friend's 5 yr old son on a vent with pneumonia pg 20

I am still praying for Kyree, and will pray for Sid as well. I'm also praying for CJBaby's children.

While not out of the woods by a long shot I am so excited to post some more positive news.

Kyree is still stable. He is still keeping his levels within range. He is still trying to wake up so it is tricky keeping him sedated BUT:
His left lung looks a tiny bit better in the xray.
They ran lots of ultrasound tests as they were worried about some other organ damage due to the harshness of the illness and treatment and everything came back NORMAL.
they ran another blood test and the MRSA seems to be looking better!
So YEAH. I think we (I know I am) hesitant to become too enthusiastic because he is still very sick but this is better than just stable.

Thanks everyone for the lovely warm wishes, positive thoughts, and prayers.

Please continue praying that they can keep Kyree sedated. Please continue to pray that his lungs heal. Please continue praying that the ECMO causes only healing and no harm.

CJ - I hope your daughter and son are better!

Missy I prayers of healing for Sid. It is a drastic step to use an ECMO machine and it would be great if he didn't need it but thank goodness if he does it is there.

Thanks everyone!!

Oh Jewel that is good news!! Kyree has a long way to go but things are looking up and the Lord's hearing and answering our prayers... Continuing with prayers for his recovery and no lasting damage from this terrible flu.:flower3:

Thanks for the positive update! Prayers still being said for all..

Jewel- great update. I'm praying for this little guy to have even better updates. His poor Mom must be worn. God Bless her too. I wonder if it's normal that he can't be totally sedated or if it shows what a little fighter he is. I pray that God gives Kyree great strength and the ability to fight off all illness. I pray for all the medical staff to be guided by the Spirit to bring Kyree back to health.

Also, I can't thank you all enough for praying for my son and daughter. It really means the world to me. My 6yo dd went back to school today!!:goodvibes My 2yo ds still has fever (102.9 just now before bed/bath,) but we went back to the doctor this a.m. (because I didn't like the sound of his cough,) and his lungs still sound clear, and a strep test came back negative. I pray that my little family will be rid of this virus really soon. I sincerely pray for the worry to begin to lift from Kyree's condition and for miracles to make this happen.

God Bless everyone reading this thread, and thank you for reminding me how important God is in my life! :grouphug:Kyree:grouphug:

Praying for everyone affected by the flu right now! Thank you so much for the updates on Kyree, I am so glad he has no permanent damage from the treatment. Praise God!:goodvibes

Continued prayers and blessings to all families.:grouphug:

Slow and steady wins the race!
Still keeping Kyrie in my thoughts and prayers

We need more of these types of updates!:goodvibes

Still praying for him.

Continued Prayers for Sid too and CJ for your baby.

Small Small World, I know Kyree's Mom. I continue to pray for Kyree and her everyday, I'm so glad she is able to utlize the carepage to keep those of us who are praying for him informed on how he is doing. It seems today he is stable and his lungs are looking a little better, so that's a good thing!!

I know Marci appreciates all the thoughts and prayers being raised up for Kyree.

It is a small world Mami! thanks for the update. Numbers look stable. I know last night they were worried about bleeding, which appears to be the biggest complication but it resolved through treatment.

Please continue praying for no complications through the use of the ECMO machine. Please pray that his lungs continue to heal.

thanks again for all the prayers - as Mami noted his mom really appreciates it!

My prayers continue for Kyree. I pray that there are no more setbacks, only reasons to rejoice.

Thank you for your continued prayers for my little guy. His fever continues & his cough is getting really high pitched and awful sounding. I'm glad my ped has morning hours tomorrow, because I have a bad feeling I'm going to need them. I really wish I knew how to use a stethoscope, it would make me feel better!

:grouphug: Kyree :grouphug:

Still thinking of Kyree here is PA. Looks like my DS 8 has the flu. Had a really mild case all day but now he has spiked a temp and is really dizzy. Good thoughts to everyone who is dealing with this in big and small ways!:goodvibes

Tigg- I just prayed for your son to have a mild case, and for the rest of your family to stay flu free. Take care!

Thank you soo much. Didn't realize how concerned I was til I got your post, My DS is a cuddle bug and gentle soul. I hate that he is sick and going to miss his Boy scout camp out again. Very greatful that we should be able to ride this out at home:).

Wonderful to hear Kyree continues to improve! Sending continued prayers for this strong little boy, his dear family who must be exhausted, his medical team, and all the others here suffering with this terrible flu. My heart goes out to all of you.

Early Oct. our 13 yo DGS's had the flu for 10 days, spiking fevers high as 105*. Praise God he has healed good as new and back in school feeling fine.
Matter of fact their school offered the flu mist/shots last week and he even got one! :goodvibes

Everyone take care and pls. be viligant about using flu precautions! :grouphug:

Glad to hear that Kyree is holding his own. I passed on his information to my Bible Study group. Let me say that this is one powerful group of Prayer Warriors. Hoping to hear more good news about the little guy.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Kyree and all on here going thru this horrible flu. This breaks my heart that this precious child and family are going through this. God Bless!
