Hawaii is so beautiful !! I'm with Chiara .. It's on my list of must do's some day.

Looking forward to your report !!

ok, trying to update for the third time...fingers crossed the boards co-operate!

Megan and I had a beach day planned, we ordered room service for breakfast and went to get on the bus to head for Wailea Beach!

we enjoyed our time at the beach...had some yummy wraps and Hawaiian potatoe chips and relaxing in the beautiful setting...

we had 3 hours there and then headed back to the ship....we got showered and cleaned up and hit the shops and looked around a bit more before getting ready for dinner.

we ate in the Skyline restaurant again to celebrate Megan and Zach's birthdays...unfortunately we were seated right in front of the band who were extremely loud, we complained to the hostess, the head waiter and even guest services, but they refused to move us...lucky the band took a break while we were eating, but we were all fighting headaches and didn't enjoy the meal like we should of....we got out of there as quick as we could and headed out to get our family photos done

we found a spot to have the kids open up their cards/gifts and relaxed before heading to see the Aloha Polynesia show....

the show was a bunch of different dances from the polynesian islands...was very good and entertaining!

today we all went to Lahaina together...we took a free shuttle over to a mall, then the city bus....only cost us each $2.00 but had to wait an hour for the city bus.

walked back through town to the bus and headed back to the ship

my nephew Zach really was sick with a terrible cold, so he headed down to rest while Megan and Max hit the pool for a bit

Megan, mom and I had dinner that night in the Teppanaki restaurant, was so good - by far the best meal we had on the ship!

dang...photo bucket froze on me...will try to post more later...

Bummer that the b-day dinner was so loud. Great family pictures. Love the one of your mom and the grandkids and all of her children. The show looks like fun and a great way to enjoy Hawaii while on the ship. The pictures of Hawaii are gorgeous and it does look a bit like Key West (based on my one and only visit about 15 years ago). Can't wait to hear more about your trip.

LOVE this photo! You also have a really nice one with your mom and her grandkids too. I like all of them! The one of you and Megan is my favorite though -- it's really an adorable photo.

And leave it to you to find a hidden Mickey in Hawaii!

It's very strange looking at these pics and not seeing Disney attire!!! I am so used to pics from your numerous trips over the past year decked out in Dis clothes!

Thus far it sounds like a pretty good trip -- you must have had some decent breaks from a certain someone ;)

well we tried to make the best of the dinner situation, but were upset they didn't see how bad the issue was!
the show was very good....compared to one we saw later in the week was very cheesy
I loved all the scenery....Megan even said some of my photos look like postcards :goodvibes

we had some fun photogs that night, so made it even better! I love that shot of us too!
actually Megan noticed the mickey cloud....yes he does love us ::yes::

:rotfl2: she was pretty good....but then her son was sick and she wasn't feeling good either, so think that took the edge off :rotfl2:

hope to get another update up this weekend!

thanks for sticking around!

HI Lisa! I tried to get your update to load last night, but I was having issues...

So glad I got it to load this morning...

I am so sorry that dinner was so loud, quite sad that they server wouldn't move you. Maybe the band taking a break was divine intervetion? ;)

I LOVE the picture of you and Megan together - what a treasure to have!!!

The beach looked heavenly - even if it was a little chilly, and I Poly dancers looked really neat to watch too. :)

I'll be watching for the next update! :)

I know, I'm so over the slowness of the boards too!

we almost walked out after the whole issue with the manager, etc. but we had already ordered dinner and their cakes!

beach was beautiful, so clean too!

well you don't have to wait long....see next post,,

okay trying photobucket again....

back to our Teppanyaki dinner

P1110672.jpg

was a fun night, our chef was great fun! he even tossed rice at us, we had to try to catch it in our mouths....Megan and I got some after 4 or 5 tries, but mom never caught any

this was the best dinner we had all week! Megan and I both had the filet and mom had seafood, it was all cooked to perfection!

we headed back to our cabin, tired and went to bed...we were cruising that night to the Big Island, Hilo and our big excursion was up next!

we were up early and order room service for breakfast - was so nice to have it delivered and having my coffee when I first got up!

we boarded our tour bus for our Hawaiian Explorer trip!

first up a cute little zoo...it was beautiful with only a few animals, but worth the stop!

P1110281.jpg

P1110282.jpg

P1110285.jpg

P1110286.jpg

we then headed over to the Lava Tree State Park....a lava flow had gone through this area years ago and left some of the trees petrefied, was so beautiful even though they looked a bit alien

P1110293.jpg

then through lava fields from the 1960's...our guide said it takes about two hundred years before the jungle takes the land back

P1110297.jpg

P1110298.jpg

P1110299.jpg

we then went to the shore line at Pohoiki...this was a spring fed hot springs from the magna....was warm do to the sea water that mixed in with it....lots of people were swimming in it, but we just put our feet in...we ate our picnic lunch they provided and enjoyed the beautiful scenery!

P1110339.jpg

P1110340.jpg

we were supposed to sail around the south end of the island over to Kona to see the lava flow from Kilauea, but it was flowing so we head north instead!

We had a later start today so headed to the buffet for breakfast then headed out for our Glass bottom boat tour to the reef....they didn't tell us the reef was right at the pier so wasn't what we expected...happy I didn't spend too much money on it

P1110352.jpg

some locals entertaining

P1110349.jpg

got on the boat....the guide Brian was very good and told us what fish we might see

we got back to the ship...had lunch at the burger place and then went swimming

P1110430.jpg

P1110432.jpg

played at the pool for a couple of hours, went back to our cabin for showers and then went to make some ribbon Lei's....was a fun activity to learn ...

we met up with the family later on for dinner back at the burger place...lunch was better, our servers were grumpy and very slow! we looked at the entertainment for the night, but decided not to go, so hung out for a bit in a lounge then headed to bed!

we cruised that night to Kauai.....

I will post our two days in Kauai tomorrow!

OK, I just love the pictures of Megan and your mom trying to catch rice! LOL

The zoo looks incredible - I love smaller zoos, they just seem more intimate and the animals seem happier.

I am not sure where the picture of the tree was taken - but that is a gorgeous tree! I just wanted to sit here and have a picnic under it. LOL

D~

So, your glass bottom boat never moved? It just sat at the pier and you walked on it to see the reef? I would be incredibly annoyed at the "leaving that part off" the brochure. I am also glad you didn't spend much $$ on it.

The ship looks really awesome - I would love to do a cruise like that one day... You got to see some really amazing things!

And Megan looked like she was having fun in the pool too! :)

D~

Wow .. great pics ! Looks like so much fun .. my daughter took my mom 2 years ago and they loved it. I remember looking at their pics and being amazed at how beautiful the scenery is there. I'm happy my mom got to experience it. Looks like you guys are having a great time !

yah we had rice all over the place and in some interesting parts of our clothes too :rotfl2:

the zoo was so pretty...the gardens were so well tended and the animals seemed happy!

do you mean the umbrella looking trees? yes they are gorgeous...they are called Monkey Pod Trees!

nope, sorry, the boat did move but stayed close to the pier...the people on the other side of the boat saw more fish than we did...and when we did see them they moved pretty quick due to the waves so only got a couple blurry photos of the fish!

the ship was good...definately not Disney standards, but good!

she loved the pool and hottubs! have a few more photos coming up with her and my nephew Max!

Awesome pics!!! :)

Hey Rachal! thanks!!!
