Frogmommy's "Time for a change" thread - comments welcome

Hi!

Ty Amy, Jane, and Cam. :)

Amy, it's a good thing that my family gobbled up bfast. If there had been a biscuit around later that night I'm sure I would have eaten it, lol.

Jane, I am really looking forward to being a lot lighter for this Disney trip then I have been since I went with my college band - geez, over 15 years ago. You know what I'm really looking forward to? Wearing a normal bathing suit without a tee shirt to cover myself up. That would be a HUGE deal to me.

Today was good. It's November and I saw gardenias blooming. That's weird SC weather for you. I think the high today was in the 80s. Totally bizarre, but so nice.

My diet was good on the whole. The local kids museum had family night tonight, with admission for only a dollar. We went, but that meant I didn't cook. I talked DH out of going to the local wing and BBQ place. We ended up at Applebee's instead. It's not my favorite place but at least they have the WWs menu (ty Amy for reminding me of this a few pages ago ;) ). Here's my food for the day:

Go Lean - 1 pt
salad with ham, RF cheese, and strawberries - 3
wasa crackers with RF CC - 2
2 starburst - 1 or 2?
WW desert - 2
shrimp and steak skewers - 7
2 french fries and 2 onion peels - 2?
krave bar - 4
64 oz water

Did 30 minutes of lower body work.

Thanks for stopping by my journal the other day!

Looks like you are doing GREAT! 10 lbs is a huge accomplishment, believe me I remember all too well! It all seemed so daunting at the time. No I have 5 to work on and it seems daunting. I so need to work on not slipping into my old habits. argh

Well, keep up your great work. I'll check back soon.

Tell me, do you live near the SC coast? I hear it is beautiful there. Tell me about SC a bit if you get a chance (you can PM me if you'd rather).

Happy Wednesday! :sunny: :sunny:

Congrats on making the healthy choice while eating out! That is always the hardest.

Great job sticking with the program!!! :cheer2:

Hi! Keep up the good work. Enjoy the good weather, I know we've had it unseasonably warm here too, which makes it nice because I love to run outside. Once it starts getting really cold, I quit, or get moved inside, which isn't nearly as fun. :sunny:

Have a good weekend!

Well hi everyone!!

Man, the last two days were stressful. My final project in my class was due today so I was up later than usual last night working on it. While I was working, a mom that I had been helping through the group that I volunteer with got in touch with me and needed assistance. And while all this was going on, in the back of my head I was thinking about having to see my mother today, for the first time in over a month. Actually, it's probably good that I was so busy because I didn't have time to stress out too much about my mom.

So anyway, I got my project done. I was able to help that mom. And lunch today with my mom went fine. *deep breaths* Mom is actually the first person to notice that I've lost weight. Should be positive, right? Of course somehow in my mind its negative because when she commented I immediately thought "well of course she noticed, she's hypersensitive about my weight." I don't know who is more nuts, her or me. :earseek: Anyway, it still felt good to hear her compliment me.

Ty jay-nee, Amy, Tracy, Jen, Kate, and Beth for your support! It feels so good to come on here and read those words. ;)
Jay-nee, I live in the middle of the state, but one of the nice things about SC is that you are really only a couple of hours from anywhere. The coast is beautiful and offers something for a variety of tastes (I feel like a travel ad, lol). We also have mountains for those who don't like to go to the beach (we are at the base of the Appalachians).
Kate, we are trying to enjoy the weather as much as possible. I think today was the last day of really warm weather. Tomorrow the high is supposed to be in the mid 60s. I'm not complaining though. It's weird to walk around in shorts in the middle of Novemeber.

OK, I don't remember everything I ate yesterday. I probably could if I really thought hard about it, but I'm tired. I think it was pretty good though, except for the bag of baked lays that I finished off last night - definetely stress eating. Most of the bag was crumbs, so I think it wasn't too bad an error. Today's menu is similar to yesterday's, except that yesterday I had my standard hummus lunch. I did manage to get in my 20 minutes of cardio yesterday and 25 minutes of upper body today. There was no way I was going to let the cardio slide because I knew it would be really difficult to make it up. Anyway, here's today's food:

Go lean - 1
Salad with ham - 1
2 wasa crackers with cc - 2
1 PB cracker - .5 or 1?
FF yogurt - 2
chicken with plums - 5
orzo - 3
brocoli - 0
WW desert - 2
white wine - 2

The one not so good thing today is that I got about half of the water that I usually do.

DH is off tomorrow and DS is spending the night with mom. Now if we could just convince DD to sleep in, I might actually get to also. Sleep is nice. :)

Congrats on getting your project done and good for you for helping out someone else! :cheer2:

I agree, sleep IS nice! And just when we finally got to the point where the kids can get their own cereal on the weekends, we got a puppy who likes to wake up at 5:30am... :dog:

You are doing great with your meals and working out. I'm glad your mom noticed your loss!

Hi!

Ugh Amy, 5:30. I guess I should be happy that DD slept until 7:50. I really was hoping for longer though. Ah well, maybe she'll sleep longer tomorrow.

I really meant to spend some time today reading other journals, but then I got hit with a bunch of administrative stuff that needed to be done for the group I volunteer with. *Sigh* :guilty: Maybe tomorrow.

DH wants to take the family to see Chicken Little tomorrow. I'm trying to talk him into just taking DS. We've taken DD to movies before but it really is difficult since she is still so young. The movie is also playing at the local drive in, so that might be a fun option. Plus I can bring my own food and will be less likely to be tempted by popcorn.

Today was another good diet day. I had:

Go lean with strawberries - 1.5
hummus on WW pita - 3
red grapes - 1
2 wasa crackers - 1
RF string cheese - 1
flank steak - 5
1 red potato - 1.5
salad with strawberries - .5
WW ice cream cone - 2
64 oz of water

Did 20 minutes of cardio. It's funny how sometimes my cardio workouts are a struggle to get through and sometimes they aren't so bad. Today was one of those not so bad days. I actually felt pretty powerful. I still hate doing it though! :p

HI there!!!!

Sorry it has been a while since I posted, things here have been crazy.

Sounds like you are doing a great job. Keep up the good work and have a wonderful weekend

Hi!

Jamie, please don't worry about not coming here often enough. I have a really hard time posting on other journals more than once a week. I understand about life getting crazy. :flower:

Wellllllllll, the big news here is college football. Both USC and Clemson won their games today, setting up a big game next week. Clemson beat FSU (:( I got my Masters at FSU) and Carolina beat Florida!!!! :cheer2: All is well in the froggy household. :teeth:

Dietwise the day has been mostly good. I bought DH some queso dip and baked tortillas, and naturally had to sample. Man is that stuff good! I think I managed just to eat a serving of the dip and maybe 1 1/2 serving of the chips, so I should be ok. We have leftovers though, and that's never good. :earseek:

I didn't do my lower body stuff today. Tomorrow is supposed to be my day off, so I'll do it then. It's nice to have some flexability on the weekends.

Here's the menu for today:

Go Lean with strawberries- 1.5
hummus on pita - 3
queso - 2
baked tortilla chips - 3
2 wasas with RF CC - 2
flank steak - 5
Red wine - 2
red skin potato - 1.5
TCBY junior cup with LF chocolate - 4 (they didn't have FF!)
72 oz water

Hi!

Ty Jen, I hope yours is great as well!

Today was weigh in day. I am now at 183! :cool1: That's a 2 lb loss!!

I did 30 minutes of lower body workout today. The site that I was using to calculate nutritional content for my recipes is down, so I am at a bit of a loss for what to put for dinner. Grrr. Anyway, here's how the day went:

Go lean - 1
hummus on pita - 3
red grapes - 1
baked layes - 2
RF string cheese - 1
Chicken - ???
Lima beans - 1
basmati rice - 3
ww desert - 3
72 oz water

I should be ok as long as the chicken was 10 pts or less. I'm pretty sure that's the case.

OK, I need to spend some time reading and posting. ;)

A two pound loss is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! I know what you mean about having to sample I mean if it's in the house I have to make sure it's not going to poison my DH. Ok so that's an excuse but it works. :)

Have a super week!

Congrats on the weightloss!! :cheer2: :cheer2: Your workouts and food plan are working! It won't be long until you're in the 170's!

Hi everyone!

Ty Beth, Jen, Tracy, Allison, and Jane for your support! :teeth: I've been bouncing around between 184 and 183 for a few days. I was so excited that the scale landed on 183 for my official weigh in post. So what if it was back at 184 today? It's not official, so it doesn't count, right? ;)

Today was weird. Maybe I'm PMSing?? :confused3 I got dressed after I weighed myself. Now recently when I get dressed the first thing I notice is how loose my clothes are. Today I looked and just saw fat (maybe I need to throw out the horizontal striped shirts?). Anyway, it clouded my morning. Then, this afternoon I did my 20 minutes of cardio and pushed myself much harder than I ever had before. It kinda happened by accident - I think I didn't pace myself well in the begining of the workout. But I stuck with it and made it. In some ways it was almost an easier workout than usual. I just keep feeling more and more powerful. I even went outside and raked the leaves when I was done. A month ago I would've collapsed on the bed instead.

My diet has been really good today. The only snack I've had is FF yogurt. This how the day looked:

Go lean - 1
Open face Ham and RF cheese on SWbread - 3
1/2 pear - .5
FF yogurt - 2
Leftover chicken - ????
Lima beans - 1
basmati rice - 3
WW desert - 3
64+ oz water
