Friday 1st November

We were up early this morning, ready for our day at Castaway Cay. As always, our plan was to head for the adult beach first thing. Daniel was excited about the prospect of hanging out with the teens for the day as the teens and pre-teens share a beach on Castaway Cay.
After a spot of breakfast, we gathered together our things for the day.
We had a fabulous view of the island from our balcony.

We were among the first people to disembark and were soon on the tram. It took us quite a while to find where Daniel needed to be but soon we were on the tram down to Serenity Bay. I couldnt believe how busy the beach was wed never seen it so busy. I guess this is where the additional people on the bigger ships is most noticeable. We eventually managed to fins some chairs about half way down the beach. There were no hammocks left though although it did appear that there were fewer hammocks around generally.

It didnt bother us though. Sian and I dragged our chairs down to the waters edge and made ourselves comfortable. Sheer bliss!

Gary, of course, went for a swim.

As we were sitting there, minding our own business, along comes Captain Jack. This was the first time wed seen him on the adult beach.

After sunning ourselves a little longer, we were desperate for a drink and a spot of lunch. Despite the fact that it was only just gone 11.30 the BBQ area was packed. We grabbed a table in the shade and dumped all our stuff, before lining up for food.
I love the food at Serenity Bay, although weve never actually eaten at Cookies (or Cookies Too) so dont sure how it compares.

I had a piece of steak, lemon chicken and a hot dog. All was delicious.
After lunch, we gathered our things together and caught the tram back to the family area, where we learned that the teens were down at Pelican Point.

We bumped into Char and family together with Bobbie, Gerald and their kids. Anna had a pretty red flower which she gave to Sian.

We got to Pelican Point but there was no sign of Daniel or any of the teens.

We hung around for a while, watching people coming down the slides. It looked like a lot of fun but I dont do sea water so there was no way I was going in.

Eventually we spotted the teen counsellors and Daniel traipsing across the sand. Daniel was hot and bothered and wanted to go for a swim. Since his heat rash was really bad, he was concerned about the sea water so we decided to go back to the ship, so he could swim there. It was really, really hot today and we were all thirsty and desperate for a swim to cool down.

We had to wait quite a while for a tram and the first one was going in the wrong direction. Eventually we got on and were soon heading back to the ship.

We stopped for a couple of pictures as there was nobody waiting.

We were greeted with lovely cold flannels, which were very welcome as it was so hot. Pretty soon, we were back on board.
