I need a little Disney in my day. I got word this evening that my grandfather passed. We were expecting it for a few days now. I'm just happy that I'm here and don't have to scramble to get here.
I can only be on here for a few minutes, but I wanted to say that I am thinking of you and your family as you go through this loss. I know you will cherish many happy memories of your grandfather.

Just checking in to say
Ouch!
Ooooh!
and
Eeeek!
My legs are taking a pounding this week, but I still enjoy camp so much. The lady that came up to help tonight comes up to help every year for the Tuesday night meal. She's a school cafeteria worker, so cooking large quantities of food doesn't scare her. She always brings a special chocolate dessert for the staff. It has brownies and pudding and Cool Whip, and it is so good!
Tonight also, the director's parents came up to eat dinner with us. His mom is in the early stages of dementia or something kin to that. I sat at the table with them, and she asked me the same question several times, and I answered her every time as if it were the first. She's so sweet, as is her husband. I know it is so hard on her kids and her husband to see her 'slipping away' from them. They both ate a good dinner and then fixed plates to take with them, so he won't have to cook anything for them tomorrow night either. We invited them back for spaghetti dinner Friday night.
I love watching the kids in action. From the kitchen, I can see them as they do crafts, and it is interesting to watch them at work. Some do crafts diligently, and others slap something together and run off to play dodgeball.
It's also fun to watch them at canteen time.
So many chocolate choices.
So many sour choices.
So many salty choices.
So many drink choices.
It's fun to watch them look over it all and make their decisions.
This is a very tiring week, but a very rewarding one.
I had to go to Sam's today to pick up some things, and when I was returning to the camp, I crossed paths with a raccoon. He was very busy digging up something out of the ground. I stopped and watched him for several minutes. He never acknowleged my existence, but I am glad I was able to stop and acknowledge his. Just one of God's creatures out doing what he does. As I go about my life with my stresses and worries, God is providing for all of His creatures, and they trust Him to do that. I can learn a lesson from that.
Okay, gotta run. From chocolate chip pancakes and bacon to a baked potato bar to chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, and banana pudding - I smell like today's menu. Time for a shower and bed!
