I hope you got some much needed rest this morning!

You are so kind to volunteer your time to the campers.
I'm sure they apreciate all of the great food you have provided for them.

Cute pic of Trent and Bella, it really is a shame he doesn't get to see them more often.

I can't believe the WalMart was that CRAZY BUSY at 11pm.....

I got teary eyed when I saw the pic of GF. It hit me in that moment that I will be there very soon and be able to soak it all in! It looks huge!

I can't wait to have dinner at 1900 Park Fare. :) I hope there isn't too much drama with the 'steps" :rotfl:.

We only have two breakfasts this trip. Cape May and Donald's Safari at Tusker House. I can't wait for all you can eat pastries and bacon!

I was able to order one of those Character Encyclopedias for Lexi at our local book store. She loves it! Thanks BrooklynnsMommy for introducing us to such a great find! :thumbsup2

It makes me very happy to hear you talk about the details of your trip. I know it has been a long time coming! Cape May was so good for us!

I wish Trent lived closer, and maybe he will again someday, but for now he seems to be happy in Florida, so he needs to do what he wants to do for himself. We'll just have to work at getting the travel issues all settled. It's less than two hours by plane, so we can do it. It just costs a lot of money. ;)

Looks like Trent was very happy to see his little rats again. I know I say this all the time, but Trent is going to be an amazing daddy one day.:goodvibes
Sounds like a super busy week! Take it easy this weekend.

He will be a great dad. I hope he finds the right girl to settle down with and do just that.

I have to cook spaghetti for about 150 people tonight, and then we have to clean the kitchen spotless, because this is the last camp session. I will crawl into bed tonight, and I plan to stay there much of tomorrow. My left calf hurts from favoring my hurting foot. I told Jill my pain issues went down my right side from top to bottom, and now they are going up my left side from bottom to top. That makes my left hip next in line for some trouble!

By the time you read this hopefully camp will be over and you can rest the weekend. Here are some :hug: for the wonderful job you did all week.
Do what you can to rest those weary limbs.

1900 Park Fare was nice, but not great. I am glad we did it just to say we did, but I don't feel a strong need to do it again.

That's how we felt too. We liked it, but we don't need to do it again. Maybe at some point but not on the next few trips.

I love the pictures of Trent and the girls! I wasn't there when Jeremy saw Kazin or when Josh saw Caleb for the first time last weekend, but I'm sure they had a similar expression on their faces :) I'm 99% sure that we're having a cookout tomorrow :goodvibes I also found out yesterday that it looks like both Josh and Jeremy will be able to join us on our annual trip to Vermont. We rent two cabins up there every summer. There are 18 cabins in that same area and they're all right across the street from a lake and we go swimming every day. We only have one extra bedroom so Josh and Kazin are gonna come for a few days and Jeremy and Caleb(and hopefully Leslie) will come for different days. But they want to overlap one or two days and sleep on an air mattress so the babies can play together :)

Memom what you have done this week is something I do not think I would even consider doing :lmao: WOW!

I am happy to report that tropical storm Bonnie has passed through with actually very little impact. I hope any and all of you in the gulf states have the same happy report this weekend!!

Ooh ooh just saw my ticker. Less than 2 weeks!!

Finally caught up!!

Hope you get LOTS of rest this weekend, MeMom!

I went back to the room and told Jill how nice you guys were. She really hated that she missed that meet, but we will cross paths again. Listening to your articulate, sweet, big girl was a highlight of the trip for me. What a great kid she is to be able to talk to a complete stranger like that!

Well, I don't know that I would say a "complete" stranger. Miren enjoys reading along with me and seeing your pics; she was really looking forward to meeting you guys and kept asking throughout the trip when we were meeting. She was VERY excited and could have talked your ear off all night. I totally understand about Jill, I was sorry she missed it too, but you guys really did have a rough start. Yes, we will cross paths again, I'm sure. :) And, we'll go on a ride or two - Miren REALLY wanted to hang out more with you guys and even after we went our separate ways she kept asking me to call you and see what ride you had gone to.

I agree that you probably have plantar fasciitis vs a bone spur on your heel. Usually if your pain is the worst after sitting or first thin in the morning, it is plantar fasciitis. I will tell you what I treat my patients with the first time it occurs. There is a three step approach. You need to take aleve or ibuprofen daily for around two weeks (1-2 aleeve or 600mg of ibuprofen 3x/daily), get a water bottle and freeze it. roll your foot on it for around 5-10minutes twice daily. This will help with inflammation and stretch the fascia out. last step is to get very good inserts in your shoes to help prevent further inflammation. If this does not work, physical therapy sometimes does wonders or as I suggested earlier, going to a podiatrist. I had horrible plantar fasciitis when I did my ICU rotation in residency so I feel your pain. So, there is my free medical consultation for the morning.

Oh boy, I suffer from this too! :sad2: When I get up in the morning (or the middle of the night), I hold onto all the surfaces on my way to the bathroom or my girls' room until I can walk on my own. It also happens if I'm sitting for awhile and get up suddenly. My cousin, who also suffers from this, went to a podiatrist and was told the exact same thing; I do the frozen water bottle sometimes, but not as often as I should (it does help, though.)

I wanted to add that I wanted to try the Teva Mush flip flops that everyone raves about, but when I tried them on in the store my feet were too wide. I didn't like the way they looked because my feet seemed to be hanging off the sides.

Anyway, I am wondering if anyone here wears Merrills? I tried a pair on at Dillard's today. They were just a little too small for me, and they didn't have the next size up. However, they seemed very comfortable, and they had a lot of arch support which is wonderful in a sandal. I am thinking about ordering the bigger size online, but I am hesitant because they are so darn expensive. ($75!!)

Okay, the only thing that gives me INSTANT relief is wearing my FitFlops.

http://www.fitflop.com/products/

Yes, they are pricey, but I can't say enough about them. I have a pair in black and then I have these that I purchased at the World in March.

March2010331.jpg

They are not the prettiest things, but these with the Mickey heads are way cuter than my plain black ones. ;) And, I just saw on the website that they now have non-through-the-toes ones, since MeMom mentioned she doesn't like that.

I have a wide foot too, and these fit perfectly! If I keep them by my bed and put them on when I first step off the bed, then I can walk normally as soon as I get up. I wear them mostly all day everyday, but on some days, if I have to wear other shoes for fashion's sake, I will change into them as soon as I get home so I can get some relief. I will say though, they come with a warning to not wear them for a long time from the beginning, and they are right. You really do feel it in your leg muscles when you first start wearing them so you have to ease into them, but after about a week, I was wearing them ALL day. I sound like an advertisement. But I feel everyone's pain, and it's not a good feeling. Hope this helps!

They showed up within just a few minutes. What a great family! The oldest just started talking right away - so relaxed and comfortable with a stranger. She was absolutely precious! The littlest is a doll, too, but she was very shy and reserved that evening.

Here, unfortunately, is yet another picture with me in it. I don't plan to make this too much of a habit. I think there is one more picture at Club Cool, but that should be it. ;)

Summer2010PoptotheTop144.jpg

Thank you so much, *dreamit*doit*, for a wonderful time with your family!

I had told Brooklynn we could do one ride, but then we would have to get back to Pop, because Trent was coming! :cool1:

And look who showed up a little bit later!

Summer2010PoptotheTop156.jpg

MeMom!! I totally agree, you look great in this picture!! You really do! If you remember, I even offered to hide you but told you that there was no reason for you to do so. Now, I, on the other hand!!! :scared1: I think I should have left the raincoat on for the picture! :rotfl:

Nerea was being shy and not too reserved (screaming for her daddy, if you remember) and we figured out why when we got home, she had a temperature of 100.5. It was in the 99's the next day and then didn't develop into anything that we could see but she was cranky for the next few days. It could have just been the trip taking a toll on her by that point.

I know you were anxious to get going to see Trent, but I really appreciate you coming out to MK, in that downpour no less. We had a wonderful time with you and Brooklynn, too and can't wait to do it again and meet the rest of the MeMom gang. :goodvibes

I wouldn't mind having a car, as long as it also came with a driver. :thumbsup2 If I were driving, we'd end up in the real Key West, because I'm really good at getting lost!

I love all of those pin pictures !!! Old Key West looks really nice, we never been there. Oh MeMon if you ever drive around Disney and end up in the real Key West you can come and visit us here in Miami. It will be really nice to have a Dismeet down here.

I was going to write the same thing! I just noticed you are in Miami, too!

Memom what you have done this week is something I do not think I would even consider doing :lmao: WOW!

I am happy to report that tropical storm Bonnie has passed through with actually very little impact. I hope any and all of you in the gulf states have the same happy report this weekend!!

And another Miamian!! Yup, Bonnie was a non-event, and I, too, hope it stays that way for anyone in her path.

Sorry, this was soooooo long, but I had a LOT of catching up to do. I'll try to keep up from now on. :flower3:

I got flip flops too! I love them! I have two pair wear them all them time -- I bought a pair for my mom for Mother's day... WigD has them too... Really comfortable, I like the way they look, even if they are kinda boxy, still , wore them almost every day this summer in Disney!

By the time you read this hopefully camp will be over and you can rest the weekend. Here are some :hug: for the wonderful job you did all week.
Do what you can to rest those weary limbs.

I came in with a load of leftovers. Drew helped me get it in the house and put the cold stuff up. The rest will be sitting in boxes until tomorrow. ::yes::

I am so glad you had that. Too sweet!
Maybe since Jill has the weekend free, she can put up the video of Purple Dog being born.

That's how we felt too. We liked it, but we don't need to do it again. Maybe at some point but not on the next few trips.

Ooh ooh just saw my ticker. Less than 2 weeks!!

In two weeks, I am sad to say that I will be back in school. I will rely on you to bring some happiness to my days. :)

I'm glad you guys were not hurt by the storm.

Finally caught up!!

Hope you get LOTS of rest this weekend, MeMom!

We went to ride the Carrousel, since it was close and quick. Sorry to hear Nerea was sick.

Thanks for the shoe tip. Since they have some without the toe thing, i might have to look into those seriously. I know exactly what you mean about holding on to the furniture. It's crazy, isn't it? Yesterday, I realized I had left my towel behind as I headed to the shower, and I stood there thinking about whether or not I could retrace those seven agonizing steps or just do without the darn towel!

Maybe you guys can work out a DIS meet! We have had four sets of DISers who have become 'real' friends through meets.

I got flip flops too! I love them! I have two pair wear them all them time -- I bought a pair for my mom for Mother's day... WigD has them too... Really comfortable, I like the way they look, even if they are kinda boxy, still , wore them almost every day this summer in Disney!

I won't care a thing about looks if they feel good when I walk. :)
Thanks for the second on the flip flops.

Brooklynn's purple hot dog made me laugh. It sounds just like something Johanna would say or do. :rotfl:

Jo is on a big Tarzan kick right now. She has been watching the movie and singing the songs over and over for a couple of weeks. Today she was riding a carousel and I saw her leaning back and holding one hand out sort of behind her. I asked what she was doing and she said she was riding the horse like Jane rides the vine when she swings with Tarzan.

I got her a really cute Alice in Wonderland shirt at the Disney store today. I am not sure I'll get to post a picture because my laptop died and I am using my husband's to DIS for a little while tonight. I don't think the digital camera software is on this computer. Hopefully you'll get to see it if I write a trip report or when I post pictures on Facebook.

Hope you are feeling better soon memom!!! :goodvibes

You do know I lurk :cool2: ...and comment seldom and love :lovestruc your trip report and pics and family..... right?

I have a pair of fit flops I love too! Just had them this summer and wear them with everything! Plan to wear them at wdw too so glad to hear that others have done the same and been comfortable.
Mum says they take some stress out of her arthritic knees. And did you know they're supposed to firm up your legs and bottom too?!
Off to see if I can find mickey ones now, couldn't see the previous pic. These dis boards sure are a good way to find things out, but sometimes it's costly!

I hope you have a relaxing weekend after your crazy week, MeMom! I'll hopefully be back much later to post a pic because Charles and I are heading to Cooperstown, NY to meet up with Katie and Patrick! Hope you have a great day and get to relax :goodvibes

Brooklynn is like that, too - watching one movie over and over and over until she can pretty much recite the entire thing!

I hope you say a prayer of appreciation every time you go into your Disney Store! ;)

I actually tried to load it the other day and it wouldn't cooperate. I'll try tomorrow.

We might try some other photo sites, too, in the future. Photobucket is very nice, but I can't see those pictures at school. Some people use Flikr and other things, and I can see theirs.

Hope you are feeling better soon memom!!! :goodvibes

You do know I lurk :cool2: ...and comment seldom and love :lovestruc your trip report and pics and family..... right?

Just as long as you say Hey every once in a while to let us know you're still there... :goodvibes

Have a peaceful and restful weekend, after your action packed week.:goodvibes

I plan to do a lot of sitting and a little cleaning today. I kept up with my laundry throughout the week, so that is one good things I don't have to do. :thumbsup2

Until I had my knee surgery, I was not aware that you could actually scrape arthritis away. My doctor said he scraped some away, and that surprised me.

I will be looking in to the fit flops. :thumbsup2

As always, it makes me so happy to know that this sweet friendship formed right here at 'our place'. :woohoo: I hope you guys have a wonderful weekend!

Our greeter.

The first character that we saw flew by, only waving. It was so quick that I didn't have time to get the camera ready, so this is what I got.

Summer2010PoptotheTop180.jpg

We were hoping that we hadn't paid a bunch of money for a 'fly-by' character meal.

The view from where we sat.

Mickey waffles and fruit - all she needs to be a happy girl at breakfast time.

This was a good meal, but not a great one. I am glad we did it, because we want to experience all of the restaurants and meals at least once. It was a perfect place to have the special big girl time with Brooklynn. It was fine, just nothing extraordinary.

If you are going to go to Park Fare, after they give you your ticket/take your picture go stand right in front of the entrance door. We were not told to stand in a line, so we assumed they would call us, as they do at most places. After a few minutes, we realized they were just taking whoever was waiting next at the door. We weren't in any huge hurry, so it didn't really matter to us on this day, but just so you know - go straight in front of the door and the greeters will take whoever is standing there next when they come out. At least that is the way it worked for us on that morning.

Great pictures from 1900 Park Fare. It's so pretty in there.
Brooklynn looks so happy with all of the characters! :goodvibes :wizard:

Great pictures from 1900 Park Fare. Brooklynn looks like she is having a great time!

I'm going to check out the Fit Flops...I need new flip flops and something with support sounds :cloud9:

Glad you had fun at camp, but I'm sure you are exhausted! Hope you can get some rest this weekend!

We went upstairs to browse the gift shop.

I thought about buying this one in honor of my very first Disney World trip many years ago.

There were ticket books then, and you had to choose which rides you would use them for.

A DIS friend was looking for a soft doll that she had sent a picture of. We could not find one like it, but took a picture of this soft doll that we did see.
