What a great end and a great beginning. Can't wait to hear all about Park Fare. I have a dinner ADR in Sept. I am looking to possibly embarrass my teenage son.
We'll have to dinner there, too, to see 'the Steps'. We'll look forward to the pictures of the embarrassing pictures. We like things like that....when it's not us.
I am feeling good, just a little tired and the feet are very swollen!
But, thats my own fault for not staying off of them.
I bet the Akershus one is really good! There are so many I want to try to just say we did it but we never stay long enough. We would be eating more than anything!!
LOL!!!! They were such a good price and I knew I would want one for Hollie and Hannah. Then I got one for my neice. Then I thought, hmmm, I need to keep one for Hollie to read through and one to just have just in case!
I am the same way - I know my legs and feet would be better if I stayed off them more, but who can do that. Life goes on, and we can't stay in bed with our feet propped up while it goes on!
We try to do a couple of new places on each summer trip, so we're chipping away at the list of Disney restaurants slowly but surely. We still have many more to go, though.
OOOOOOO! MeMom I see you have updates! I am excited to read them, but I can barely keep my eyes open!!! I will read tomorrow!!!!
I'm with you on the exhaustion. I slept until 4:48! I rarely sleep until 4 anything, and certainly not until almost 5!
I am glad that you are enjoying camp. I cannot imagine all the cooking you are doing. I am teaching VBS this week and am beat by noon. I think getting my three kids there (literally my back yard) and then running around with my gonna be second graders and teaching is wearing me out. It is so nice though to be spiritual with kids, I miss that at school!
Love the pics.. you can see Trent misses his girls...so Park Fare was not all that... interesting. I am really thinking dinner might be on our list next trip. The problem is my list is longer than the days we will be there! Do you have summer dates yet?
It is tiring. I am so glad I arranged to have breakfast off. I did leave pre-made French toast sticks, too. I forgot about those. The counselors can just put those in the oven and heat them up, and at least they'll have one hot item, even if they don't have eggs and a meat. I needed this morning to rest, organize, and get ready to finish out camp.
As for Park Fare, I would recommend doing it if you haven't done it, just because I like everyone to judge for themselves, but it's not the same kind of recommendation I would give someone on, say Crystal Palace or Chef Mickey's or Cape May.
Jill and I talked briefly about summer. It just seems like the Fourth of July area is the safest time for us. If we run a summer school, which I need to work, then it is over at the end of June. If I have to do workshops, they are in mid to late July, as are our camps. Nobody schedules things around the week of the 4th, so that seems to work best. I don't want to go right after school is out, because then I have nothing to look forward to. If I know camp dates and workshop dates and felt safe doing it, I would wait until the end of the summer and go right before school starts back, ideally. But, our school likes to fluctuate starting dates, so we'll see. Guessing a year ahead of time, I would say Fourth of July week or the very, very end of July and first few days of August.
ooooohhh I have only done the Crystal Palace Breakfast. Great variety and great characters. Getting in at 8:05 and if you can eat pretty quickly and get characters to come around quickly you will still make rope drop at the castle.
We want to do an early breakfast there sometime.
There's that book again!! I went hunting for it for the boys a few weeks ago and could not find it at a decent price anywhere. Most places seem to be sold out of it now or are changing $35 a book. I think we are figuring something else out for autographs this time!
I just photos of Trent and his rats together! You can tell how much they all love each other.

at Brooklynn's dog -- I've never seen a purple bumpy hot dog before either. If I had, I am pretty sure I'd no longer be hungry!
I love looking at photos of GF. It's one of those hotels that doesn't seem homey to me, but I love pretending that I belong there!
That was an interesting little puppy, for sure!

I was so glad I lucked up on that picture. I love the facial expressions in it.
I like to visit GF. It is pretty on so many levels. I'd like to stay there for a night or two, just to say we did, but it's not cozy/homey to me, either.
It sure is, thanks to you!!
DIS friends always 'at the ready' to help.

I think you guys have Jill getting ready to order more.
those floor pictures are great! i've never even noticed the floor at the GF. another thing i will have to look at next time! and another reason i love disney....always discovering new things.
they could send those day-old flowers my way and i'd appreciate them!
I hope they send them to nursing homes or hospitals or other places that would really appreciate them. Surely they do not just toss them out every single day. That would just be wasteful!
I personally think spending the money to change them every day is wasteful. They are sure beautiful!
I don't think your Camp Kids will mind that cold breakfast one bit, sounds delicious!
Isn't the floor at the GF amazing? I took a zillion pics of it too, and none just could do it justice.
I wonder if the lovely CMs get to take home the day old flowers. I surely hope someone does!
We will hope Disney World flowers brighten many places after they leave Grand Floridian. I wonder if they change flowers daily in other resorts.
I'm guessing most of our camp kids don't have a hot breakfast every day, so donuts and cereal and fruit and French toast sticks will not affect them. I'm going to finish them up with another full buffet tomorrow. I like them to go home saying they ate well!
