Friends using points

We are not travelling to WDW this summer. We offered our friends some points. How do I book this for them. Do I book in my name or theirs. Any help would be appreciated.

As Bobbi said, theirs. Once booked, you can give them the confirmation number and they can link the reservation to their MDE account and customize their MagicBands. If they already have tickets (or purchase prior to the trip), they can make advance FP+ selections if they link the tickets to their MDE account.

There is a box to check online to mark them as non DVC members. Also, if they get the dining plan, you have to call with their (someone's name that is also on the reservation) credit card information.

If paying with a credit card, you can add a dining plan from the member website. If payment is by Disney Gift Card, you must call to add the dining plan.

I forgot online payment is an option. Either way the member had to do it, but the credit card needs to be in the name of someone on the ressie. I think gift cards do not matter ( not sure they even carry a name)

I just paid for the dining plan for my son's honeymoon with my credit card with no problem. Trust me, I am not on that reservation, but they are using some of our points.
