Fringe...

We DVR'ed both episodes and finally watched them last night. I really liked them! Definitely right in line with my tastes, i.e. action, gore, humor, creepyness, etc... :thumbsup2

My new favorite show! Even though I still think of that actor as Paisey (sp?) from Dawson's Creek :)

I'm going with the love it crowd, but I have a question. What age would you, or do you, let kids watch Fringe based on what you've seen so far? My daugher is almost 11 and really wants to watch. She loves CSI so the gross-out things wouldn't bother her. Just curious...

::yes:: Me too! I can't even remember his character's name. I just call him Pacey. :goodvibes

Ditto! I heart Pacey! LOL< I know I know he's Joshua Jackson. Whatever you wanna call him I love him and am just happy to see him in something again!!!

I liked both eppys.

But I have concerns.

Lost lost me when it didn't move alone in the story line. I don't have time to keep up with a show that might do 2 eppys and then not do another one for months. So being by the same person this show concerns me.

Last but not least is FOX. This network is the worse to can a show, before it gets started.

I thought you would! :thumbsup2

This show has been added to Heroes and Lost as shows I must watch.

Oh and I can't believe you do not know who Pacey is!!!

I go way back and still call him Charlie from Mighty Ducks.
:lmao:

Speaking of "Charlie"... I still think of Matthew Fox ("Jack" on Lost) as "Charlie" because that was his name on Party of Five. It always messed me up that there was a Charlie on the show and it wasn't him.

:rotfl2: Me too!!

When they would say Charlie on the show, I kept looking for Fox to be on the screen.

Well...I'm not Scurvy but I'm a big Lost fan so I'll answer...

It is a bit like Lost, and yet completely different. There is a large, questionable company that has something to do with what is going on, but we don't know what. While each episode is neatly tied up at the end, there is also a running plotline of a "What the heck is going on here?" nature. The show is, basically, about the Fringe sciences (mind control, reanimiaton, genetic manipulation/mutation, regeneration, etc.) I'd definitely recommend trying it out. We love it!

It was funny...the first episode was filled with minor similarities to Lost. It begins with a plane emergency, there is a bedroom scene between two good-lucking blondes (a la Goodwin and Juliet), there is a large, suspicious company (a la Dharma), etc. I don't know if they were intentional nods to Lost, but they made us laugh!

The show is on Fox on Tuesdays at 9:00. Do you have the first two episodes to see? If not I would be happy to put them on a DVD (I DVR'd them) and send it to you. I think you really need to see at least the first episode for some vital info. PM me with your address if you're interested.
Wow! Thanks for all the great information. I will be able to watch the first 2 episodes online. So, no need to send the DVD. But, I really appreciate the offer. Thank you!
Kycha - It remind me of Lost in a way though it feels more like The X-Files. There is the big conspiracy like Lost has. The show as a whole as stranger than Lost, but because it is so strange the really weird moments don't feel as weird (to me) as the weird moments on Lost. They just aren't quite as "out of left field" as the strange moments on Lost, if that makes sense.

It airs on Fox on Tuesday at 8:00 central.
Okay. Good. I was a fan of X-Files too. So, now I have a good sense of what to expect.

I really liked it too :confused3 I think this weeks episodes was a big improvement from the pilot and the acting will hopefully continue to get better! My DH actually caught the beginning and got engrossed and stayed for the whole thing. That NEVER happens in our house!

Kycha-
I am a big JJ fan and I actually think the show is more like Alias than Lost. In Alias there was always a central "crisis" for the episode and off Sydney went to "save the world" but then at the end it was part of a larger conspiracy. Kind of how Fringe is in that they solve the paranormal event this week but then it somehow ties into the "pattern". Except for some of the music, I just don't see as much LOST in it as I do Alias and the X-Files.
Thanks puffkin! I never watched Alias but I think I'll have to rent a couple seasons from Netflix.

The network is to blame for that, not JJ Abrams. Also the decision to stretch out the last 48 episodes of Lost over 3 seasons rather than 2. It's all so ABC can make more money off the franchise. BTW, they are replaying Lost on the SciFi network. 4 episodes every Monday.

I've been watching Fringe, I really like it. I like JJ Abrams and it's an interesting show. DBF got me into it...

If you didn't know already, there's a whole other story line with the Fringe ARG (alternate reality game).. It's really interesting to follow. Just google "Fringe ARG"...

I guess they killed him off to help people like us. :lmao:

See if they had named Fox the name Charlie and Dominic Monahan the name Merry, then I could have followed better. :lmao:

That is true. I was so disgusted with the bouncing around, I really have no interest in trying to catch up.

Thanks! I will be checking that out.

:rotfl: You think I'm kidding. I kept waiting for Pippin to pop up on the show. It just didn't seem right to have one, but not the other.
