Is Jessica Tandy's character the grown-up Idgie (Mary Stuart Masterson's character)?

Thanks

I never saw this flick and love those types of movies. I am interested in knowing more about it! Awaiting replies.

It's been forever, I don't remember either.

I don't believe it is ever stated that she is but it is definately strongly implied!! It has been awhile since I have seen this movie!!

YES! Jessica Tandy's character is the same charachter as Mary Stuart Masterson's. :) Great movie :)

Great Movie...
Weird Name, but great movie..:)

I've always wondered that too. But, in the movie, isn't Jessica Tandy's character refered to as Mrs Theo Threadgood? If so, she would be Idgie's sister-in-law. I have always tried to figure that out, but I need to sit down and watch the movie again. I gave a copy of that movie to my friend for christmas, because I have always enjoyed it so much.

Great movie! I remember thinking throughout the movie that she was really Idgie, but at the end it became clear that she was not. I never did figure out how she really knew her.

I thought it was implied. So I always thought it must be. :)

She was married to Idgie's brother:D

I love that movie! It was filmed right by my house.

Yes, I believe she was the SIL to Idgie. Although it was strongly implied that she was Idgie, you didn't find out until the end.

I also loved this movie, and the book.

Jessica Tandy was Idgie's SIL.

In the beginning of the movie she says to Evelyn Couch at the nursing home "I was practically adopted by the Threadgood's, I married her brother Cleo".

One of our favorites movies :D

Was that the movie where the women went to a meeting and used mirrors to examine certain parts of their anatomy?
