hello everyone we are staying at the contemory . And I ahve a 7 week old will be just short of 4 months on our trip . I pump breastmilk for her and give it to her from a bottle . (the only way she will take it ) So i HAVE to have a fridge . Will they make me pay for it or not ? I know for meds they usually say no but what about a nursing mama ? thanks

My guess would be yes, because even a baby who takes formula or drinks regular milk (my 1 year old) would need their drinks refrigerated. Disney will probably not supply a refrigerator free to all parents of babies. It would be nice if them did, but I would expec that you will have to pay for the refrigerator.

Let me clear why i though Maybe it would be free ,
formula is dry and then you add room temp water to it to make a bottle ..(thats right right ?)
And I would think that any babies that are drinking whole milk would also be eating close to regular foods so there milk would just be that a drink .
Breastmilk HAS to be kept cold and at four months old its the only thing she will have . I know it can sit out for 6 hours . Anyways hope i made sence maybe i will call and ask I trully think disney should provide all moms with babies fridges .

don't mean to offend anyone with this post .

I hope that you can get Disney to give you the free refrigerator, but I wouldn't count on it.

Some people use the ready to eat formula which does need to be refrigerated once it is opened.

Only powdered formula doesn't need to be kept cold. Premade and canned formula that has been opened has to be kept cold also. Just think of all that money you save by breastfeeding and pay the $10 a day it will take to keep it cold. It really isn't that much. I really don't think WDW will give you a free fridge or else they would have to give everyone that has a baby one that needs formula or breastmilk.

I think it really depends on who you get when you check in. last yr when we went we were not expecting a free fridge, when we asked for one they asked if we needed it for medical reasons. We said it was just for a vitiam that my wife takes and the CM said not a problem and gave it to us for free. I was really surprised, yet I hear other people that can't really get one. Luck of the draw I guess.

I know that it won't hurt to check. When we stayed at the Poly we requested a frig and totally enjoyed it (we did pay for it because we didn't have a medical necessity). However, you might want to try one of those coolers (ours is a Coleman) that keeps ice frozen for 5 days in 90 degree weather. I don't think that the temp in the rooms ever gets up to 90!, so you should be able to make it last even longer. We were at WalMart yesterday and saw a small one (30 gallons) for $18.96. So, depending on how long you stay, it might be worth it. We purchased ours at Academy sports for $34.00, but it is a 50 gallon with a handle and wheels. Good luck to you on your trip with your new baby!

If you bring a cooler with you. You'll have no problems. Just fill it with ice daily and it will keep everything cold.

I guess I'm an optimist but I think you might not be charged for it. That is a special need. It's not as if you can walk over to the snack shop and order some. I think that is why they began to charge for refrigerators....to encourage folks to buy stuff from WDW.

I would call CRO or whomever you made your ressie through and request a refrigerator to store breast milk. If they add it to your ressie I think it might help.

That's pretty funny that your baby will only take it through a bottle!:D One of my three would only take an ounce or so that way and my youngest absolutely refused a bottle.

We were there last November and received our fridge for free. We had a 9 mo old and needed it for formula.
