Fridays and Saturdays

I know people like to book VWL December vacations at the 11 month window. This year we plan to stay over a weekend, but I hate to use the points for the Friday and Saturday stay this early. I have a limited number of VWL points. Do even Friday and Saturdays at VWL get booked up so far out?

I don't know the answer to your question, but if I were planning, I'd try to book the weekends now (even if I had to pay a deposit). I do know that December weekends are very, very popular with the locals and general public, but I don't know how far ahead they tend to book them

We fly in and I cannot stand the stress of not having a place to stay nailed down before I book the airfare. (It's tough to find good prices out of MSP, so you have to grab them a soons as something reasonable appears). Now that wouldn't keep me from looking for discounts later, but I do need that "security" while I look.

FWIW, we seldom pay cash or move on the weekends unless we are visiting attractions other than Disney (OOPS! Didn't want to admit that. We don't do it very often, LOL). We just look at the cost of a week and forget about the differential.

Thank you. After I posted, I realize that I don't want to risk my mother's having to move, and we have enough points for her room. I'll take the chance with myself and our other friends. Inviting mom was a spur of the moment decision. Her party really was Dec. '04 (BWV), but I guess she could turn 86 at VWL as well!

I really don't know the answer to your question either, but given the size of the resort and the popularity of the timeframe.. I wouldn't risk not having a place for her to stay..

I have left the weekends until 7th month time and had no problems. but who knows now - with so many new members.

Yes, that's my question, what do all of the new members want?!!! Oh well, I got through this morning (no phone wait at all!) and booked mom's stay over that weekend. We'll take our chances for the other rooms, all studios.

In '03 we joined in September and in October we were able to book a weekend stay at VWL for December. And that was 2 months out.
