar - or perhaps something like "room number 1301 or close to" - that might work! When we had Bell Services deliver our bags, we opened the door and the Bell Man said, "1301, you guys got it! Congratulations!" he remembered us from when we switched from the 1 Bedroom and was excited for us - he knew that view!
You guys planning an SSR stay in the upcoming months? CP is nice because it's close to DTD, but very far from the main area, so those things are a distance. CP does have a quiet pool and a playground though, that was VERY nice.
You missed it in all of your moving and being away from the DIS. We were booked at Pop for October, but
Wigd and
Shocker offered to sell us some leftover DVC points for cheap. We are very excited to be staying at SSR! We appreciate their kindness so very much. And they are letting me pay them in installments.
I'll admit it, I use bacon grease. Have a jar of it in the fridge right now. Grandma used it and lived to be a healthy 99!
I just think it makes everything taste better.
Marc used a Dr Scholl's "foot mapping" machine at
Walmart yesterday. Check online for a $10 rebate to purchase the $49.99 orthotics!
(I sound like an advertisement)
I'll chime in on the DIS meets, we had some great ones too! Although if you've already met the folks are they really DIS meets or just hang outs?
OKW has just the best feeling of "laid back" to it....
It reminded me of our vacations as a kid when we went to the Ozarks but without the "Ozarkiness"... Just such a relaxed feeling around the Hospitality House.
We do need to go back there sometime but with a rental car.
So cool that Brooklynn got to do a craft!
Loved your group shot! Good job MeMom!!
My grandmother kept a can of grease all the time. She was in the high 90's when she died, too.
I might step on the Dr. Scholl's thing sometime, too. I hope it doesn't break or run away laughing!
I love the atmosphere at Old Key West, but I have not stayed there - only visited. I have not stayed at any of the resorts where I had to walk a long way to the main building yet.
What a great Dis Meet! The girls looked like they really enjoyed there time at OKW. My little ones use to hide in small spaces too and come out with a little something extra in their diaper. Brooklyn really did rack up on goodies. Every child loves those little extras. Sorry Jill had a headache. I find rain, a change in pressure will give me a headache.
Ready for the Mk and another meet.
Jill had a really bad headache and was just very tired after the trip. She really did want to go to the DIS meet, and she was so sad afterward that she missed it.
agreed
Great updates and pics.
The meet looked very nice. I have stayed at OKW once and it was nice. Room was HUGE.
I loved the OKW mug, I will look for it in October.
I hope we will get to stay there someday, but for now we love visiting.
Drinking coffee or hot chocolate out of an Old Key West mug in the middle of a cold NY winter should bring you a little Disney happiness.
Just catching the second half of that post, and it looks like your DIS meet was fun! I really did like OKW, such a nice feel to it! I like those pins you took pics of! Very cute! Can't wait to see what the MK is like for you -- Griffin and I went alone once, and I went with both boys alone one night too. It was a little tough with the both of them, thank goodness for the stroller!, but on foot with Griffin was easy!
Magic Kingdom was a little wet, as you shall soon see.
I loved the one on one time I got with Brooklynn and Bella this time. A few times, Brook and I would go do some things alone, and a few times Jill, John, and Brook would go do big things and I would hang out with Bella. I love being with them separate or together, of course.
**************************************
Brooklynn and I were the only passengers on the bus to Magic Kingdom. She took the opportunity to catch a few zzzzz's.
She woke up right away upon arrival at MK.
The park was a little damp.
We were texting back and forth that we would meet on the porch of Tony's.
They showed up within just a few minutes. What a great family! The oldest just started talking right away - so relaxed and comfortable with a stranger. She was absolutely precious! The littlest is a doll, too, but she was very shy and reserved that evening.
Here, unfortunately, is yet another picture with me in it. I don't plan to make this too much of a habit. I think there is one more picture at Club Cool, but that should be it.
Thank you so much,
*dreamit*doit*, for a wonderful time with your family!
I had told Brooklynn we could do one ride, but then we would have to get back to Pop, because Trent was coming!
She chose to ride a ride that we had been on many times before....yet never.
Which ride is that?
We walked past wet Walt and wet Mickey.
So here's the 'new' ride.
From the Carrousel.
A happy little wet girl.
We were right behind the famous horse.
The horses are so cool, aren't they?
Back past our friends.
Back at Pop, a decorated window.
And look who showed up a little bit later!
That is it for now. I have to go fill every inch of my car full of BBQ, hot dogs, buns, drinks, cookies, baked beans, and chips, and get up to camp. Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday afternoon.
