thanks Michele, she's as ok as she can be with the A-Fib, nothing they can do to correct that, so she just takes breaks as needed.

you got that right....she was raised on a farm, still does all her own yard work other than the mowing, she just turned 74 a month ago! My daddy died back in 2003 so she's been on her own and still takes care of everything around the house that she can...volunteers at the hospital and does water aerobics 3 times a week! sometimes she doesn't know her limits and over does, she can be a stubborn mule at times too!

Hello my friends!

I had planned on this trip last summer before we went to WDW in October and when I found out about a one-day Adventure by Disney tour that was being offered I couldn't cancel!

We got to the airport with no difficulties, plane on time and we enjoyed a beautiful sunset just before we landed in Orange Country

after landing, getting our luggage, shuttle ride to the hotel and checking in it was about 730pm....we had planned on meeting up with Kaoden and her DH at the Grand CA, but he had hurt his back and they weren't able to go. So we got settled in and ordered pizza from the food court and got to bed early, next day was going to be early!!!

Day 1 - ABD tour "Lights, Camera, Magic" I was so excited to go on this tour! surprised Megan with it....

we met up with our guides Dean and Michel at the Grand CA at 8am, we signed in and got a snack and drink for the bus ride (courtesty of the guys) and loaded up for our trip up to Burbank and the Walt Disney Studios!

Dean and Michel...they were so much fun, crazy and lots of laughes!

about 45 minutes later....we pulled into....

we got out, received our "visitor badges" and a bathroom break....look what we found inside, aren't they cute!

we got to walk around the "campus" of the studios

before heading into the Walt Disney Theatre...some of the awards and memorbilia and some beautiful art deco glass

next stop was the Animation bldg! we weren't able to photograph the directory or any of the doors since WDS leases space to non-disney companies

all of this artwork was lining the walls of the hallway..

and this is on the floor

they shared stories of how the "cells" were created, needing hundreds of hand drawn and colored cells for just one minute of film! the drawing was done in one part of the bldg, then taken through a tunnel over to the ladies who did the coloring so they weren't exposed to weather and dust...we were unable to take photos of these areas...


next up the music area of WDS....got to see some of the record awards and they just received this one...

my future star!

next up was seeing the paint dept....the glass jars are some of the original jars they used to keep the powdered paint

then we went to the Archives...such wonderful pieces

in the lobby we saw beautiful models and the machine they used to photograph the cells for movies

then into the courtyard of "fame"

they have hand prints of different Disney people and stars

this is a large size of the award they give to employees ..... there's a little hidden "mouse" on it...

nope it isn't this guy...

it was time for our shopping and lunch break so we headed over to the Employee store and picked up these shirts that you could only get there

we were too, she just has had to adjust her activity levels, but doing great!

thanks! it was a very fun trip! the tour was amazing! they actually run a 6 day tour which covers so much more, someday we'd love to take it!

Awwww... This is just what I needed today! I loved each and every picture and studied all of them... I nearly crawled up on my desk to get a closer look at all the AWESOME Donald stuff - how cool was that?!?

That looks like it was an amazing tour - I would love to do something like that someday. It looks like you both had so much fun!
