Fridge hire needed in Disney hotel?

We like our cold drinks to hand in the hotel rooms and usually have had rooms (off site) that include a fridge. Seeing some prices of fridge hire $10 per day seems a bit pricey to me, are there ice buckets available to use? I was particularly looking at Pop.

Yes the rooms do have ice buckets, but a better option would be to use the free DIS fridge swap. If you go onto the budget board there are lists of people who loan you a fridge for your stay. all you have to do is make sure that you book it on advance and make sure you can get it to where it needs to be at the end of your stay - i.e to the next swapper or to the designated place in the hotel. Some of them include a coffee maker and / or toaster.

Good luck :goodvibes

Do you know when you are going yet?
Possibly better going into a moderate resort with fridge included, expecially if you are ging when free dining promo is on, Quick service dining is included with moderate resorts, Regular dining plan with Deluxe.
This year will be our 3rd August at Old Key West Deluxe resort with free dining which works out cheaper than staying at a value resort and buying food.
If you are set on value then another option is a fridge swap, details in this thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1454053

Edit, just seen your ticker, if its 2015 I would wait til nearer the time, anything could happen by then, new resort, fridges in values etc.
I am not a fan of the values myself, much prefer offsite with better equipped rooms, fridge & internet included.

One option if you can't arrange for the fridge swap would be to buy one of the polystyrene cool boxes from Walmart (fairly cheap) and keep refilling with ice each day. You could also take this and leave it in the car when you visit the parks so you have some cold drinks when you return.
