Does anyone have experience with these??:confused3

I have heard good things about these and we found some at Wal-Mart for a good price (cheaper than Amazon) so I picked them up for our upcoming summer trip to the World.

My youngest DS is very heat sensitive and we tend to go out in the early morning for rope drop at our designated park, stop and head back to the pool or water park by noon, and venture back to a park for late EMH.

I am really hoping these make the difference for him to be more comfortable in the lovely Florida summertime weather!! :cool2:

Thanks!

We brought some with us when we went in June 2011 and they made a HUGE difference! We only really got hot enough once to use them and that was in Animal Kingdom but once we put them around out necks it was so nice! We just kept them in a ziplock and my grandma even cut hers up so we could wrap it around my daughters arms and legs too when we were just sitting.

We are in Missouri and having some HOT weather right now, so we have tested them out a bit. It wasn't a cure-all, but it made the 110 degree heat index tolerable, at least for a bit.

It seems like there should be clothing made of this stuff!!!

DH and I draped it around our necks and I used it to pat my face to cool off. A few times DH draped it over his head and down his back, inside his shirt, and put his hat on over it to hold it in place. He said it felt cool. They did help although we still needed to slip into the air conditioning once in a while.

We have them for our employees and boy do they make a difference in the 100+ degree heat. Got our larger size ones at Bed, Bath and Beyond.

I have one and I take it almost everywhere we go, because I tend to get hot. Just make sure to wash them really well before storing them, because they can get a really nasty smell and store them where the holes in the container aren't blocked or you will get that stale smell, too.

DH works outside so I got one for him since our temps have been hovering around 100 for the last week or so. He loves it and says it helps a lot. If we went to Disney in the summer months we'd both have one!

I use my Speedo Swimming towels - basically the same thing only smaller size - perfect for around the neck! Bonus, if we decide to bail form the park and head to the waterpark, we don't need to rent a towel. :thumbsup2

We used ours on our May trip and it was great. Well worth the $13 and we all shared it. At DD10 ballgame last weekend when it was still 101 at 6pm we used one and bought her one of the scarf like ones to have in the dugout. I'm sure there would have been alot more complaining had we not had one it helped quiet a bit. We also used them at the 4th celebration yesterday but it was only in the upper 90's (notice the only). I don't know if I'll ever visit WDW in the summer again without one.

GET A CHILLY PAD!

We are at WDW now and these things are amazing.
Even with the special Florida humidity, they are still cold and help so much with coping with the heat.

DS10 is very sensitive to the heat and he is doing fantastic even into the early afternoon while we are using our Chilly Pads.

We got ours from Wal-Mart before we came down, but I have seen them on Amazon and other places online.

They are worth every penny and we will NEVER Disney in the summer without them!!

Hope this info helps someone who is thinking about getting some of these!

I got everyone in the fam a neck cooler, (water crystals inside) and they expand and stay cold for days! I got them from etsy this will make this July trip bearable!:rotfl2: I can't wait! 2wks exactly!

I got them for our Aug trip. When it was about 100 last week I tried my chilly pad and it was good about 2 hrs. it was So cold, my kids ran and giggled for me not to touch them with it.

Can someone please tell me where they are located in Wal Mart? I looked for them a couple of days ago and even asked an employee where they were and she looked at me like I was crazy!!:confused3 and said they didn't sell them.

I finally found them in the camping supply section of my local Wal-Mart. They were with the camping water bottles, first aid, and cooking supply stuff.

The chilly pads are more convenient than the old-school neck coolers. They're more portable, less "drippy" and more effective.

They're great for golf, in addition to WDW. If you have trouble finding them, check pro shops and golf stores.

We use them! They work. I have a Frog Toggs hat (baseball cap) too and DD a regular sunhat with the same type of materials in it--it's not Frogg Toggs brand.

We also use sun umbrellas(we are very careful not poke anyones eyes out with them and only use them when stopped and out of the way)--they are made just for the sun--they are silver and pretty small, enough coverage for one person. Let me tell you--they have been lifesavers! My DD 13 is very heat sensitive-and she's only 96 lbs wet!:confused3

One more thing we always have with us is an 02 cooler fan--the mini ones. They are little fans with misters. I also own a "Misty Mate"--it's great too but doesn't fan-just mists which is very cooling too--just don't mist others around you--not everyone wants to get wet!

Off topic kinda w/the other items--sorry!

I just have a lot of "beat the heat" type items so I thought I would share!!!

No belly button we are headed down the same time as you two weeks from today. We cannot wait either. Have a great trip. We have been looking at the towels as a lady had one at softbball practice and they really worked well,
