I don't think your Camp Kids will mind that cold breakfast one bit, sounds delicious!

Isn't the floor at the GF amazing? I took a zillion pics of it too, and none just could do it justice.

I wonder if the lovely CMs get to take home the day old flowers. I surely hope someone does!

What a great end and a great beginning. Can't wait to hear all about Park Fare. I have a dinner ADR in Sept. I am looking to possibly embarrass my teenage son.

We'll have to dinner there, too, to see 'the Steps'. We'll look forward to the pictures of the embarrassing pictures. We like things like that....when it's not us.

I am feeling good, just a little tired and the feet are very swollen!
But, thats my own fault for not staying off of them.

I bet the Akershus one is really good! There are so many I want to try to just say we did it but we never stay long enough. We would be eating more than anything!!

LOL!!!! They were such a good price and I knew I would want one for Hollie and Hannah. Then I got one for my neice. Then I thought, hmmm, I need to keep one for Hollie to read through and one to just have just in case!

I am the same way - I know my legs and feet would be better if I stayed off them more, but who can do that. Life goes on, and we can't stay in bed with our feet propped up while it goes on!

We try to do a couple of new places on each summer trip, so we're chipping away at the list of Disney restaurants slowly but surely. We still have many more to go, though.

OOOOOOO! MeMom I see you have updates! I am excited to read them, but I can barely keep my eyes open!!! I will read tomorrow!!!! :goodvibes

I'm with you on the exhaustion. I slept until 4:48! I rarely sleep until 4 anything, and certainly not until almost 5!

I am glad that you are enjoying camp. I cannot imagine all the cooking you are doing. I am teaching VBS this week and am beat by noon. I think getting my three kids there (literally my back yard) and then running around with my gonna be second graders and teaching is wearing me out. It is so nice though to be spiritual with kids, I miss that at school!

Love the pics.. you can see Trent misses his girls...so Park Fare was not all that... interesting. I am really thinking dinner might be on our list next trip. The problem is my list is longer than the days we will be there! Do you have summer dates yet?

It is tiring. I am so glad I arranged to have breakfast off. I did leave pre-made French toast sticks, too. I forgot about those. The counselors can just put those in the oven and heat them up, and at least they'll have one hot item, even if they don't have eggs and a meat. I needed this morning to rest, organize, and get ready to finish out camp.

As for Park Fare, I would recommend doing it if you haven't done it, just because I like everyone to judge for themselves, but it's not the same kind of recommendation I would give someone on, say Crystal Palace or Chef Mickey's or Cape May.

Jill and I talked briefly about summer. It just seems like the Fourth of July area is the safest time for us. If we run a summer school, which I need to work, then it is over at the end of June. If I have to do workshops, they are in mid to late July, as are our camps. Nobody schedules things around the week of the 4th, so that seems to work best. I don't want to go right after school is out, because then I have nothing to look forward to. If I know camp dates and workshop dates and felt safe doing it, I would wait until the end of the summer and go right before school starts back, ideally. But, our school likes to fluctuate starting dates, so we'll see. Guessing a year ahead of time, I would say Fourth of July week or the very, very end of July and first few days of August.

ooooohhh I have only done the Crystal Palace Breakfast. Great variety and great characters. Getting in at 8:05 and if you can eat pretty quickly and get characters to come around quickly you will still make rope drop at the castle.

We want to do an early breakfast there sometime. :thumbsup2

There's that book again!! I went hunting for it for the boys a few weeks ago and could not find it at a decent price anywhere. Most places seem to be sold out of it now or are changing $35 a book. I think we are figuring something else out for autographs this time!

I just photos of Trent and his rats together! You can tell how much they all love each other. :lmao: at Brooklynn's dog -- I've never seen a purple bumpy hot dog before either. If I had, I am pretty sure I'd no longer be hungry!

I love looking at photos of GF. It's one of those hotels that doesn't seem homey to me, but I love pretending that I belong there!

That was an interesting little puppy, for sure! I was so glad I lucked up on that picture. I love the facial expressions in it.

I like to visit GF. It is pretty on so many levels. I'd like to stay there for a night or two, just to say we did, but it's not cozy/homey to me, either.

It sure is, thanks to you!! :goodvibes

DIS friends always 'at the ready' to help. :goodvibes
I think you guys have Jill getting ready to order more.

those floor pictures are great! i've never even noticed the floor at the GF. another thing i will have to look at next time! and another reason i love disney....always discovering new things.

they could send those day-old flowers my way and i'd appreciate them!

I hope they send them to nursing homes or hospitals or other places that would really appreciate them. Surely they do not just toss them out every single day. That would just be wasteful! I personally think spending the money to change them every day is wasteful. They are sure beautiful!

We will hope Disney World flowers brighten many places after they leave Grand Floridian. I wonder if they change flowers daily in other resorts.

I'm guessing most of our camp kids don't have a hot breakfast every day, so donuts and cereal and fruit and French toast sticks will not affect them. I'm going to finish them up with another full buffet tomorrow. I like them to go home saying they ate well! :thumbsup2

Hi! And good morning! Well I am here trying to type and use my treadmill, so hopefully I wont fall off! :rotfl: I was at the GF once when they were removing the flowers -- they didn't seem day old, though?? BUT this was the big big display in the front, so maybe they keep those longer? Anyhow, they were giving the flowers to guests. I would think they could be sent to nursing homes, etc. but that might be hard for the receiving end to keep up with if they churn them out so fast! I received a rose from the one arrangement they were changing, others were taking many to put in their rooms I guess..

I love your floor pictures!! I got one too.. of Mrs. Potts! TOO cute! We spent time at the GF our last night waiting for fireworks after dinner. It was pretty at night since I had really only been during the day for brunch at 1900... I am curious to hear about your observations and then comparisons again, b/c I think you are right, it depends on what you are looking for in the experience. My guys actually really liked the "people" characters -- seems almost better than the others, like at Chef Mickey's (for them I mean). DH really liked the food! So I do want to hear your take. Looking forward to more, but enjoy your morning off! Relax :goodvibes

Oh! AND that purple dog story was too funny!!!

So nice that you have the morning off! Enjoy and get some rest. :goodvibes

I know you pretty much already gave your review of the meal at 1900, but I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures!

Great update!! I just love the GF! I liked 1900 PF too, but I really love CP breakfast. It is funny to see my name on Minnie's note:rotfl: We were heading to MK at that time. I think the Dis is a bad influence because I just ordered some books also.;) Try to get some rest this morning.

I am such a lurker and need to stop so I decided I would finally comment.

I love your reports and all the pics. Reading your trip report is totally getting me in the mood for my trip which is getting closer everyday! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Oh and the girls are adorableprincess:

Love the pictures of Trent and the girls. I also love the GF pictures. We've only been there 2 times and I have never paid attention to the floor. You have now given me more things to look for, the floor and flowers. We've never done the breakfast, but loved the dinner there. Those step sisters are a blast.

Great pictures of Trent and the girls! You can tell he just adores them!

Love the floor pictures, so neat!

I really hope they take the flowers to the nursing homes or hospitals. I know after a day most flowers still look great!

The floors at the GF are beautiful.
Wow changing flowers everyday must be pricy. But they are beautiful.

I love photos of Trent and his little rats. They are so cute :cutie:

GF is so nice. I'd probably want to stay for only a couple of days also if I ever had the chance. their prices would slaughter my bank account

I really need to get over to the Grand Floridian to check it out. It looks so beautiful in all of the pictures that I have seen. :cloud9:

Who would have know that a floor could be so pretty. :lmao:

:lmao::rotfl: at Brooklynn's hot dog. I have a picture of her and the hot dog when it was still a dog. Do you want me to post it?

I'm glad you got to get some rest, you deserve it. It sounds like your camp kids have been eating well.

I love the pictures of Trent and the girls, they look so excited to see one another.

Hey MeMom! I haven't had much time to post. Sarah is still hogging the computer. She is getting ready to take her RN boards Monday. Maybe I'll get my share of computer time then.
Anyway, just wanted to say love the updates. Can't wait to see and hear more. Also, my knee hurts just thinking about all you have been doing. I have done lots of yard work this summer to get out of the house and help to get this weight off.(45 pounds down) The difference is I can sit down and take a break when I need to. No way could I stand for very long in one place or walk very much without a break. I feel for you.
I might just have to order one of those books for Ty. It might help him recognize some of the characters when we get to Disney in October. He doesn't sit still long enough to watch any of the movies or cartoons and I'll do good to get him to look at this book but maybe when he is a little older he'll slow down.
It's a little over 2 months until our trip and the only thing we have bought is one of those water fans. Sam saw them at Wal-Mart and I told her get it now you'll be glad later. Our Wal-Mart (no Target) is very seasonal and they will have heaters out before long. So, when the fans are gone they are gone. School stuff is already out. Don't want to pay for a Disney fan.:)
Take it easy this weekend!

Hey Memom!!!

So glad to hear the camp week is going well!! Hope you enjoyed your morning off!! The food sounds fantastic and I would love to come and sample some of all the offerings LOL!!!

Another wonderful update!! The girls looked excited to see Trent and YAY for a big girl morning with Brooklynn!!! The pictures of the floor and flowers at GF look amazing!! GF is just a gorgeous resort!!

Can't wait to hear more!!

I remember that purple dog slightly differently.:goodvibes Too cute that she wanted it to be a hot dog!

Love the pictures with Trent!

I feel the same about GF-it's beautiful but just not our style. I always think it would be good if John and I ever went alone. Someday maybe! We canceled our PF breakfast this trip. We'll go next summer though just to give it a try. CP breakfast is one of my favorites-a definite to do!! The kids picked to do lunch there at Christmas...I was hoping for breakfast again but will take lunch!

Enjoy your last day at camp tomorrow!

I hope you got some much needed rest this morning!

You are so kind to volunteer your time to the campers.
I'm sure they apreciate all of the great food you have provided for them.

Cute pic of Trent and Bella, it really is a shame he doesn't get to see them more often.

I can't believe the WalMart was that CRAZY BUSY at 11pm.....

I got teary eyed when I saw the pic of GF. It hit me in that moment that I will be there very soon and be able to soak it all in! It looks huge!

I can't wait to have dinner at 1900 Park Fare. :) I hope there isn't too much drama with the 'steps" :rotfl:.

We only have two breakfasts this trip. Cape May and Donald's Safari at Tusker House. I can't wait for all you can eat pastries and bacon!

I was able to order one of those Character Encyclopedias for Lexi at our local book store. She loves it! Thanks BrooklynnsMommy for introducing us to such a great find! :thumbsup2

Oh! AND that purple dog story was too funny!!!

Brooklynn was a bit more shy with the face characters. She wasn't real thrilled with the Princesses at first. Bella is a little shy with all of them, although she became a bit more intrigued by them this last trip. :)

So nice that you have the morning off! Enjoy and get some rest.

I know you pretty much already gave your review of the meal at 1900, but I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures!

I will probably get to those pictures Saturday morning. Tomorrow will be non-stop as we finish out camp. I will crawl into my house tomorrow evening and hope to make it into my bed. :goodvibes

The DIS is totally bad! It makes me want to go on trips all the time!

I am such a lurker and need to stop so I decided I would finally comment.

Oh and the girls are adorableprincess:

So glad to have you with us! :yay:
(That's not me doing those jumping jacks, by the way. If I did one jumping jack, I would fall to the floor! :rotfl:)

Reading reports is dangerous. It makes you want to go on a trip every single month!

We want to do that, too. The Stepsisters are crazy!

That he does! :thumbsup2

The floors at the GF are beautiful.

That is the first thing I thought - very pricey!

I love photos of Trent and his little rats. They are so cute

GF is so nice. I'd probably want to stay for only a couple of days also if I ever had the chance. their prices would slaughter my bank account

I am liking GF more than I used to, but if I had the money, I'd rather stay at Poly. I like the tropical them better than the Victorian theme.

I really need to get over to the Grand Floridian to check it out. It looks so beautiful in all of the pictures that I have seen.

Of course, you need to go see it for yourself! :woohoo:

Who would have know that a floor could be so pretty.

:lmao::rotfl: at Brooklynn's hot dog. I have a picture of her and the hot dog when it was still a dog. Do you want me to post it?

Yes, post it...if I am not in it. ;)

I'm glad you got to get some rest, you deserve it. It sounds like your camp kids have been eating well.

I love the pictures of Trent and the girls, they look so excited to see one another.

We had hamburgers, fries, baked beans, applesauce, watermelon, and salad tonight.

As of tonight, Trent has his plane tickets for Brooklynn's birthday party. I am very glad he will be able to make it! :dance3:

Yep, this week has been painful and joyful. :)

Yes, when you saw it, it was a dog dog, not a 'weinie' dog!

The pictures of the girls with Trent are just too cute. :rotfl: at Brooklynn wanting it to be a hot dog.

Brooklynn is a trip. I'm not sure how purple dog became a hot dog, but she was happy playing with the balloon. Bella liked it, too. :goodvibes

Looks like Trent was very happy to see his little rats again. I know I say this all the time, but Trent is going to be an amazing daddy one day.:goodvibes
Sounds like a super busy week! Take it easy this weekend.
