Well, today I am back to 183. YAY. Tomorrow I will probably be back at 184. I was doing pretty well today until we went to Publix to get a few things. They were having their holiday sample thing. We pretty much used their samples for dinner. The good thing is that everything I had was bite sized and I shared a lot of mine with the kids. The bad thing is that some of the samples included ice cream and cookies - and wow were they good. I really don't know where I am point wise today. I'm betting I'm over, though probably not by much. The rest of the day was tame with my usuals. I did have a small snack of baked tortilla chips and queso, which I planned to make up for with a small dinner. Oops. :rolleyes1

I'm still working to get all my water in. Hopefully I'll make it by the end of the day. I got my upper body workout in, 25 minutes worth. It was after the kids went to bed when I did it, and I almost decided to put it off till later. But then I realized that messing up the diet AND missing a workout was a slippery slope I didn't want to be on. Plus I need to lose 3 lbs by Thanksgiving if I'm going to make that challenge. Yikes!
 
Good for you avoiding a 'slide'! I totally hear you on the slippery slope. Last time I went to WDW when I came back I didn't go to the gym for three weeks! I hope that doesn't happen this time!
 

Yes, it is SO easy to talk yourself into screwing up all day long just because you screwed up one moment of the day!! Great job getting that workout in!

I hope you make your goal for the Thanksgiving Challenge! And if you don't, no big deal, that weight will come off when it's ready!!

Hi Jen. Wow, by the time you see this your friend will be on his way home. I am so excited for you both!!

Today was busy but good. I got in a good 20 minute cardio earlier in the day. DH and I left the kids with my mom for a few hours this evening. This is the first time we've been out together just the two of us in months. We went to Moes Southwestern. I like it because they use only fresh ingrediants and don't add any fat. Food is good too. ;) Afterwards we walked over to Booksamillion. I got the 2006 edition of the Unoficial Guide to Disneyworld, to read in my spare time, lol.

Speaking of WDW, we recently made our PS ressies for our trip. I can't believe we've already got them but at least I don't have to worry about it anymore. For the most part we picked places that we've always wanted to go but never made it to before. The one exception is 'Ohanna. We're going there the first night with the seniors in the band - about 30 of us altogether! Sunday night we're going to Spoodles. Monday morning is Chef Mickey's and Tuesday morning is Boma's. The rest of the time will be counter service - provided with our package. I'm excited.

The diet went well today. Here's what I ate-

Go lean - 1
salad with ham, RF cheese, and 1/2 pear - 2.5
baked tortilla chips - 2
1 serving queso - 2
"Close Talker" salad from Moes, no shell, with grilled chicken and black beans, without cheese or dressing - 10 (very filling and worth it)
Mic Ultra - 2
WW eclair - 3
64+ oz water

I'm still at 183 today, hoping for 182 tomorrow.

Ty Amy and Chris! The salad was really good. I like Moe's - it's a good alternative to going to one of those authentic Mexican places. I love Mexican, but I can't eat it like I used to. I think the day I make my goal I'm pigging out either on Mexican or pizza. Maybe both.

So ARGH, today I was back up to 184. GRRRR. I've been stuck here for a week. I know the weight loss will pick up again, but the situation is starting to irritate me! On the positive side, the muscles in my thighs are starting to feel much firmer. I'm attributing some of the scale activity to the muscle growth. I know that's a good thing but I want the loss!

I have a statewide administrative position for the group I volunteer with. Today the person who is in charge for the state asked me to consider taking on an additional role. I actually would like to, but DH says no. Not that I have to run it by him or anything. His point is that I've already taken on too much. I need to think more about it.

I haven't eaten much today. I'm not really hungry but I'll probably get some yogurt before bed. I don't want to get hungry in the middle of the night.

I did 30 minutes of lower body weight training. I've been doing squats and leg extensions, but I'm worried about the stress they are putting on my knees. Today I did some bent knee lifts instead. Not sure they were as affective but at least my knee wasn't popping with every move.

Here's the food for today-
Go lean - 1
hummus on WW pita - 3
red grapes - 1
2 wasa crackers - 1
about 3 oz of eye of round steak, grilled - 4
1 small red potato - 1
brocoli - 0
WW desert - 3
1 glass merlot - 2

DH goes away tomorrow AM to take some of his kids to a symphonic band clinic. I won't see him again until late Saturday. Wish me luck!
 
Don't worry, that scale will start moving again. As long as you can tell your body is toned, you know your workouts are effective. And the more muscle you have, the more fat you burn! You are losing the weight slowly, which is the most effective way to keep it off. I was stuck at the same weight for 2.5 months, then it finally started coming off. It happens, but it won't stay that way forever...

Just keep doing what your doing. Hang in there this weekend! :banana:
 
Hi. Kike Amy said don't worry, the scale will start to move again. It seems that I go through this every month. It makes me mad, but I get over it. I just add more to my workout.

I have really started going through those scale spurts and it is frustrating but once that scale starts moving it moves for a few weeks in the right direction and is so rewarding. Hang in there! It WILL happen.

Ty Amy, Jamie, and Chris for the support. I know you are all correct and speak from experience but yes it is SO frustrating, especially when I was doing so well. Today the scale showed another lb gained! UGH. It's got to be the muscle gain. I decided to add another 5 minutes to today's cardio, for a total of 25. I'm going to keep doing that for a week to see if it helps. At some point I may need to add an extra cardio on the weekends. I am also flirting with reducing my points. I think today's total is 18. I think I'd like to keep it between 20-22, at least until Thanksgiving.

It's actually been cold here the last 2 days. Today we stayed inside all day in our sweatpants. Tomorrow I have to do my grocery shopping for the week, including Thanksgiving. We will do dinner at Moms on Thursday, then host DHs family on Saturday. I think Thursday will be OK. Mom and I talked and she is going to make sure that there is stuff for me to eat. I'm not sure what I'll do on Saturday. My MIL's idea of healthy eating is cutting back on the fatback. :earseek: There's a pretty good chance they might not even show up though. I will be one unhappy froggy if I get stuck with an extra turkey. I don't even like turkey all that much.

Gotta love the holidays!!!! :crazy:

I feel your pain with the scale. I lose a pound I gain two then I lose three but I gain 2 back. It's truly frustrating! The good thing is that it does improve and muscle does affect it. :) You're doing great!!!!

Well, today the scale was back down to 183, so my sig line is accurate again. I wonder what it will be tomorrow on the official weigh in? I've accepted that there is probably no way I'll meet my Tgiving challenge. Ah well. I'm not giving up.

So today I did pretty well until about 5:00. I was sooo hungry and snacked as a result. I'm still where I want to be point wise, but man it was hard. The thing is I wasn't snacking out of boredom or stress, I was hungry! I finally ended up eating dinner about 1 1/2 hours earlier than usual. That worked for awhile but now I'm getting hungry again. I guess it's because of the increased cardio and decreased intake yesterday. I wonder how long it will be till my body adjusts? Hopefully soon, this is not fun.

I did 20 minutes of upper body today. Usually it's longer but I left out a chest exersize - I had been doing an extra one.

Ty Katy. I was relieved that it went back down. I did find a 2 point snack. Unfortunately I also found a 4 point snack. I was soo hungry yesterday.

Today has been better. I think I'm right at 20 pts if my guesses are correct and I'm not feeling famished like yesterday. Today was my rest day, so no workout, unless you count xmas shopping. I am still 183, so no change this week. Hopefully I will have something to report next week.

This is what I ate today:

Go lean-1
Ham sandwich on WW with FF swiss - I'm going to guess 5. It may be less.
baked lays-2
bite of DSs choc. chip cookie - 1
wasa crackers - 1
beef and onions on rice - 7 (this was from a low fat cookbook)
WW desert - 3

The only bad thing today is that I probably got about 40oz of water in. May try to rectify that in the next half hour (doubtful) or might opt for green tea instead.

Don't let the number on the scale get you down! You are becoming so much more healthier with all the workouts you are doing! I don't think you should lower your points too much. I have never done WW, but I know that your calories need to be at least 1200 for the day.

Hang in there! You are still doing a great job! :cheer2:
 
Heather if you have any decorating advice let me know. I feel like I've been to every housewares store in town! Trying to select curtains, rugs, paint etc can be as draining as it is fun.

Looks like your food plan is working out. I always hate the days when I feel hungrier than normal. Congrats on overcoming that for this week!
