Frogmommy's "Time for a change" thread - comments welcome

Hi, Heather! Wow! I haven't been around for a while, and when I check in there is so much to congratulate you on! You have been doing an awesome job of working out and making really smart food choices even in tempting situations. :goodvibes: CONGRATULATIONS to DH's band for placing first! That is totally awesome!

I'm so happy that the ladybug costume came out well. I am impressed with anyone who is that creative.

Have a great day!

That's great that you have the time and talent to make a Halloween costume! I'm sure it is adorable! I am proud of myself when I sew a button on and it doesn't fall off... :teeth:

You are doing great on your eating and working out. You are getting into great shape, keep it up! :cool1:

Hi!

Ty Cam & Amy. :)

Truth is I really don't sew at all, but I take a stab at costumes because I figure anything I put together would be just as cute as some cheap thing from Wallyworld. DDs costume is far from perfect, but you can tell what it is, which is what I was going for!! :rotfl:

So, today I went to DHs school to teach a lesson. Some of his students pulled me aside to ask if I could somehow trick him into going to Yamato's after the contest. Yamato's is a Japanese steakhouse (DHs band is playing a Japanese show). So I guess Outback is out. It may be harder for me to find something that I can eat, but its ok. He's going to be so surprised. I think it's cool that his kids like him that much. It's been a good year.

My Dad and his wife are in Orlando. They live in Miami but left before Wilma hit. I talked to him on the phone today - he said they are stranded because their power is out and they have no idea when it will be back on again. MAN, of all places to be stranded!! Luckily their house didn't flood and they appear to have minimal damage from fallen trees. Anyway, I told him to call me if he gets bored and needs ideas for things to do, lol.

Here's the menu for today:

Go Lean -1
Hummus on Pita - 3
1/2 pear - .5
muffin - 1
lite rye crackers with CC - 2
1/2 serving baked lays - 1
leftover chicken, rice, and brocoli - 6
HS ice cream - 2
CC and olives on SPbread - 3
72 oz h2o

Did 30 minutes lower body.

Scale showed a 1 lb loss, so now my sig line is correct again! :earboy2:

You are doing great! I'm sure you will find some healthy options at the Japanese restaurant. Just eat half of what they give you and save the rest for lunch the next day!

Congrats on the loss! You will be changing your ticker again in no time! :goodvibes

Nice job on the loss....That is great!

You are doing such a good job. Keep up the good work.

Hi Amy and Jamie-

Ty so much for your comments. I had a weird week last week, but I feel like I'm finally getting back on track.

I am here really late today, so just the food list. I'm a little overwhelmed right now with *stuff* :hyper:

Today I ate:
go lean - 1 pt
Mandarian chicken salad from wendy's - 6?
1/2 pack of noodles - .5?
1/2 pack of low fat honey mustard dressing - 1?
1 muffin -1
1/2 serving of baked lays - 1
1 lite rye cracker with CC - 1.5
2 rolls of sweet tarts - 1
HC keibasa with cabbage and navy beans - 3 pts
1/2 slice of SWbread - .5
HS ice cream - 2 pts
oh yeah, 6 french fries :( - 1
64+ oz h2o

Even with the FFs and STs not bad. I'm not completely sure about the Wnedy's stuff - I'll check on it later.

Did 20 minutes of cardio.

Maybe Friday night I can get here early enough to post on some other journals. I need to keep up!!!

You are doing great!! I just hope Friday gets here SOON, it has been a week to say the least.

Your meals look excellent as always, even with the fries! And Sweet Tarts are WAY better than Snickers or something! :goodvibes

You are doing great, you'll lose more weight in no time! :cheer2:

Congrats on continuing to be doing really well. You are really watching what you are eating and getting exercise. Your scale will move soon I'm sure. Hang in there!!! You are doing great.

Keep on

Hi!

Ty Gradtchr, Amy, and Chris! I think I will have a good weigh in on Sunday if I can just stay away from the Halloween candy!!

Yes, the candy onslaught has begun. Today my DS's preschool held it's annual Harvest Festival, so we already have a bowl of candy. There's a couple of Reeses cups that keep calling out to me when I pass them, but I pretend I don't notice and walk on by. Maybe DH will get to them before I do!

gradtchr, the craziness in my life will ease off on Sunday. DHs last contest is Saturday. Our neighborhood is also holding trick or treat on Saturday (don't ask me why, I wasn't consulted). And oh yeah, my kookie MIL will be here. On Sunday my life will return to semi-normal existance!

I was a little snacky today, but I think I'm ok point wise:

go lean - 1
ham & cheese on flat bread - 3 (gotta check the value for the FB)
apple - 1
about 10 goldfish - guessing at 1
1 oreo - 1
very small bite of a very small hersheys -1?
sweat tarts - 1
crackers - 1
CC and olives on SWbread - 3
HC keibasa with cabbage and navy beans - 3
1/2 slice SWbread - .5
64 oz h2o

So, even if I'm low on what I'm guessing my points are, I'm still probably ok. Still, its a lot of itty bitty snacking that's going to add up.

I did my 25 minutes of upper body today. I also managed to find some time to read some other journals. I may even go read some more.

I wish my snacks looked more like your snacks! You're doing great. Glad to hear that things will be calming down for you after Sunday. Have fun trick or treating! Its so much fun going with kids - I miss those days!

I agree with Jane, your snacks are way better than mine... :rolleyes1 You'll get that under control again, it is hard this time of year! Have DH take all the candy to work. That always helps!

You are still doing great, keep it up! :goodvibes

Heather -- Your snacks do not look bad at all! Now GO exercise for 5 minutes so you can be RED on the October exercise challenge!

Great big bunches of :wizard: and luck to your DH and his band this weekend. Ours needs a phenomenal score tomorrow night in order to make it to championships. They have NO qualifying scores because of weather issues and now they are under the gun. I know your DH's band is going in strong. I hope they bring home the BIG TROPHY!!!!

Hi everyone!

Well, if you thought my snacks looked good last night you oughta see todays, LOL. Those darn reeses just wouldn't leave me alone. Had to eat one to get them to shut up. That'll teach them!!!

Seriously, do you think DS would be upset if I burried his candy in the backyard?

Today was crazy busy and tomorrow will be crazier. The way everything is set up I doubt my kids will get a nap. Not a big deal for DS4, he only rarely takes them anyway. But DD17mths.... yikes. I'm toying with the idea of getting them up early so they will take an early nap. But then I'll be dragging. UGH.

Ty MM, Jane, Amy, and Cam for being so supportive. I think what I really need is lots of sleep - and possibly some wine. Mmm, wine *insert Homer drooling smilie here*

And ty Cam for good wishes for DH. The kids have an outside shot at winning. The same band has won it every year that I can remember. But, if we have a really good night and they have a bad night, or even an average night, it's possible. We won lower state and the other band won upper state, so they will be playing back to back. Scarey. The fact is that our band has never been higher than 3rd at state - not bad for a school that is just 6 years old - so even 2nd would be really great. The top 4 bands competing are all really good, so it's going to be tight.
That's terrible about your DDs band having weather issues. It's so unfair, but what can you do? I'm hoping the good weather fairy visits them this weekend so they can do what they need to qualify.

Ok, I kinda lost track of everything I ate. I had a good core menu for the day, but UGH the snacking! Which was made worse by UGH football food! Hmmm...

Go Lean - 1
Salad with ham, RF cheese, and 1/2 pear - 2.5
1 reeses - ?
1 bite sized butterfinger crunch - ?
sigh, 1 snack sized twix - ?
hummus on pita - 3
2 french fries - ? (thinking 1, they were the big crinkle types)
1 oh not so worth it terriaki chicken stick thing with sauce! - about an ounce worth - points unknown
1 peanut butter cracker - 1
and the grande finale - parts of 2 mozzerella sticks, though I picked the breading off - ?
Any chance this was 25 points or under????

At least I got in 64+oz of water. And I was smart and did my 20 minutes of cardio first thing this morning. There's no way I would have done it if I had waited till nap time. I'm thinking tomorrow's lower body is getting done on Sunday. I still have to put the finishing touches on DDs costume and clean the house before MIL gets here. AKKKK, where's that wine?

Good luck tomorrow. I'm pulling for you DH's band! They'll do great I am sure. Give us a report when you can.

Reeses call to me all the time, it's weird I used to hate them now I love them! Reeses sticks are actually a lot more addictive to me than the cups but mmmmmm. I agree with the mmmmmmm wine, you deserve some!!

Enjoy tomorrow and Yamamotos!

I haven't even bought the Halloweeen candy yet. In years past my m.o. has been to eat it all before Halloween! No more of that. I don't have the self control.

Hi!

Ty Gradtchr for your well wishes! DH's band came in a very close 2nd. They were less than 4 tenths of a point out of first. The really cool thing is that although the kids wanted to win no one seemed upset with 2nd. They knew they had done a great job. DH is a fantastic teacher. I'm so proud of him :lovestruc

Jackie, I wish I didn't have to have this stuff around the house. DH trick or treated yesterday. We managed to give out almost all our stuff, but we got a slew of candy back. DH at least put all the chocolate out of sight. In the past I would have just eaten it all so it wouldn't be an issue anymore. It's funny, I can deal with oreos in the house for DS's sake, but add candy to the mix and I'm overwhelmed.

Here's the good and bad news about my progress on the weight loss. The good news is that I lost another pound this week. The bad news is that my diet was terrible the last few days, so I bet I gain that pound back tomorrow.

I'm not going to list every thing I've eaten for the last two days. Here are some highlights (and lowlights). Both yesterday and today I've had good core meals for bfast and lunch. Go lean both days, of course. Hummus yesterday for lunch and a salad today. I even did pretty well today at dinner, despite being told that we were going out to Ruby Tuesdays for dinner. I got soup and salad. Not sure the point value, but had this been an average weekend it would have been a very good choice. The thing is I have had a bunch of candy. AND last night I went to that japanese steakhouse and ate everything on my plate - salad with ginger dressing (yum), soup (broth with mushrooms), veggies with rice, shrimp and filet mignon, and sherbert. Everything was cooked in oil and butter, even the steak.

I have done a good job of getting enough water. I've also had 2 glasses of champagne today. :teeth:

It was late, but I managed to get yesterday's lower body workout in tonight. I did 25 minutes instead of 30, but at least I did them.

So, tomorrow's a new day and the excitement of the weekend is behind me. Time to get refocused for November and Thanksgiving!

Good morning frogmommy! :sunny:

I wanted to stop by and thank you for your post in my journal. :goodvibes I hope to get to read your entire journal this week so I can get caught up on what's going on.

Thanks again and have a great Monday! :flower:

Congratulations on the second place!! Were yall able to surprise DH with the Japanese place or did you tell him beforehand?

Great job on the workout.
