Friends and Family promotion??

Hi We are holding tight to see what possible new promotions may come out to purchase BLT. Its hard to wait as I want to purchase right now, but some had said they heard a rumor on a possible Friends and Family promotion. Could someone explain what kind of promotion that was? I understand you needed a referral and all, but I don't understand what kind of discount was given. Do you think it would be better than the matching developer points and a$5 discount currently being offered??

Also, with the opening of the GCV in California, does that put a better or worse option on buying BLT? Did they give better deals on AKV when BLT began selling?

Thanks for any input. Just getting itchy to buy in. We want to travel in July and want to own something by then and hopefully use developer points to book a resort in the summer.

When we bought we used the friends and family promotion. We received the discount, the developer points and a $500.00 pre-paid visa for having a referral.

That was the most recent version. Prior to that it was simply an extra $3-5 off per point for having a referral.

We bought in during the 15th anniversary friends and family promotion...we got a $15 per point discount (SSR), plus a $100 gift card for coming to the presentation (the gift card promotion was on an invite in our room in Wilderness Lodge). We had the referral of someone we'd just met on our Magic cruise two days before. And am I glad we bought when we did!

I saw on another thread that someone spoke to a guide and they said a Friends and Family promo would be coming out in a few weeks. Nothing now though. Please let us know if you hear something. I would hold off on purchasing just now. We are. We are waiting to see what new incentives come and see how everything settles after this point chart mess! Good luck and please keep us informed if you hear anything from your guide

DVD always has some type of "promotion", doesn't matter what they name it.

They will take one away, wait a few weeks to get the newbies worried, and offer another limited time promo.

Friends and Family was a joke, our Guide offered to find us a friend.

I suggest that you read the recent postings here on the DIS to get a sense of the direction of the DVC before you spend your money.
