I just read in the mousesavers newsletter about the fridges in the rooms at deluxe resorts. There is a note that if I reserve the fridge in advance there is a $10 per day charge.

Anyone know anymore about this?

The newest news is that all Deluxe hotel rooms will/do have frig's at no extra charge.

Do they plan to put them in the values? It seems unfair to those who need the value price to have to pay for something that others get for free.

Yes, I know that they are in all the rooms at deluxe resorts, but what I just read in the mousesavers newsletter is that if it's on your reservation requested in advance, there will be a $10 per night charge. That seems very strange to be. To be safe, I removed mine from my reservation.

I don't know, but I would think that they would, but it probably will take some time. I don't know for sure. I think Disney is trying to give guests what other hotels have in rooms without having to pay extra for it.

well, ok. so just step around the frig and don't plug it in 'cause it's still going to be there! :earboy2:

*I think it's most likely a typo on Mary's site. Since this policy went into effect I've stayed at YC and AKL and what they've done is remove the 'wet bars' at the YC and built them into a new cabinet-like thing at AKL.

I'm sure you'll have one, and you won't be charged. I believe they have started to include them in the moderate resort rooms as well.

When you are paying deluxe and moderate prices you should get extra perks like a refrigerator free. Most standard hotels don't have refrigerators in the rooms, so I would think that the value resorts would be the same. You can rent them from some baby service sites for less than Disney prices. I think I read that they were 45.00 a week. Better than Disney. If I were staying in the value resorts I would check into renting from some place else if I were staying for a week.

The value resorts charge $10 per night. Do yourself a favor, go to Walmarts(there's directions to them on this board) and buy a large cooler. I bought a nice big one with large wheels for $17, picked up some breakfast stuff, water, pop and snacks, and rolled the whole thing back to my room. Only took about a hour or so out of my first day, probably saved us $300 or more during the week-not having to buy breakfast or drinks and snacks in the park, filled it up every night with free ice.

Then when you leave, you could give it to someone else there that looks like they might want it, or leave it in your room. I'm thinking someone from housekeeping wouldn't mind having a new cooler.

When I made my reservation the CM said the $10 per day fee would be noted on my reservation, but I "might" not get charged for it. ??? I need the fridge so I will bite the bullet I guess!

At the price I pay to stay at a Deluxe, I wouldn't call them free.

We just returned last night from WDW. We did a split stay (Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge). I called CRO about a week before to verify that my room location request and requests for coffee maker and refridgerator were documented. They verified they were--for both hotels. I got the views and coffee pots at both hotels, but only the AKL had a fridge in the room. When I got in the room at WL, I immediately called downstairs to ask for a fridge and was told there was not one available at the time, but would receive one when one became available. Well four nights later, I still hadn't got my fridge, but to be fair I also didn't call back to ask again. The one at AKL was already in the room when we checked in.
