Had these last weekend at the Boardwalk....DELICIOUS.

It's oreo cookies, dipped in Zeppole (or Funnel Cake) batter, deep fried, then coated in a hefty layer of powdered sugar.

It was a major cheat but it was so good (and I don't count carbs I eat at the boardwalk anyways ;) )

Are you hungry yet?

These were the big thing at our state fair last year. They are soooooo evil but yet soooooooooooo yummy. So of course I had to make it more evil by learning how to make them myself. Then I made them and gave them to everyone who didn't try them at the fair.

I am in the school of though that..

Anything fried HAS to taste good

Makes me think of fried Twinkies...I never knew these existed till I had one at a fair...OMG...those are lethal to the hips!

Sounds good, but I am lucky that they are 2000 miles away...and I'm too lazy to try and make one myself. But might try one in March.

MUST.....HAVE......Chocolate NOW!!!

:(

Gotta go against the grain here and say, "eeeewwwwww"!!!

Can't imagine it. Maybe I'll get one of my gullible family members to buy one (IN 2 DAYS!!!) and try it!

Atkins is killing me...lol. My favorite foods use to be Funnel Cake, Egg Rolls, Spring Rolls, Fried Wontons, Filled Fried Wontons, anything dipped or breaded and then tossed into oil... yum. I may just allow myself a treat on the 4th when we go for the Fireworks, where do they sell these, how much?

LOLOL this thread is right under the thread about working women & obesity. I would say that a culture that embraces FRIED OREOS is bound to be obese whether they work or not! ;)

(btw: I tried a fried twinkie at the state fair and it was Mmmm Mmmm Gooooooood)

Wow! I would definitely try one. I had a fried twinkie last year at 6 Flags---not anything special and definitely NOT worth the calories.

I saw this on FoodTV. They were also talking about deep fried Snickers and Milky Ways too.

Truly, i'd never eat just plain oreos....don't especially like them and they turn your teeth all sorts of colors of black.....

But these were delicious....anything batter fried tastes soooo good....probably why i'm now LC and really never have these sort of things.

It was a special treat. I got them at the boardwalk at the shore. I'm sure they'll have them at traveling fairs and things like that. Delicious.

LOL at MosMom comment - I thought of that as well. Too funny. Again, moderation is the key. It was a special one time treat.

ok - my brother got it in his craw to fry a turkey last thanksgiving.

best turkey I ever had (no one ate mom's oven-baked turkey! heheh)

but we attempted to make fried twinkies/snickers...because when else are you going to have a fryer set up in your backyard?

they were the most foul things I had every seen in my life. we must have done something wrong.

my brother had the plate of fried crap on the table and I had to ask him to put the plate outside - it was making me naseous.

I like Oreos (with Doublestuff), and I love funnel cakes. But this combination sounds just plain nasty :crazy2:.

You didn't fry the Twinkies and Snickers in the same oil that you fried the turkey in, did you??

I had some a couple of weeks ago. They're pretty good. I don't like oreos much, but actually like them fried.
