Hi There

We are staying at the All Stars Sports resort for 3 nights before our cruise and are picking up the DCL bus from The Animal Kingdom Lodge on the morning of our cruise. As I am not driving can anybody tell me the easiest way to get to The Animal Kingdom Lodge on the morning of our cruise from the All Stars -Taxi/Bus? and is it very far, there are only two of us myself and dd(14).

Thanks for any info

First, let me say that I think WDW's bus transportation from resort to parks and back is outstanding, and most drivers we've had were as entertaining as the CMs in the parks! I never rent a car at WDW - sorry, TAs. I never needed one.

Resort to resort transportation, however, is a challenge - especially in the early AM or late after parks close. And I personally avoid the TTC at all costs, except to change monorails while making the MK to EPCOT run. The strategy is to take a WDW bus to a nearby park or DD, and transfer to a bus going to the other resort. Again, CMs will recommend bussing to the TTC to do this, but we experienced about 90 minutes of craziness trying that strategy one night in 2000, returning to ASM from GF after an evening spa visit.

Other risks involve timing, depending on how tight the DCL bus schedule is, and how early it departs from AKL - WDW busses run quite frequently, and your shortest route is probably AS Sports to AK, then transfer to AKL bus. AK opens early, so this is doable. You will still want to offer yourself some extra time to account for two potential bus waits.

If, however, you want to take the most direct route possible, and make sure you get to the DCL bus on time with less worry, spring for a cab. Guest Services at the AS will be happy to call one for you, probably a $10 - $15 ride at most for the two of you. Give about a 1/2 hour notice or so. Sound right to everybody?

Hope this helps. Have a great time!

Thanks so much for all the information, it is a big help. I think I will probably go for getting the cab, as hopping from bus to bus might prove draining with our luggage.

Many Thanks
